Thank you for creating this content I was able to fix my daughters iPod touch with out any problems. The step that you showed were very helpful. Saved me a lot of money and hassle.
Very good video.. I had to replace a "shot" battery on my Ipod touch (6) . It's amazing the battery was only a couple of euro & included was a small suction cup & plastic tools. After a gentle heat on the lower adhesive pads the suction cup removed the screen & side clips with very little effort & no damage..
Thanks for this great how-to. I am having problems getting the clips to catch when closing the ipod, especially on the left side where the volume buttons are. Any thoughts? I'm afraid I might break the new screen if I squeeze any harder. Ipod works fine though.
The metal shield that screw down into the frame has small metal catches that clamp onto the plastic screen frame, these need to be carefully bent upward and inward to catch onto the new frame. This happens occasionally to newer screens that are not quite exactly like the original
@@TheFixTech Thanks. I figured it might be the shield. I already removed it and placed it again but no luck. I will try your suggestion now. To be sure I understand this though, from the outside in is base, metal shield and screen frame. Correct?
@@TheFixTech Well, tried it and then the other side wouldn't go down all the way. Screwed around with it too long and ended up with a bunch of lines all over the screen. What a waste of money.
Got one of these 8 GB 4th Gen iPod touch presumably dead with cracked glass and damaged screen. I did replace the original screen with another one from the same Gen 32 GB iPod but with dead touch on mainboard and also the front camera cuz wasn't switching. Now working but black glass instead of white. Only spent 2 USD and time and patience for the replacement process. 4th Gen are tricky and power and volume flex prone to broke with a small error.
Helpful tip: make sure when you connect the screen, don’t screw everything in and close it up before testing to see if it works after replacing the screen!
Hi , I really enjoy your video and it help me changed my iT7 lcd . All seems went well but when I try to close it after changing the antenna port as well, my screen appeared as pitch black. I can turn it on but it shows pitch black only. Not even the logo. May I know what might have caused that and what is the solution? I highly appreciated any reply from you. Thank you 😢
I just used your video for replacing my screen. The screen was not smashed or cracked, but the touch did not work! Everything was going smoothly with the replacement, the video was helpful and I thought it worked. But I turned it on after and the touch still did not work. Any idea what the issue could be? Great video by the way!!
yea i don't have patience for stuff like this, when i was trying to reconnect everything i got pissed off , the power cable broke and i threw the whole thing in the garbage
The iPod touch only uses small adhesive strips near the home button, the rest clamps down with metal and plastic clips located on the screen frame and iPod housing. The factory adhesive strips are very sticky and reusable
Can i buy just the mid frame bezel for my 6th gen A1574 the screen is fine for some reason bezel dried out or ? And came apart in places lifting the screen
Still working on it and gathering parts. It is tough finding original Ford parts (the correct ones anyway), my next two videos will be about the Bronco.
See the very first part is what's wrong with my iPod from daily use its glue gave up wonder how much would cost for someone set back in its correct placement

This video was very helpful. I was able to buy a new screen and repair my ipod at home instead of a shop. Thank you so much!!!
Very relaxing watching you do the repair. Loved the background music
When closing it do i put adhesive at the bottom where it had it or its fine to just leave it without putting
Very good instructional video, well done! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻
Your welcome, Rose!

Where can I buy a screen?
I live in India
Thank you - that's a superb video
Glad it was helpful!
bravo! nicely done.
Good Video, but why didn't you use any adhesive strips when closing it up?
The iPod touch only uses small adhesive strips near the home button, the rest clamps down with metal and plastic clips located on the screen frame and iPod housing. The factory adhesive strips are very sticky and reusable

You can re glue the bezel or yes, you can buy just the frame. Usually an eBay purchase.
How’s the Bronco?
Still working on it and gathering parts. It is tough finding original Ford parts (the correct ones anyway), my next two videos will be about the Bronco.
Can you put the screen of an ipod touch 5 generation on an ipod touch 7 generation?
Yes you can
what if u dont have a heat gun? how do u open it?
You can use a hair dryer as not much heat is needed.
How can I discern which generation it is? And what size screws are those?!?!
There are a couple ways, in the settings app/general/about. Or on the back of the device there will be a model number. Screw size: tiny
