Thank you very much for printing and flying this plane. I’m 54 years old and I remember seeing the movie as a kid and it was a fantastic movie and it’s so cool in this day and age that we can now build and fly the actual plane. Excellent video. Excellent job.
Hi. Wow, what a great plane you made. I am 71. And yes, i got to see the film. When it first came on. Then dvd. 😊😊 Loved it to bits I even emailed the author. Of the book. Craig Thomas. I asked that i wished there was more He said if i liked reading, i should and did. Orders his 2nd follow-on book FIRFOX DOWN. Have a look out there if you want to get old copies. Like i did. Now o know what rely happened, so to speak. 😊😊😊😊😊
Kyle just incredible!...all these prototype designs actually fly and fly well.. great work.. yeah twin 50 's it would scream.. dont mess with the over extended wing... she flies great !!! just awesome
🎉 This was another great project you made! Love seeing it can actually fly as the Batwing 1989. Looking forward to seeing more movie, anime, cartoon, fictional craft fly.
Awesome, cool nostalgia. Now I have to find that movie and watch it again. Looking forward to version 2 of this plane with some tweaks! Gotta fix the wings on the next one, they have to look right 😉 Perhaps you've done one and I just didn't find it but could you do a video (or point me to one you've already done) on how you get a print going and show the basic steps to get all these parts created, maybe show the settings you use, etc. I've had a 3D printer for about 9 months but haven't even taking it out of the box yet, just so many projects taking my time and haven't been able to decide how to get started but your videos are giving me the bug but I'd love for you to do a rough overview of your creation process.
Fun build great to see flying. Apparently 2 flying rc models were made for the film and were really hard to fly, no auto stability back in 82(83?) One crashed. The Canards on yours look a bit small in cord, there is an intake under the mid fuselage that would make it easier to hold. Also In the film the Mig 31 has a couple of ventral fins in the rear too, could add a bit of weight. Ty for sharing the build and maiden flight, so great to see in the air and hear how much fun you were having.
Wow. Awwsome! You should build either the yf-19 or yf-21 from Macross Pllus. Both are beautiful aircraft both have different types of thrust vectoring and from what i see here i know you would do a nice job.
I’m 72 yr old, I remember that movie well, still … 😂 I’ve been following your videos ever since you designed the batwing and the model before that. I have too many big projects partly or mostly built and trying to resist adding to my list. But, I’ll be checking Cults frequently, hope to get all the little things sorted out and post the files for sale. And yes, move the battery hatch rearwards to make battery placement more convenient. Congratulations on a successful maiden 😋👍👍👍
New subscriber love your videos great production keep up what you’re doing. It’s awesome. It’s so cool to watch you. Get excited and you get excited and I get excited. Everybody gets excited but do yourself a favor and purchase one of those cheap like leaf blower. They’re a shop blower Makes cheap one cordless it’ll blow to get to leaves and grass off your and it even dry it a lot of guys use them to dry their cars after they wash them anyway just a suggestion thanks Thanks 🙏
What's with all the contrails? You're sky looks like vapor central. On a more relevant topic I want to figure out the make/model of printer and type of filament you are using. Maybe you have a video that answers these questions. I'll go on the hunt.
CG probably would have been fine if you had glued the wings on correctly . That extra weight messed up your calculations. But congratulations on still getting the plane in the air !. Looks amazing 🤩. Look forward to the V2 👍.
beautiful, loved the Firefox from my youth. have you considered the VF-1 Valkyrie or others from Macross/Robotech? SA-43 Hammerhead from space above and beyond?
Seriously? I am in the process of building the foam board version from RC Powers. Nice Build! Move the electronics bay cover back an inch or two to help with CG, I don't think it would hurt at all.
So one suggestion to help with the CG issue is to make sure the canards have 2° positive incident meaning the leading edge is higher than the trailing edge. Any aircraft that has a canard is going to have positive incidents in the canard in relation to the wing. This helps to ensure that the canard stalls before the wing.
that looks amazing i loved the film when it came out yes I'm very old, anyway are you going to put the download out there for printing or is this one not availble
That thing screams so loud it had all the neighborhood dogs barking. Now stick the twin 50's and a 4-5S lipo in it and see if it's Mach 5 capable. I'm impressed that the design was actually feasible even if mounting a movie accurate rearward firing missile is not.🤣 On a more serious note... have you considered making some faux ventral fins on the lower intakes? You could make them really short, really thick, with very rounded edges to prevent digging in and they might act as landing skid's to help protect the belly. Just a thought I had, I would like to hear what you think about it. Also, getting the canards working once you have more power to overcome extra weight means you might be able use them for control and while letting the elevon's on the back be dual use as flaps which might let you do a steeper AoA for flare before touch down so you don't have to belly flop it.
I bet the canards barely do anything until a specific speed. In real life they are basically just used in the case of the need of a cobra maneuver. You should have the canards be neutral in lift in line with the flight pitch and if possible have a micro control surface to put them to use as intended
I'm just going to note that this beauty has PTI Kyle "puffed"! And is there such a thing as "too much grass"? At least you didn't have to fly it in Russian..... Watching Cults3D for the twin 50 Version 2, bigger hatch and rearward CG.
@@hotlapkyle I was trying to determine your “incidence” and did after I had asked the question. Thank you for the clarification. She flew very well… just needs a coat of radar absorbing paint…
Hey man. Stop with all the ahhs and Umms. Don't be afraid of pauses in your dialog as you think of the next thing to say. A pause in dialog can be very powerful. Keeps viewers on edge. That last landing was awesome. I've always wanted this plane

A movie worth a remake with current CGI
Completely agree after watching it for the first time last week

Excellent build just excellent
your wings look better as they are !
cool looking that for sure.
I think with such light materials and great engines I think a Block would fly.
It looks like an Ace Combat plane.
I wonder if some actual Ace Combat planes could be made, like the ADFX-01 Morgan
love it. what is the design software do you use?

Great aeroplane have you thought of doing a few of the Avro air craft ...CF-105 ARROWS INTERCEPTOR .???
Admirable dedication

how do you design these? also how do you design these this quickly?

You need to start carrying a small paint brush to get rid of grass. LOL
enlarging the canard = more drag.. idk maybe a tiny bit of weight up front?
I won't lie : I saw this one coming
I thought that, in the movie, the Firefox was an interceptor.
BTW You have to think in Russian to fly this plane
There was a radio controlled Firefox for the movie wasn't there ?
Good question!

hey so is it nose heavy
@@TecraTube yes sir. Adjusting
its a little nose heavy
Dude you are building these so so fast! Maybe you need a higher lift canard airfoil.
I increased the size 8% 👍🏻 enough to help but not enough to see a scale difference
Can you make a su 27 please
I might be showing my ignorance here about aeronautics but why are you flying only right to left. all left hand turns. can it bank right and fly?
Do you think your canards might be pitching your nose down?
I have 4 degrees positive incidence so it’s a tried and tested method. I’ve used 4-7 degrees depending on the plane

How difficult was it to translate English to Russian to get it to fly?
