Tip for the fridge - raise the temperature so it doesn’t freeze your food. Just play around and see what works.
If you are running low on your battery, buy gallon zip bags, don’t buy the cheap ones. I like the Ziplock brand. Get a bag of ice, put ice in at least 4 bags, don’t fill them. Double bag them!!! VIP You want to be able to smoosh them around the food. Put them in the fridge, and turn up the temperature on the fridge. This has saved me so many times because my fridge is too big for my Jackery.

I had it set to the same temp I always had, but for some reason it froze everything this time. I turned it up, obviously, but it was still surprising since that's never happened on the temp I had it set to before.

Hey Chantelle! It was fun getting back on the road with you and Joey! I have been 'stuck' at my home base all summer so far as it's been too hot to venture out with my car camper with my dog and cat. Cooler weather is on the way though, so I may be able to get out yet! I loved seeing the area you were in. St. Joseph's looks like a very pretty place. I am in Canada on the western side and have yet to venture to either eastern Canada or the US. I'm hoping to do a cross Canada road trip as I now have 2 of my 5 kids over that way. One on PEI and the other in Montreal.

Good morning, and welcome back (to the road)!!! My sister and I now place bets on whether the weather is right. One moment, it is 90% chance of rain, then it drops to 10% chance, then it doesn't rain. You just sort of have to let go, not worry, and hope for the best. And I love that stained glass window!

Im glad to see you back on the road, and really excited to see your trip through the UP. I was able to take a short road trip to the Pictured Lakes National Lakeshore last fall and it was so beautiful!

Hey Chantelle how exciting to see you visiting my area. For future reference….on the way to St. Joe you passed Weko and Warren Dunes both with dog beaches. Also, cars can park over night at the visitor center T a indiana Dunes State Park. In St. Joe there are always dogs on the beach in the evening on Lyons Beach, plus parking at the beach is free in the upper part is the road. As you head north make sure to follow 22 around and overnight at tge overlook in Arcada. It is so beautiful. The Walmart isn’t really safe because it is in Benton Harbor, in a shopping district that isn’t that safe. While you are in the UP try and go to Pictured Rocks National Park and you will see your forth lake, Lake Superior. Oh and well driving north you have to stop at Sleeping Bear Dunes…. I know I am rambling. I am just excited you are visiting my area and excited at all the beauty you will see. Enjoy your travels.

Take care of yourself. Mentally, I think this time will be good for you to get back into nature and make some new adventures. Just remember it takes awhile to get through grief and that some days will be harder than other's. Just take a day at a time. Glad you are back.

I am glad you chose to stay at the same place, the second night. I was with a friend taking pictures of the Christmas lights on the bluff one once. After a car of people slowly drove by us, we noticed there was no one else still out. We quickly raced for the car. On our way, police stopped us and said we shouldn't still be out. That was about 8 years ago.

Charge at a library, coffee shop, some parka have cabanas with power. Think it through
St Joseph is adorable, my daughter lives there. I visit every summer from Montana. The first parking area is 5 mins from her place. I have sat there in that same spot!! Wonderful chocolate place downtown Kilwins! Walmart is is Benton Harbor not as safe as st Joseph
It would be a good idea to set your fridge to 41. That’s the normal safe temp to keep food. I’m sure it will help your battery usage as well. ❤ hope you come to Oregon again soon.

Best wishes, a few more days and you will be into it. Probably best to get going further away and such. When you get up north to Travis City and etc. you will also like that area. It has been many years since I have been to these areas, so its nice to see your video's just for that. I know it is expensive and maybe you cannot afford it, but there is that battery/alternator charger from Ecoflow and I think one from Goal Zero that may be useful and take away some of the stress. Hopefully, Jackery comes out with something similar to charge your battery while driving. Be safe and enjoy. Thank you for sharing so much.

Not sure your route but I do know Big Bear dunes area and Traverse City is very dog friendly. Also, Torch Lake. You needed to be with your family at that time. Just like now you feel you need this time alone. You just keep living your best life ❤
If you get back to st Joseph you can park above silver beach free wll day walk down steps to beach south pier carousel water park. There are amazing silver sculptures there especially at beginning of south pier called and you seas. Krasl art is cool and little shops in town, chocolate, old fashioned five and dime. I love that bigby and go morning mass behind it st Joseph church

I live in the pinky of Michigan, M22 is a gorgeous drive with lots to see. I am willing to try and answer questions about my area for you and I have a very rustic former pasture that you could park in overnight if you needed. Enjoy are beautiful state and be prepared for Mosquitos and watch your fur friend for ticks.

It would be nice for those E-car chargers to have 110 electrical plugs. People could pull in overnight and charge all their batteries. It may be a money maker. Beautiful and peaceful lake views. You look more rested and at peace.

I've been watching you since the beginning, and it's neat to see you drive through this area because I live in Chicago ( actually Chicago) and I'm always curious if there is anything else cool to see in the area. I finally headed west and camped at Rock Cut State park near Rockford and that was pretty nice. Nothing majestic just trees but ok. This has kinda motivated me to try Michigan again. Anyway, I do have a #question, What mascara do you use? Because I have yet to find one that doesn't run all over and there is no way I could take a nap and not wake up with it all around my eyes and impossible to get off.

Just out of curiosity, why the big concern/nervousness about some rain? I would get snow, but I guess I'm just not understanding what the stress & sadness is about? Get an umbrella & go see what you were gonna see, girl!
Rain=no sun. No sun=no power. No power=no fridge & not able to work. Fine for a day or two, but 6 consecutive days or rain is not fun in a minivan. Especially when it's 85°F(+) outside. Can't leave the windows/door open because everything will get wet. I'm not going to hang out outside in the rain all day. Also, if I'm not able to work, then I don't get paid. I can't leave my dog in the van for 5+hours to work inside somewhere when it's 85°F out. He would die.

Why don't you charge your Jackery from the lighter socket while driving?
I do worry for you parking right beside a main road, given how many drivers speed and crash off roads!
He just got a haircut not that long ago. And, It blows my fuse.
Are there any libraries nearby where you can charge your Jackery?
I can't with my dog. It takes 8+ hours to fully charge.
