Back in 2015 Samsung took away SD card option and water resistance from Galaxy S6 then when people raged about it Samsung added it back on Galaxy S7. Also, in 2021 the S21 was released without having in-built Spen and Spen was sold separately and when people complained Samsung gave in-built Spen starting with Galaxy S22

The hardware upgrade is negligible but the S Pen downgrade the biggest deal breaker for am avid S Pen user like me, the remote shutter feature was amazing, I don't understand why they would get rid of it. The software upgrade is the bigger thing here, and that would come to the older phones soon
It is annoying, and I considered getting an S24u instead because of it, but if you have a watch you can do it on there, just set a 2sec timer, actual remote shutters are also cheap and can hide in your hand easier anyway
@@Dyl-275 Getting a 24U wouldn't be a bad idea. The 25U's hardware seems to be almost identical, except the new CPU which is a big boost, and the new 50MP ultra wide camera. But at the same time, The 24U's CPU is already a beast and I don't know if there's any task demanding enough to justify someone to upgrade. As I said, most of the big changes were on the software front, and the 24 series is already getting 7 years of major software upgrade, so most of those changes would end up on the older phones. Getting a 24U might save you a few bucks and give you almost exactly the same experience without the S-Pen downgrade.

Feature removing is always annoying, but what Samsung did on the S-Pen, its major USP, is a full dealbreaker. Do they really believe that the AI features outweigh this? Really really sad. 😕
I hate AI and I use it less than the s-pen. I hate all the hype around AI, I dont want or need it. Just takes up stupid space goddaayyuuumm. Im mad. But I want it. But still dont want it. 1tb price is almost too good to be true with trade in of s22u 12/256gb and exynos. My battery is also dying when it hits 15%, goes waaay toooo fast!

I'm very disappointed with the downgrade of the S-Pen, as a gymrat, taking pics with my pen is a must feature, and with no changes to charge speeds, feels like they're holding on to some features to blow us away with the next S26? Well at least I hope so. I'm keeping my S24U for a couple more years.
Same old phone, they just improved the software. Could've increase their battery capacity, or could've used the new silicon carbon battery. The bezels on the camera was thicker just to make it look new and ironically it is still the same.
For me there is nothing Samsung needs to improved except camera department. It is really behind than iphone, google, vivo x200pro and even oppo's flagship x find pro. But they are just now focusing on AI . I don't know why they're missing the main issue.

I switched to Apple after the S24 Ultra. The edges hurt my hands lol. I know heaps of people love the flat corners, but I’m glad Samsung went for a more iPhone shape. Don’t know if I can go back though; the iPhone 16 Pro Max is stunning. But I’ll give it a look once the Telcos have it on display, because I love AI and Samsung reigns supreme in that area (imo).
If you can afford, you can get a second phone. I use both ecosystems with a Z fold 6 and a vanilla iphone 15. Other devices are the galaxy buds 3 pro, galaxy watch ultra, m2 ipad air and m2 mac mini.
@ I don’t like mixing ecosystems. It annoys me for some reason lol. E.g. I used AirPods with my Android devices, and even though they worked fine, I always felt weird. I also usually trade in my current phone for whatever new one I get. I don’t need multiple phones. I need to see these in person, to get the vibe, otherwise I’ll just stick with iPhone.

What a joke of an upgrade, both Apple & Samsung have gotten together behind closed doors and agreed to not compete with each other in order to limit consumer choice and competition. I used to buy a new phone every year sometimes even twice a year because I liked both iPhone and Galaxy, now I haven’t changed in almost two years because I refuse to give either of them any money for these so called “upgrades”.

Yes, they do. A summary of what you're reading is the biggest AI draw in my opinion, and I could care less honestly. I love my S Pen.

Was upgrading a S22U to the S25U but... the No S Pen Shutter button is a game changer for me. Canceled S25U order til i find out if S25U camera supports aftermarket shutter release.
