one of the best chat show moments ive ever seen, and id not seen it before.. legends at work, more legends come on screen... the first and only time ive seen kenny everett silent,. what a great clip, thank you.
All i can say is OMG & WOW. I can only think that being in the presence of Buddy in the same room the entertainment value was OFF THE RICHTER SCALE. He died quite young at nearly 70 but what a fulfilled life he had. To be at that level i could only imagine he would have been hard to work with professionally and being married to him was hell i expect. I first knew of Buddy when he appeared on this show as one of the guests. The show was aired on a Saturday if my memory serves me well and the show was so ICONIC and as a family we always watched the show, missing very few. Buddy and Roy and Kenny appeared again with Michael early 1987 shortly before Buddy died. He did look ill then. The Parkinson show first time round from 1971-1982 chatted with every famous person on the planet at that time and this show is from then. The wonderful Roy He was a great entertainer and musician up there with Buddy. I used to love him on TV back in the 70's when i was a kid. Record Breakers and his trumpet playing. The wonderful Sammy He was a great entertainer and musician up there with Roy and Buddy. I love watching him sing Mr Bojangles and also a song called Vehicle by The Ides Of March The wonderful Kenny Well Kenny was just Kenny I am lucky i was old enough to enjoy great TV shows that the BBC had on its 'books' in the 70's, 80's and up to the mid 90's for me. i switched off mainstream media and TV May 2020 as i felt everything was become what we now call WOKE.
I was asked to photograph Buddy Rich and his band after he has finished rehearsing this show at the BBC in Wood Lane. It was to launch a world tour. Would love to have been present for the actual recording of these performances.
