Austin, clear something up for me. Most, if not all of those dump trucks appeared to have a wheel mounted forward of the bogie drive wheels at the back of the chassis. Is this a spare wheel or a lift axle???
It’s a lift axle. When the trucks are loaded heavy it is dropped down to help disperse the weight more evenly. Fun fact, the do not have power or brakes. It’s just a free spinning axle
