Al Michaels is _without question_ one of the greatest sports announcers in history. Personally I'd put him with Madden, Summerall, Costas, Harry Caray, Musburger & Dickie V who in my opinion are the best to ever do it
So happy to see you give Harry Carey some love. Always listened to Harry while I was supposed to be sleeping on a school night back in St. Louis.”There she goes….. Way back…….It might be…….It could be……….It IS!…….. A HOME run. HO LEEEEE COWWWW.
@@chrisweidner4768 I grew up in Indiana, with my grandma listening on the radio or watching Cubs games in the 80s & 90s on WGN. She loved Harry so much, baseballs been part of my family for over 100yrs. My grandma used to take her own score book to Reds & Cubs games & she'd sit in the stands & keep her score book. Her father, my great-grandfather, & his 2 brothers have their own plaque in Cooperstown from playing & managing in the old triple A league(it was called the 3 "i" league back then) & the big leagues. Our family didn't even know it was there until one of my uncles went to Cooperstown & saw it.
Al backtracked after saying Adam Silver is paid to make the tough decisions after he realized his deal with Amazon pays him more than Silver makes from the NBA 😂
The rules committee and the excellent principles and traditions that guarded the legacy of the game through the early 2010s are the reason it's declined slower than everything else.
I like his take on sports betting. I've always said the stupidest endeavor on the planet is trying to bet on a sporting event, just like Al said you cannot win, you cannot win, that's why he doesn't do it. that's why I never do it. Like Peter King, formerly of sports illustrated said, sports betting will be the scourge of this country.
The NBA needs more than a tweak. Its structure is tottering. 3 and 1/2 quarters of guys throwing up three's and the score doesn't matter until the last few minutes. Refs calling everything in sight. Players moving around like cars at the shopping mall so there are no rivalries, just highly paid athletes who want to play less for the money. Impossible to watch on TV. We're headed for roller derby land.
Committe blew it year 1. Now the SEC owns the committee. Say it out loud: 1. Bama, Ol Miss & South Carolina should be in. 2. The Big Ten looks terrible after the Indiana loss. 3. OSU should NOT be hosting TN (strength of schedule). 4 Boise should not have a bye.
Brady should take Al’s advise as he talks too much. And haters should shut the f up criticizing and finding flaws in Al’s broadcast every week. He’s knows and experienced more than anybody around and comprehension of his skill and style just goes over these haters heads.
NBA athletes are the product. The product sucks. Time to admit this. Sports is an analog for life: overcoming adversity, etc. NBA does not represent this.
You got the guy calling the game last night and you barely get the Chargers mentioned in here. Let alone not talk about Herberts performance. The east coast bias is stronger than ever on this show
There was no indication that the focus of the interview was going to be about that game. Complaining that you are not getting what you want is not a good look, Kyle. Crying "bias" when the focus is on multiple sports, multiple eras, and multiple parts of the country is even worse.
Al Michaels sucks. He’s always talking down to his viewers. Just like he’s doing in this interview. Case in point, he called the third quarter the penultimate quarter and proceeded to define penultimate. He is the Bob Costas of football. Do everyone a favor and retire. Spend time with your grand kids and golf. Enjoy your millions.
What did Al Michaels do to deserve to be paired with that terrible analyst on TNF? Al's great at shaping the silences in a commentary that create atmosphere and drama, then his sidekick blots out of every inch of those pregnant spaces with his interminable sentences. It's like hearing a poet try to perform alongside someone speaking military English who's being paid for how completely they can fill in the gap of every poetic pause.
The great Al Michaels never disappoints.
Only on Thursday nights. Other than that, he’s excellent!
One of the all time greats.
Al is the best. Been watching and listening since. The 70’s.
Lots of great information and humor, Al is the best. Thanks!
Al Michaels is a legend! I first started listening to him as a kid listening to Al doing play-by-play for the SF Giants in the 70's.
Me, too!
Me too. With Art Eckman
Al was great on last night’s Chargers/Broncos game!!
Dan & Al are great together.
It's very clear they really like each other & respect the work each other has done
Love Al Michaels and always a great interview with Dan

Definitely the best considering all the different sports he called over the years. Would've loved to hear Madden call a hockey game though

“Nobody ever got into trouble for shutting up”. I love when Al said that.
Too bad i didn't here that a long time ago
Al was in an episode of the original Hawaii five o in 1968
GOAT!!

🤣🤣🤣
Al Michaels is a legend & full of knowledge
There are too many NFL games.
Ratings aren't high because we want more, they're high because the rest of media has become so much worse.

This isn't about Chargers. Get over it.

I hope Al will call games until is 120.
Mussburger and the greek
Still my favorite football pregame show. Brent, Irv, The Greek and Phyllis, and then Jayne Kennedy.

Wish Dan would have asked him, why are all the telecasts have so much crowd noise in background to the point it drowns out what announcers are saying.
Can anyone truly visualize Al surf boarding???
You're the best Al, but Tomlin is captain cliche

Al might be the best announcer ever in the history of any sport. Give the man a worthy partner again.
Prime Video NFL coverage is so boring and Uninspiring🤐😪
Al is such a legend.
