As a successful realtor outside NYC for 25 years I want to give you some advice. Do not make the mistake of buying in a area just because you can get more for your money. Location is the most important thing. It’s how you live your life that counts. It’s like being a bird in a guilded cage. Your lifestyle is key and when you sell it it will be worth more in Manchester and that’s what investment is about. Also find a Realtor you connect with in Manchester and give them what you want and let them search for you. Don’t blow your budget by much because with homeownership comes unexpected expenses. Do not go out of the area you truly want to be in - that will be a major regret no matter how much you love the house. Make sure you have an inspection on the home before you sign a contract. You will know it when it feels right 💕

House Hunting Tip: '£5-£10K above your budget' is within your budget because you should NEVER pay asking price! I'm buying my first house atm and we got it for £10K under (in central London) and my mum was pushing to offer far less but I bottled it ahah
I didn't expect that for the UK. In the Netherlands it is the opposite. You have to offer more than the asking price, otherwise it's a lost cause. It goes as far as 40 grand over asking price.
