the way Carlton played against Geelong I actually thought we were a premiership chance. They are a shadow of the team that played that day. So disappointed as a fan
All duck or no dinner Need more balance and complexity to their game style Got the list for top 4, mentally tougher than the past, down to coaching and strategy now
Geelong had no Tom Stewart, No Duncan, No Bruhn, No Stanley and and went in without a ruckman. We played our FB as a Ruck. Geelong had also beaten you earlier in the year when they were in a better position. Carlton also beat Geelong by 4-5 goals. Curnow that night kicked 5 goals - 4 from free kicks, Harry McKay kicked 3, 2 from free kicks. It was a false knighthood and laughed at you at the time because anyone could see it wasn’t a legit contender. You barely beat a half Geelong team, you were never a chance.

Gee, as. Bombers fan I thought I was doing it tough!!! In all seriousness how has Essendon, Carlton & even Collingwood dropped off so much. Injuries & other factors aside, there must be something psychological causing it…..

What the hawks have done is recruited for speed and tall’s that’s all they’ve done Essendon did exactly the same thing and it hasn’t worked at least not as well as the hawks some team just play well a certain way and that works for Hawthorn it has for a while!
Carlton with 5 injured players. 4 injured on the bench, and 1 injured player Boyd had to stay out on the field because there was no one else that could come on - that didn't help of course.. There were a couple more partly injured out on that field too. Carlton still played like crap and Hawthorn played great.... No excuses.... But that clearly didn't help.
Voss in his post press conference mentioned a lot about consistency and player availability. "Not sure" why you cut this part. He said this was an issue before he got to Carlton and for some reason it is still a work in progress. So I did some research last night.
The number of players that have played 20 or more games for their team in 2024. As a Hawthorn supporter i am wrapped with the result. But lets take it one week at a time. If i was a Carlton supporter, who have been staved of success since 1995 i would be pretty pissed off. Coaches are always the scapegoat in this type of scenario, so whats the solution. Always look at your cattle first. Players must take more responsibility and be put on notice, just like a real job. 2 warings and your out. Players have had it too easy for too long. If they dont do the job they are paid to do, then sack them.
Can't do much with the injuries they have. The list is playing sore and had one of the hardest draws, playing and beating so many top 8 inform sides. Seasons over but they did what they could when they could.
A lot of Carlton's best 22 are out injured, Probably 10 players now - decimated the season. Great sides cover that. Carlton is not a great side.. Decent side with their best 22.. All sides have injuries though.. Now they're saying Harry McKay is out, so they'll have to put some VFL guys in as the key forwards.. Wasted season..
Need to keep Voss on board, lets see if anything changes under a new fitness guru. Potentially we can still make the 8 but not doing anything in September, I want to see Lord and Moir get a run and maybe Billy Wilson. I am no fan of Binns, he looks like a selfish player, but give him a run as well. No choice now, a pity Mcmahon is VFL listed as he maybe alright forward, a good reader of the play. They should rookie him next year but knowing Carlton they wont.
Gotta get out of the habit of sacking the coach . Alot of current long term coaches have had shocking seasons . Start recruiting FIT players instead of ones coming off injuries . Really need to stock up on top teir defenders to help Weiters . And find some fast midfeilders or we're going nowhere . Way too many list cloggers in this team draining our pockets .
What do you expect when you have the equivalent of Jake Stringer as ya defensive coach. Why isn't aaron Hammill drawn and quartered? You guys have rated Carlton's defence as bottom 4 since the Collingwood loss, why didn't Carlton see that?
