I've always wondered what the other eastern airlines were like. So thanks for sharing. I like Emirates A380. More leg room and bigger entertainment screen. 😊
flying out direct from Heathrow on 3rd aug to bkk 550 I paid😊😊
I have no idea why they tried to rip you for £35 at check in
All the seats become "free" once online check in opens......Out of order from Etihad to say the least
Charging for a window seat at check in, airlines getting tighter and tighter even though base prices are still high.
Hi Paul great videos as usual after being going to Thailand in Pattaya for a 55 times in 24 years I think I know what I'm talking about navigate taxis from the Bangkok airport go down to the bottom floor where the train goes into Bangkok and get a Bell's bus on ground floor cost about 120 baht £3 getting there in the same time
Manchester has become 200 pounds more expensive than heathrow. Airport tax has gone up from q90 to 390 in 2 years. It isn't going to go down. Also there is a tighten of flights from Manchester due to the airport stating staff shortages
It also encapsulated the happiness and excitement of going on your holidays, a feeling that can't be beaten 😊
As soon as I heard that track I thought yes that's the one for this video deffo OMD x
@@whoknowswhere You always have impeccable taste and a discerning ear musically for the videos 👍x
Flown 100 times with etihad over 18 years and flying one million miles with them.
What great vid paul u have great dedication to your channel and views to do trip like this thank u so so much
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Paul, looking forward to the reviews of the hotel's. 👍
Another brilliant vlog Paul xx
Enjoyed the video..Entertaining and informative.. Thanks 👍
I had a return flight last month with one stop with Oman Air. No more than 2 hours wait in Oman. £525 from Heathrow.
Good vlog always wanted to go to Thailand but the length of the journey 😮 🍻
Thanks for the video Paul. Have a friend who is planning to relocate to Malaysia and has visited Bangkok numerous times, so is somewhere I have always fancied. This will help me gain a better understanding of what is involved.
I used to fly with etihad 3 times a year Manchester to Bangkok for over 10 years. Top airline but now they only fly one time a day at 8 o'clock in the morning and I don't do early morning flights. I was a gold card member and got upgraded regularly to business class. Ive had all the travel complications like delayed and canceled flights and delayed luggage and every time they took care of everything. Now I fly with Qatar which are just as good.
Wot a great video paul loved watching this makes me want to go on holiday
Glad you enjoyed it
That was a great travel vlog didn't think the price was to bad Paul but to long a journey thanks for sharing 👍 ❤❤
There's nothing quite joining the main road out of the airport and remembering certain landmarks that tell you that you're heading back to Pattaya. It's totally enthralling and I don't get the same buzz from traveling to any other destination. £25.83p is the cab fare.(Just to split atoms🤣) I'm saving up to be a miser, so I use the bus or occasionally the train. It adds an extra hour but pays for the 1st night accommodation, but I've kinda quit staying in budget places and I'm prepared to spend B1000 a night including a nice pool. I usually go for between a month or 6 weeks and plan for two trips a year including The Philippines for 8-10 days to see a good pal there.
Have a safe trip and I'm looking forward to seeing your next video, as there's nothing quite like a few weeks in Pattaya, Phuket or Chiang Mai.
LHR/BKK for me, Thai or Eva airways direct flights, costs average £800 round trip, 12 hours approx flights and 3.5hrs by car to lhr or 5/6hrs by coach,. its a long slog whatever way you do it, On my return flight from BKK to LHR to home by car is usually leave bkk 1pm (thai time) land lhr 7.30pm (uk time) home 11.30pm total time 16/18 hours,.grab 4/5 hours +or- on the plane, boeing 777er,.heathrow T2 is a good terminal and flights are pretty punctual to,.oh and free seat choice on Thai and Eva when you do online check in, or ask at bag drop (25kg)max,.
Alright Mike. How did u book your flights? Have they phone offices in England?
@@RichardAlsop-np2nr Book Thai and Eva on their booking websites, credit or debit cards, ive also used "Dialaflight" (phone bookings only) and once used kayak or skyscanner, but i find direct airline bookings are the safest bet, and flight date changes (especially with Thai) are cheap and easy,. I changed return dates twice with Thai on my last trip in 2023 and it was an unbelievable 30 pence the 1st time and £73 the 2nd time, all done online and facebook messenger,. I booked economy tkts also, plus free seat choice when you do online check in with Thai, safe travels cheers,.
Great Vlog. I love the take off landing parts. Food you know me and rice......No! No! NO! Love the vlog thankyou Paul great ❤work ❤
Great video from Manchester to Pattaya, been there many times myself over the years. . .If I can ask you a question...how do you make your thumbnail pictures for your videos which website or app do you use ? thanks
canva
Fantastic vlog. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a brilliant vlog Paul! It's certainly a journey that requires commitment and dedicated planning. I loved this in depth, insightful chronicling and filming of every part of your travel. Excuse me for mentioning the music, it was New Order esque with the Peter Hook sounding bass line most apt for Manchester! The on flight ✈️ provision looked excellent and the views fricking awesome. And so our weary traveller taking us WKW and back again you have shown us a valuable example of travel to Thailand at a very reasonable cost. Thank you 😊x
You said that when you checked in you would have to pay £35 for each of the two flights for a window seat??? My experience is that you only have to pay if you book your seats well in advance. At check in there's no charge
Hi Paul,
Thought the price was very reasonable, very long journey though. Enjoy your sleep. Thanks Paul.
Good video enjoyed it. I fly from Heathrow with EVA. Good to see other airlines. One question how do you fly economy long haul? Saying that it looked good. Looking forward to the next one
Not sure what you mean Etihad was ok not the best seat but legroom was ok, still a bit of a killer but, it's all down to cost
@@whoknowswhereI meant your seat and leg room looked ok. I get that.
@@SBBoy68 yes it was Qatar the leg room is crap
That was the reason years ago I went business class. Bad experience between two large lads. Never again. Those days business class wasn’t as expensive as it is today. KLM used to be good value for money.
Would have loved to have known what your review of the airline was eg: Comfort, Service, food etc.
Halfway around the globe 🌍 although not direct although roughly you got as far as the middle of Asia on one flight from Manchester Airport.I didn't know that Manchester went that far east and would have said Turkey being the limit if I had been asked to guess.
Superb
You did over pay for the taxi , I’m back in 2 weeks and Tony taxi only charge 1000 baht to Pattaya
We flew on flight EY016 last month from Manchester (going to Sri Lanka) but despite paying for pre-allocated seats didn`t get any of them because Etihad made multiple changes to our flights and aircraft, including last minute cancellations or changes, between booking and boarding the plane. The IFE was mediocre and food okay. Next time we`re planning to fly with Emirates or Qatar.
I've flown twice now with Qatar Airways to both Sri Lanka and India , and they were both really pleasurable.
@@darrenwarby32 do they use narrow body aircraft on the leg to Colombo, and do those have seatback IFE? When we return to Sri Lanka we hope to fly with Qatar, and if not then Emirates.
@@TravelAnorak we flew from Doha to colombo on a narrow plane , Air Sri Lanka .
Hi Paul I have never been on a long haul flight tbh not been on holiday abroad for about 27 years other than an odd weekend in Holland, Did the flight times drag or go by quickly? Thought the taxi from the airport was very good value from my home to manchester airport just over an hour away is over£200 return
The journey is a killer the return was better
@@whoknowswhere For the first time, I was given a sleeping pill for the journey there and back
then a long flight is perfectly manageable... without a pill... it is indeed a challenge
I think it’s easiest way split in Middle East, I done bcn Dubai then Dubai to Phuket easiest 2 flights I been on 6 and half then 7 and a half ish had alot edibles but such a easy flight on Emirates 👍🏻
Good price.
One way? I was under the impression arrivals had to have evidence of return or onward flights or risk being turned away by immigration which has always struck me as bonkers cuz maybe some folk want to overland to Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos etc and not leave Thailand by air.
Even so, a few people (including some Thai friends) insist a return or ongoing flight proof of booking is required.
Any help please, people????
I was a return flight but I only recorded the way there so its half the price, still a cheap flight
Do you have more info on the flight booking ect
Search with Skyscanner then check feedback for cheapest travel agent booked and once confirmed phone Emirates for confirmation they confirmed and sent booking details to me
£362 mate that is cheap cheap. Let me know how u got it cheers. 23hrs the usual. Looked an easier transfer than Dubai.
Skyscanner looked for the cheapest company checked there feedback booked it then contacted the flight company confirmed and asked them to send the booking details through
Price for a one way ticket!
How did you get in, they usually want a return ticket or onward flight.
Well, Etihad. Do you still have to take a bus from the aircraft to the terminal?
Middle East Airlines tend to drop you in the airport at 3 in the morning for a 2 - 3 hour transfer.
And that security check for Etihad is horrendous.
I don't fly Etihad anymore.
There are better options.
The price was half the return as I only recorded the journey there so double for return still a cheap flight and no I did have to take a terminal bus
@whoknowswhere
Well, that is an improvement.
I’ve just booked with Qatar on August 23rd Manchester to Bangkok returning 15 days later £750 with a 2 hour layover in Doha.
Taxi from Airport to Pattaya Hotel 1200 baht including tolls
I always use Pattaya Central for the taxi, book it in the UK pay on arrival at Hotel.
very good, reliable, waiting for you at arrivals with a card with your name on it. Would highly recommend.
why not take the bus to pattaya cost u only 159 baht
The bus takes the same amount of time and is 10% of the cost of a taxi. You then take a taxi from the bus station in Jomtien to Pattaya for a couple hundred baht I think.
@@britishknight1534 Jomtien to pattaya 50 baht maximum take the baht bus cost you only 10 baht
@@zzapp72 I didn't know there was baht bus that connected the 2. How far into Pattaya does it go?
Excellent vlog as usual Paul !
You mentioned you’ve travelled with Qatar…. Did you vlog this ? …link?
We are travelling Qatar to Doha and on to Australia next February and interested to get your take on Qatar airways
Thanks as ever for great content, and entertainment well produced
I wasn't doing the channel then
Had an idea that was the case . Thanks for your prompt response Paul👍🏻
Hello Did you Get 30 day or 60 Day visa on arrival, should be 60 day from last month
No visa just passport stamped for 30 days
You looked a bit tired at the end Paul😴 Did you not get any sleep on the plane?
Not really horrible flight
I bet you are shattered, its an ordeal and you certainly need more than a week lol !
So you should be able to see other areas while your there 😊
Where did get that flight cost did you use Air miles as I have never seen a flight from Manchester to Bangkok one way that cheap?
Skyscanner them booked direct
There are cheap flights we are going with Singapore for 613 return but they have far better service than etihad
How much did the flight cost one way ?
Hi its at the end of the video I say it
How did you get that price,I live in Bangkok iam going back at the end of the month I pay around £450. Now they are asking £800 -£600 can you help with how you got that price all the best jack
skyscanner cheapest site checked reviews booked through the travel site then contact the airline direct for them to send the confirmation through
@@whoknowswhere or use google flights sometimes cheaper then skyscanner
The only place rice belongs, is in a tin from Ambrosia!!.
So you risked your life flying in a 787 Nightmare Liner, better you than me.
At xmas?1500 + for sure
Gulf air £566 return Manchester to Bangkok
This is peanuts. Absoloutly peanuts. Etihad no matter what beats any of your UK airlines. That's a fact
Next time u take a bus to pattaya cost 159 baht also from Jomtien Busstation to Bangkok airport only 159 baht.. dont use a taxi its a lost of money Buses to pattaya every hour from the airport
You just done 20 + hours getting to Bangkok and your pissing about getting the bus to Pattaya/JOMTIEM,,then a bath bus to near your Hotel.,,A TAXI FROM AIRPORT TO HOTEL 1000, BAHT NO F**KING ABOUT.
Don’t you wear a hat in that sun ???
Yes but not on cam
What a con at airport charging to get a window seat
Great video but can’t stand that ridiculous repetitive music
Great video and music Paul. Next time try turning left instead of right when boarding. . . . . . .
Cheers, John.
If only maybe one day lol
@@whoknowswhereEtihad Business Class is well worth the expense, depending on aircraft type. B787/A350 definitely worth it, the B777 not so much. It’s been a while since I’ve flown Etihad Economy, looks decent. Worth considering for a shorter flight.
Zurich / BKK / Zurich with 🇹🇭 Thai 🇹🇭direct 11 hour flight £ 700 best Option ❤
How the heck you get them that cheap 😮 i just looked now for 1 way in 1 weeks time .. coming up at like 800+
