In your example footage, it looked kind of jittery, was that in the footage? have you spent more time with it and seen this as an issue, or is it smooth?
The footage you can get with it is very smooth. Some of the jitter you may be seeing is from when it goes to each of the 5 keyframes, it does stop for a beat, then continue on, there isn't a super smooth animation curve if you do more than 2 points. But, there may be a setting for the curve, I just haven't found it yet.
I always get that same jitter both handheld and using a gimbal, not sure what Im doing wrong.. it disappear or isn't noticeable when moving slower and get less when using 30fps instead of 24fps.. dont have any nd filters so is it a shutter speed issue maybe? Im using a sony a7iii
@@josef5013 That jitter is just one of the downsides of shooting panning motion at 24p. At 30p it is way less visible. You see lots of pans on TV but not so many in cinema.
You talk more about the carry case than you do actually showing the product in use. Would much rather see a montage of clips to highlight the strengths and weaknesses if you ever do another video on this product. So far reviews for the product seem lackluster from everyone that's been sent these and aren't convincing me, which is a shame as I was looking forward to this since it's announcement.
Yeah, I've been seeing ads for it everywhere too haha! If you already have one of the supported Ronin models, I definitely think it's worth it, especially if you don't have a motorized slider yet.
Congrats on getting yours! Mine's on the way and I'm excited to have it in hand! I was so excited about the first version but it didn't quite meet my expectations. The new version looks SO much better! And it comes with a carry case?! V1 didn't so that's great! One thing I'm curious about is whether there's a way to ease the curve between the keyframes so it's not always linear between them. That way follow actions could be smooth between multiple keyframes.
@@skymakai yeah, I thought the V1 was really intriguing too because of the pan feature, but the ability to add your gimbal to V2 just pushes it over the edge into very useful!
