Would like to know expectations around the DC powered Air conditioner. A basis would be fine. Possible condition could be 95% battery charge availability, 95 deg OAT, 85 deg inside temp at the dinette, 69% humidity, run time to cool dinette area to ~72 deg and available run time on DC power to sustain. Just an example, but I think a use case that the folks in the NE would be interested in. Perhaps the AS engineers could runs a few scenarios to provide consumer’s a general sense. Overall, I think this configuration is a ‘banger’.

No, not yet. In general, I think you’ll get about 3 to 6 hours run time on the AC depending on conditions.

Do air streams have a conductive barrier to prevent heat transfer from the alumunum framing to the inside skin? Seems like other campers have told me they enjoyed their airstreams, but campers like the Bigfoot performed much better in hot and cold environments

    • @lancomedic

I don’t think it will. Airstream’s philosophy from the beginning is to experience the great outdoors. That’s why it has so many big windows. That’s supposed to be your entertainment.

The exact temperature that a 15,000 BTU air conditioner can achieve in a given space during extreme heat conditions is difficult to predict, as it depends on a variety of factors including:
Size of the Space: A 15,000 BTU air conditioner is suitable for a space of about 700 to 1,000 square feet. If the space is larger, the air conditioner will have difficulty cooling it to the desired temperature.
Insulation and Sun Exposure: The insulation and sun exposure of the space will affect how well the air conditioner can maintain the temperature. Poor insulation or high sun exposure will make it harder for the air conditioner to cool the space.
Indoor Heat Sources: The presence of indoor heat sources, such as appliances and lighting, will also affect the temperature that the air conditioner can achieve.
Maintenance and Condition of the Unit: The maintenance and overall condition of the air conditioner will affect its performance. A well-maintained unit in good condition will be more efficient than a neglected unit in poor condition.
In general, air conditioners are designed to maintain a temperature difference of about 20°F to 30°F between the indoor and outdoor temperatures. So, in a situation where the outdoor temperature is 100°F, a well-functioning 15,000 BTU air conditioner in a suitable space with good insulation and no significant indoor heat sources might be able to cool the space to around 70°F to 80°F. However, this is a rough estimate and actual results may vary.

For a trailer at this cost, you'd think it would have electric stabilizer jacks and a electric awning. I could live with the manual stab jacks, but the manual awning is a deal breaker. Ill stick with my Rockwood.
