Hi bro, can I add an SSD hard drive to my laptop while the previous hard drive stays in place?
You can. You have to install Windows in the new ssd (I asume that you are changing because your pc is too slow). The problem my be in the hardware, may be there are no slots or any space to add another card or disk. Depend on the hardware. I did it on my Lenovo Ideapad 330s 14IKB, I added a SSD M.2, because the pc had a slot for that, and I kept the HDD for storage

My hard drive keeps braking or whatever and it never boots so I want to see if I can take it out and put it back in to see if it fixes

Thanks for this vid. Do you happen to know where the Optane memory slot is in an Ideapad 330-15IKB 81DE (also has a DVD/CD drive)? Lenovo says that model is compatible for an Optane memory 16gb upgrade but claim they don't know where it's installed. Thx for any relevant info.
Optane memory is not worth it. Just put an ssd
@@brian_jake Thanks for the input. Found out this particular Ideapad doesn't even have a M.2 slot, despite what Lenovo says! Heard ChromeOS can be installed to speed up computer performance. Exploring all options...
Yep true... And we can just put additional ssd in the drive slot.... Thats a true convenience

You Can use 2.5ich SSD in DVD driver section by using a Caddy , i am also using a WD green SSD

@@francescooliva5951 I don't think so SSD can use more battery as they are generally low power consuming hardware in term of speed and power saving

You would have to buy one caddy or change the hd for the ssd.

Replace original. It has only one slot.

i think no, 2133 is the max i think but if you put an 2666mhz nothing will happen just the ram will convert in an 2133mhz

IdeaPad doesn't support M.2 nVMe

check ebay, a6 boards probably £20-30, because A6 is a low end chip.
Can i ask you if there is an M.2 nvme or M.2 sata place to add an ssd? Mine only has a 2tb Hdd and it is the same exact model, i need this urgently pls
Nope it doesn't have m.2 ssd slot
@@SyafiqKim so the only way to add an ssd is by swapping the the hdd or is it possible for buying a cady to replace the disk drive with the ssd?
@@ahmedkamal6597 you can remove the CD ROM, get a caddy adapter and connect the 2nd drive to that adapter, and replace the CD ROM with the Caddy
In this video there is no Caddy but there is the ODD board to connect a caddy adapter to it
