honestly I like Bixby now, she does things that I've noticed Google assistant won't do, like setting location specific reminders or event specific ones.

I actually like Bixby...for ultra simple tasks like opening a rarely used app that I don't want on my homescreen. I just hold the Bixby button, say the name of the app, like "Costco", not even "Open Costco". I just say "Costco" then release the button. And it is by far the fastest, most snappy voice assistant I've ever used. Not very smart, but that's when I have the Gemini voice assistant set to a swipe from the bottom corner of my screen for more complex use cases.
And before that it was the optical zoom, down from 10x to 5x. Despite what they say, it's not the same. I do a lot of nature/animal/long distance photography and the S24 and S25 are a straight downgrade over the S23. Especially now the pen is worse too. Sad to see.

I have an S23 Ultra, removal of Bluetooth from the S Pen is nothing but just Samsung being cheap. The remote shutter is brilliant for taking group photos or when you have your phone on a tripod and don't want to shake it by pressing the phone. Air actions made the S Pen something more than just a tiny stylus, I use the phone as my primary note-taking device in meetings. And most importantly, when you lose Bluetooth connection to the S Pen your phone alerts you that you forgot it.
If they won't add back the Bluetooth functionality I won't be upgrading to another Samsung Ultra/Note phone in the future. There's just no point anymore. There are phones with a better camera or battery, the outstanding feature can now be replaced by a 3$ pen with a touch sensitive tip.
@Soldiershak The phone is being sold at 1300€. They already took the charger out. What do you mean, "don't use, don't need"? I believe you are not using the full Triple AAA experience, so you should think about downgrading to what you need instead of saying what is okay to take and still charge for (speacially since AI is only free until end of year)
@@MrDaveSkysomeone can still use the build in spen and not use the Bluetooth aspects of it therefore still needs the ultra lol I never used the spen to take a picture lol use my watch if I absolutely have to.
The bluetooth on the spen is good for navigating apps while using the spen. I use it when my pen is my primary interaction with the screen, which happens for me at least three times a day.
I've been waiting for them to add the integrated s pen to the fold solely for the Bluetooth capabilities. I havent upgraded past z fold 3 because zero progress on this, and even got a free upgrade to a 4. They don't know what all of their customers want, they are paring down to the average person user who scrolls on TikTok and wants ai features to make the act of opening apps easier when they can't find them
"Bluetooth Low Energy is not supported on the Galaxy S25 Ultra" is by far the absolute worst way Samsung could have worded this. BLE is no longer supported on the *_S Pen_*, not the S25 Ultra itself. Holy sh*t, Samsung.
So could you use an older s pen with it then? I feel like if the issue was with the s pen itself and not the phone then people wouldn't be as pissed off about it. Sure, it would be BS to have to buy another pen, but it would be a solution. Someone should test it
It's not going to because its a rapidly evolving market and capitalism loves rapidly evolving markets, it probably going to slow down but I don't see AI leaving any time soon
Literally the only reason I would ever use the S Pen is for the bluetooth actions. If you're going to take up 3x the space of a headphone jack and not even make it function properly, just take it out and replace it with a headphone jack. You have zero excuse to have a giant pen in there that does nothing and then say "There's no room for the headphone jack :("

No removable battery. No headphone jack. No SD card. No bluetooth pen. No thank you. Samsung has lost me as customer for awhile. I used to buy every new Samsung top of the line phone, in the highest memory category. However I stopped years ago. In the last 5 years they have removed every single hardware feature I need, and replaced it with lame software replacements/buy more stuff to KINDA get old features back GIMMICKS. I have happily been using refurb phones for almost a decade, and its funny becuase when people with the new fancy phones, see I have removable storage and all the features Samsung used to be known for, they literally think I have some kind of newer phone😂 Nope. This used to be the standard. Now planned obsolescence is all Samsung cares about😂.
I went with vivo about 2 years ago from being a diehard Samsung fan and I'm not looking back! The vivo has better reception and Bluetooth capabilities compared to my friends s24 ultra and my friends iPhone 15 pro max all on the same carrier btw where they have 2 bars, I usually have 4 lol
Luckily in a year or two, companies will be forced to get rid of the uni-body design and have to have a removable back, with components able to be repaired/replaced by the consumer due to legislation that's been passed. Thank God for consumer friendly rulings rather than allowing companies to take full advantage of customers. Now if only we could remove the S pen, make the corners, sides, and edges rounded, bring back 10x optical zoom, and a SD slot, then they'll actually have a phone comparable to what they had like you said 5 years ago. Crazy how phones of old are actually superior to new phones...
They go on huge discounts sometimes, and those things are pretty durable tbh. "Child" probably means like 6 and up when you might want to ensure they have a way to call you, and at that age, most are unlikely to go around destroying things.
I put mine on my kid sometimes, when she's going to be in range but not in sight - like in mazes. There is a place near us that is basically a McD's play place but HUGE with trampolines, slides, and enough tubes and things to climb to keep any kid happy. If I sit on the parent bench in the middle, she's never too far from my phone to disconnect. Can't say she didn't know I was looking for her if I'm making her arm buzz.
The S Pen downgrade is an absolute deal-breaker for me! To be fair, I already own a Galaxy S23 Ultra and plan to hold onto it as long as I can, so I wasn’t planning to upgrade to this generation anyway. But this change feels like such a shortsighted decision. I’ve been a loyal S Pen user since my Galaxy Note 9, which I got back in 2018. I use the S Pen every single day-whether it’s for taking photos with the button, playing and pausing music, or navigating my device. The Bluetooth functionality is a key feature that enhances the S Pen experience, and seeing it downgraded is incredibly frustrating. What annoys me most is Samsung’s justification for this move: claiming “not enough people use the feature.” Let’s not forget that Samsung itself merged the Galaxy and Note lines, effectively forcing all users into one product lineup. Before the merge, Galaxy users weren’t even thinking about an S Pen-they bought their phones specifically because they didn’t want or need a stylus. Of course, many of them aren’t going to use the S Pen to its full potential or even understand its capabilities. But for those of us who chose the Note series specifically because of the S Pen, this feels like a slap in the face. This trend of companies removing features to save money, just because “not everyone uses them,” is frustrating and alienates loyal customers. It’s a lazy approach to product development. Instead of taking features away, Samsung should focus on building upon their products. If cost-cutting is truly necessary, they could at least preserve these premium features in the Ultra line or introduce an “Ultra Pro” model to cater to enthusiasts who actually use them. Stop dumbing down your products and start rewarding the customers who appreciate and rely on the innovations that made Samsung unique in the first place.
I really wish they would separate the Galaxy and Note lines, I don't need the additional features the Galaxy line offers, just give me a nice stylus experience.
All I ask is a good stylus and some expandable storage like I had on the note 10! What do I get? A crappy excuse of a gas station touch pen and no expandable storage NOR the aux jack. It is disgusting, insulting and I feel spat upon by this company!
As an artist it's quite sad that they're removing that. I was hoping bluetooth styluses would become more common on phones, making precise drawing on the go possible, something going into the direction of like an Apple pen mini :/
Same here! I jumped into the s-pen game with the note 9 as well and upgraded to the s23 ultra and it was such a good decision and ngl samsung makes it easy for us to save our money with those weird decisions. I won't upgrade until the s23 ultra is getting slow and not receiving any updates anymore, then again, upgrading a phone is only reaaally necessary after 4 years? Because the jump in technology will never be that insane that it justifies paying 1200€+ again after just such a small amount of time.
S-Pen here since the 8 and I don't use it often, but my phone is the one we take all the selfies on, so I kept buying them. Guess I'll buy a Sony or something and a smart watch (like I used before s pen)
Literally everyone i ever spoke to who had the S-pen with bluetooth ONLY ever used it for it's bluetooth functions, especially the camera shutter one.. myself included... so they basically made the s25 ultra's s-pen a useless gimmick?
It became niche again, just like the pre-Note9 S-Pens. Only useful for document signers, notetakers, and digital artists, which was the original target demographic for the S-Pen back in 2011
S23 Ultra user here. The Bluetooth features of the S-Pen are crucial to me. I use the pen to start and stop video recordings, take pictures, and generally enjoy the software just a little bit more. I turned my S-Pen cursor into a Wii remote icon. I've even filmed events for people using this feature, setting up the Ultra on a tripod and starting recordings while staying out of the way. Samsung is giving up innovation for AI and it hurts me.

I don't get why companies think people like having AI shoved into everything. Any time they announce a new AI feature the crowd goes silent. Is it so difficult to take a hint?!
These companies don't produce products for the consumer anymore, it's all about that shareholder money now. The whole traditional concept of a "business" (produce product/services, sell to customers, profit) is just gone from today's CEOs, they are all in on that stock market casino

S22 ultra user. Im just now having issies with my phone and signal switching and was looking to get a new one but im definitely not getting a s25 ultra. The s pen bluetooth functionality is the main reason i got this phone and the camera shutter function is one thing i use all the time. Eveytime i use it everyone is amazed like its magic but its literally the most useful thing any phone on the market has. I'll probably just end up getting a s24 ultra used or trade in.
I also have a S24 Ultra and I don't care about the pen at all, they could completely remove it and I wouldn't give it a second thought. Swings and roundabouts I guess.
And somewhere in the fine print, it says any picture you take will be used in their AI. Why worry about using copyrighted works to train your AI, when you can have your customers supplying you with pictures for free.
Samsung isn't getting anything more from me. They wanna focus so much on ai that they just start removing features. Not even keeping it the same as last year just remove stuff

S8+ now A55 And man, idk the removal of features is just blatantly horrible The removal of sd cards support with the flagships Or Removing features like the always on display media control. And especially with the latest earbuds, the galaxy buds 3, they didn't really do anything new it was just a repackaged, more expensive buds, 2 pro Idk either way. All these companies suck and we should vote with our wallets to try and stop this.
It really hurts that the age of hardware innovation came to an end so quickly. They've spent so many resources on ai solutions. If they spent half as much development time on hardware solutions they could make the ai work even better. But instead we get unexcused removals of features and unexplained lack of innovation year after year while keeping the prices the same and even $100 more than the Note 10. Ai aperture? Interestingly, I work in phone repair, and although I myself don't care too much about phone news, it is good for me to keep up with it for when customers have questions etc. this short format for new phone stuff is actually great. Gives just enough to ask questions in my company chat etc.
As someone with the Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra I don't regret my purchasing decision even though the long-term you use it the more you get used to it and then it doesn't feel new again after owning it for a few months
I regret not buying one this time last year when my base s21 stopped reading my sim card. I absolutely would have bought one black Friday if I even heard the rumor that they were going to remove Bluetooth from the s-pen. I even own a samsung watch and could use that to take photos, but I'm not about to reward samsung for this behavior.
It feels like companies don't seem to grasp that NOBODY GIVES AF about AI for phones and shit. The only people that care about that crap as a selling point is shareholders. We all already know it's not really AI it's just machine learning (Which is a terrible name for it because it's not learning at all)

That crocs case is CURSED. The appeal of Crocs are they're loose, comfortable, and easy to get on. Style was never the selling point, because they have none. Crocs people went all in on comfort and convenience, and I respect that as a Birkenstock sandal person. But we understand the trade we made.
I was about to upgrade from my S23U, but getting rid of the BT S pen features was an Apple move. Don't decide for me that a feature is useless. And if that was really the case, why hasn't the price of the phone changed to match the feature removal?
You have to understand Riley when there's so little going for a new phone vs it's old one, every useful feature removed actually can be a deal breaker that tips the scales to "ehhh I think I will just keep my S22U" 😂
I'm still using my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The only thing I use the s pen for is to play some puzzle games. Didn't even know it had a Bluetooth function 😂

One of the benefits I've found of still rocking my 'old' S21 Ultra is that while it's still just as snappy as always apparently, it's too stupid for AI. Dodged a bullet with that one. Seriously, this video was end to end suck. Not because of you Riley, you're entertaining as always but this timeline just blows chunks.
I still have an S20 and I have never seen a reason to even bother 'upgrading', and at this point I don't think I ever will if this is the latest offering.
I've still got my 21 Ultra with the big beefy pen you can get for it, one of the reasons I'm not upgrading is because I like the size of the 21's pen over the built in ones

Of course. This might be it. This might be when I switch to an Apple phone. I had the Note 20 Ultra which was my absolute favorite phone. The battery wasn't holding a charge anymore, so I switched to the Fold 5. Got the "S Pen Case", and quickly found that it didn't have bluetooth. I hate the Fold 5 SO MUCH. The fingerprint scanner is utter garbage (it unlocks in my pocket CONSTANTLY) and often times SLOW (when I had it set to push button to wake, I would often click it multiple times because it didn't react, and that would turn it back OFF). The Note 20 Ultra's in-screen unlock was fantastic. I hate this phone and have been waiting for months for the S25 so I can go back to what I had... and once again... they scrapped something. Samsung's Gear VR: Killed Samsung's IR blaster: Killed Samsung's LIDAR sensor: Killed Samsung's Linux on Dex: Killed Samsung Micro SD Card: Killed Samsung S Pen w/ bluetooth: Killed It's become a pattern with Samsung: Add cool feature. Come out with new phone without previous feature. Repeat.
It's just marketing.. they think that everyone is stupid, and can't remember what was before.. imagine a company who mock others with "Your phone upgrade shouldn't be a downgrade".. and downgrading their products too (well not like they never did the same before, just after the no headphone jack, no SDcard slot and no charger in the box mocking video their next phone arrived..)
I mean, while I don't agree with Samsung removing features, they can easily now, as your phone is full of sensors and tracks everything you do, this information is sent to Samsung for sure. With sensors, the phone can now if you are walking, driving a car, if your phone fell off, etc. For sure they know how you use your stylus.
How olds? My parents are in their 60s couldn't care less for personal use. And my mom even works with AI in the medical field. If my grandparents were alive they wouldn't even know it existed.
I use the bluetooth features on my spen most days...so the s25 ultra is completely out for sure. Someone said that if you get an old bluetooth enabled pen it can be made to work, but not sure if anyone has confirmed that.
Never used the BT function of the s-pen, got tired of the annoying disconnect notifications it would throw out even when the pen was in it's slot. So if those are gone then it's no loss for me.
I actually am glad they got rid of the Bluetooth spen. The amount of times I was trying to take a note and accidentally started playing music out loud in public was really annoying.
265 kbit (compressed) audio is actually really good. The max mp3s can support is 320 kbit and at that point it's almost lossless compression. Its hard to find songs higher than 256 kbit unless you go on those really expensive audiophile websites.
"No one used the feature" Pretty sure they didn't do a market research. I don't even use a smasnug but if I had the bluetooth pen I would use that feature a lot.
Damnit first they take my headphone jack so now i have to connect my headphones with some extra 3.5mm to usb connector. Then at least I get the Spen which allows me to walk around with it in my hand to pause/play and skip songs without having my phone in my hand simply by holding the button and moving my hand a little left or right. Very useful! By far the biggest usecase for the pen for me and the reason why I'd go out of my way to have one. And then they pull this "nobody was using the Bluetooth features anyway" shit. Yeah I get they want me to buy some clunky ass watch to control my music, but 1: expensive 2: I don't like having things attached to my wrist 3: it looks even goofier.
The S Pen is one of those things that most people probably don't use, but for those that do, it's a lifesaver. There's nothing else like it out there, the precision, the speed and ease of note taking, and using it like a camera shutter is amazing. The moment they start downgrading the pen is the moment I'm not upgrading to a Samsung anymore. Looks like I'll probably go to a Sony Xperia then, or maybe even an iPhone. Hey, why settle for a copy when you can just get the real thing.
Fun Fact: When first gestated in the LTT Labs Riley was blue. He looked too much like a hyper Smurf so they went back to the drawing board to give you the Canadian Mustache you know and love.
I used that use that Bluetooth feature about 1000 fold more than I do Bixby or Gemini. Mostly because for both of those assistants, the primary thing I do with them is: A) Disable their ability to access my data, via sending them an email and turning off all data collection features. B) Turn them off and remap the 'Boxby' button to do something else. So yah.... Gonna pass until this AI BS passes and the S26 or S27 has some real features and not AI nonsense. Samsung did the same thing with the Clock Wheel on the watch, but brought it back after customers were pissed. So, waiting for that.
AI is not going to pass, it just won't be a hype buzzword anymore and you'll get use to it just like we got used to smart tv and smart phone etc and we just call it TV or phone
tbh i think it being an Ultra and marketed as a "flagship" should mean it must have all the features. sure it has this and that chip, blablabla, but can it do this? s25 ultra can never, unlike the s24 ultra (in regards to remote spen) it's like one of those small things that matter and some people have a need for certain things (like that remote function of the spen), in certain occasions. having an extra is what makes a flagship, a flagship. like an all-in-one type of deal. UNLESS samsung wanna make it like an add-on like u gotta pay for spen with bluetooth just because u dont use it, it doesnt mean that its useless

No, UA-cam, 256kbps is not "High Quality" audio. MP3 from over a decade ago still beats it out at 320. Stop lying. We're watching videos at multiple 10's of MEGABYTES per second. 400-600kbps of audio data is not gonna make a meaningful dent in people's connection speeds.
As a content creator, that S-Pen remote record button has been very useful on my S23 Ultra. If not for that, I don't really need the S-Pen. Plus the new phones no longer have the 10x optical zoom. Honestly if the S26 Ultra doesn't bring this stuff back, I might switch to a Sony phone next, for a better camera and maybe even get a headphone jack back.
Yep, I use the 10x all the time and if Samsung wants to charge more and remove features, I'd love a headphone jack. We can join Dan in the Xperia army!

I never use the bluetooth capabilities of the pen. I just use it as a normal S pen.

Voice commands have always been better than the Harry Potter wand for those selfies
you can just wave at your phone to make a photo, at least thats how i do it

I believe you are not using the full Triple AAA experience, so you should think about downgrading to what you need instead of saying what is okay to take and still charge for (speacially since AI is only free until end of year)

The bluetooth on the spen is good for navigating apps while using the spen. I use it when my pen is my primary interaction with the screen, which happens for me at least three times a day.
I've been waiting for them to add the integrated s pen to the fold solely for the Bluetooth capabilities. I havent upgraded past z fold 3 because zero progress on this, and even got a free upgrade to a 4. They don't know what all of their customers want, they are paring down to the average person user who scrolls on TikTok and wants ai features to make the act of opening apps easier when they can't find them
"Bluetooth Low Energy is not supported on the Galaxy S25 Ultra" is by far the absolute worst way Samsung could have worded this. BLE is no longer supported on the *_S Pen_*, not the S25 Ultra itself. Holy sh*t, Samsung.
So could you use an older s pen with it then? I feel like if the issue was with the s pen itself and not the phone then people wouldn't be as pissed off about it. Sure, it would be BS to have to buy another pen, but it would be a solution. Someone should test it

Samsung has lost me as customer for awhile. I used to buy every new Samsung top of the line phone, in the highest memory category. However I stopped years ago. In the last 5 years they have removed every single hardware feature I need, and replaced it with lame software replacements/buy more stuff to KINDA get old features back GIMMICKS.
I have happily been using refurb phones for almost a decade, and its funny becuase when people with the new fancy phones, see I have removable storage and all the features Samsung used to be known for, they literally think I have some kind of newer phone😂

I went with vivo about 2 years ago from being a diehard Samsung fan and I'm not looking back! The vivo has better reception and Bluetooth capabilities compared to my friends s24 ultra and my friends iPhone 15 pro max all on the same carrier btw where they have 2 bars, I usually have 4 lol
Luckily in a year or two, companies will be forced to get rid of the uni-body design and have to have a removable back, with components able to be repaired/replaced by the consumer due to legislation that's been passed. Thank God for consumer friendly rulings rather than allowing companies to take full advantage of customers. Now if only we could remove the S pen, make the corners, sides, and edges rounded, bring back 10x optical zoom, and a SD slot, then they'll actually have a phone comparable to what they had like you said 5 years ago. Crazy how phones of old are actually superior to new phones...

They go on huge discounts sometimes, and those things are pretty durable tbh. "Child" probably means like 6 and up when you might want to ensure they have a way to call you, and at that age, most are unlikely to go around destroying things.
I put mine on my kid sometimes, when she's going to be in range but not in sight - like in mazes. There is a place near us that is basically a McD's play place but HUGE with trampolines, slides, and enough tubes and things to climb to keep any kid happy. If I sit on the parent bench in the middle, she's never too far from my phone to disconnect. Can't say she didn't know I was looking for her if I'm making her arm buzz.
The S Pen downgrade is an absolute deal-breaker for me! To be fair, I already own a Galaxy S23 Ultra and plan to hold onto it as long as I can, so I wasn’t planning to upgrade to this generation anyway. But this change feels like such a shortsighted decision. I’ve been a loyal S Pen user since my Galaxy Note 9, which I got back in 2018. I use the S Pen every single day-whether it’s for taking photos with the button, playing and pausing music, or navigating my device. The Bluetooth functionality is a key feature that enhances the S Pen experience, and seeing it downgraded is incredibly frustrating.
What annoys me most is Samsung’s justification for this move: claiming “not enough people use the feature.” Let’s not forget that Samsung itself merged the Galaxy and Note lines, effectively forcing all users into one product lineup. Before the merge, Galaxy users weren’t even thinking about an S Pen-they bought their phones specifically because they didn’t want or need a stylus. Of course, many of them aren’t going to use the S Pen to its full potential or even understand its capabilities. But for those of us who chose the Note series specifically because of the S Pen, this feels like a slap in the face.
This trend of companies removing features to save money, just because “not everyone uses them,” is frustrating and alienates loyal customers. It’s a lazy approach to product development. Instead of taking features away, Samsung should focus on building upon their products. If cost-cutting is truly necessary, they could at least preserve these premium features in the Ultra line or introduce an “Ultra Pro” model to cater to enthusiasts who actually use them.
Stop dumbing down your products and start rewarding the customers who appreciate and rely on the innovations that made Samsung unique in the first place.
I really wish they would separate the Galaxy and Note lines, I don't need the additional features the Galaxy line offers, just give me a nice stylus experience.

I jumped into the s-pen game with the note 9 as well and upgraded to the s23 ultra and it was such a good decision and ngl samsung makes it easy for us to save our money with those weird decisions. I won't upgrade until the s23 ultra is getting slow and not receiving any updates anymore, then again, upgrading a phone is only reaaally necessary after 4 years? Because the jump in technology will never be that insane that it justifies paying 1200€+ again after just such a small amount of time.

S23 Ultra user here. The Bluetooth features of the S-Pen are crucial to me. I use the pen to start and stop video recordings, take pictures, and generally enjoy the software just a little bit more. I turned my S-Pen cursor into a Wii remote icon. I've even filmed events for people using this feature, setting up the Ultra on a tripod and starting recordings while staying out of the way.
Samsung is giving up innovation for AI and it hurts me.

S22 ultra user. Im just now having issies with my phone and signal switching and was looking to get a new one but im definitely not getting a s25 ultra. The s pen bluetooth functionality is the main reason i got this phone and the camera shutter function is one thing i use all the time. Eveytime i use it everyone is amazed like its magic but its literally the most useful thing any phone on the market has. I'll probably just end up getting a s24 ultra used or trade in.

Interestingly, I work in phone repair, and although I myself don't care too much about phone news, it is good for me to keep up with it for when customers have questions etc. this short format for new phone stuff is actually great. Gives just enough to ask questions in my company chat etc.
As someone with the Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra I don't regret my purchasing decision even though the long-term you use it the more you get used to it and then it doesn't feel new again after owning it for a few months
I regret not buying one this time last year when my base s21 stopped reading my sim card. I absolutely would have bought one black Friday if I even heard the rumor that they were going to remove Bluetooth from the s-pen. One of the benefits I've found of still rocking my 'old' S21 Ultra is that while it's still just as snappy as always apparently, it's too stupid for AI. Dodged a bullet with that one. This is a bad idea on so many levels.
Of course. This might be it. This might be when I switch to an Apple phone. I had the Note 20 Ultra which was my absolute favorite phone. The battery wasn't holding a charge anymore, so I switched to the Fold 5. Got the "S Pen Case", and quickly found that it didn't have bluetooth. I hate the Fold 5 SO MUCH. The fingerprint scanner is utter garbage (it unlocks in my pocket CONSTANTLY) and often times SLOW (when I had it set to push button to wake, I would often click it multiple times because it didn't react, and that would turn it back OFF).
The Note 20 Ultra's in-screen unlock was fantastic. I hate this phone and have been waiting for months for the S25 so I can go back to what I had... and once again... they scrapped something.

I mean, while I don't agree with Samsung removing features, they can easily now, as your phone is full of sensors and tracks everything you do, this information is sent to Samsung for sure. With sensors, the phone can now if you are walking, driving a car, if your phone fell off, etc. For sure they know how you use your stylus.

I use the bluetooth features on my spen most days...so the s25 ultra is completely out for sure. Someone said that if you get an old bluetooth enabled pen it can be made to work, but not sure if anyone has confirmed that.

Never used the BT function of the s-pen, got tired of the annoying disconnect notifications it would throw out even when the pen was in it's slot. So if those are gone then it's no loss for me.

I actually am glad they got rid of the Bluetooth spen. The amount of times I was trying to take a note and accidentally started playing music out loud in public was really annoying.

265 kbit (compressed) audio is actually really good. The max mp3s can support is 320 kbit and at that point it's almost lossless compression. Its hard to find songs higher than 256 kbit unless you go on those really expensive audiophile websites.
Consider it safe to assume that if it’s below 320 then it’s not high quality. More than good enough, but leaving plenty of room for more fidelity
UA-cam uses Opus. 256kbps Opus audio is far past the point of transparency, but obviously still not lossless.

Damnit first they take my headphone jack so now i have to connect my headphones with some extra 3.5mm to usb connector. Then at least I get the Spen which allows me to walk around with it in my hand to pause/play and skip songs without having my phone in my hand simply by holding the button and moving my hand a little left or right. Very useful! By far the biggest usecase for the pen for me and the reason why I'd go out of my way to have one.
And then they pull this "nobody was using the Bluetooth features anyway" shit. Yeah I get they want me to buy some clunky ass watch to control my music, but 1: expensive 2: I don't like having things attached to my wrist 3: it looks even goofier.
The S Pen is one of those things that most people probably don't use, but for those that do, it's a lifesaver. There's nothing else like it out there, the precision, the speed and ease of note taking, and using it like a camera shutter is amazing. The moment they start downgrading the pen is the moment I'm not upgrading to a Samsung anymore. Looks like I'll probably go to a Sony Xperia then, or maybe even an iPhone. Hey, why settle for a copy when you can just get the real thing.

I used that use that Bluetooth feature about 1000 fold more than I do Bixby or Gemini.
Mostly because for both of those assistants, the primary thing I do with them is:
A) Disable their ability to access my data, via sending them an email and turning off all data collection features.
B) Turn them off and remap the 'Boxby' button to do something else.
So yah.... Gonna pass until this AI BS passes and the S26 or S27 has some real features and not AI nonsense.
Samsung did the same thing with the Clock Wheel on the watch, but brought it back after customers were pissed.
So, waiting for that.

tbh i think it being an Ultra and marketed as a "flagship" should mean it must have all the features. sure it has this and that chip, blablabla, but can it do this? s25 ultra can never, unlike the s24 ultra (in regards to remote spen)
it's like one of those small things that matter and some people have a need for certain things (like that remote function of the spen), in certain occasions. having an extra is what makes a flagship, a flagship. like an all-in-one type of deal.

No, UA-cam, 256kbps is not "High Quality" audio. MP3 from over a decade ago still beats it out at 320. Stop lying. We're watching videos at multiple 10's of MEGABYTES per second. 400-600kbps of audio data is not gonna make a meaningful dent in people's connection speeds.
As a content creator, that S-Pen remote record button has been very useful on my S23 Ultra. If not for that, I don't really need the S-Pen. Plus the new phones no longer have the 10x optical zoom. Honestly if the S26 Ultra doesn't bring this stuff back, I might switch to a Sony phone next, for a better camera and maybe even get a headphone jack back.
Yep, I use the 10x all the time and if Samsung wants to charge more and remove features, I'd love a headphone jack. We can join Dan in the Xperia army!
