Just made it to the "credits", I can feel the Poncle's happiness from the screen. His Castlevania parody game getting a crossover with his inspiration is a dream come true.
same. i was hyped when *redacted* trolled Richter. then the boss fight started. then the credits. fcking hell it was amazing and just... felt so much fun doing it.
For the love of god Dex, PLEASE play the Castlevania games, they are insanely good and they'll help you enjoying the expansion immensely. If you're limited on free time, just play Castlevania 1 and 3 on the NES and Symphony of the Night on PS1 and you're almost set. Play Rondo of Blood if you want to go the extra mile, this DLC is amazing it has tons of references.
@@DonLuca27 Because of this DLC I have finally started playing Castlevania, and idk why I didn't do that sooner, as I love the general aesthetics of it so much. I just played the first game and am currently playing Simon's Quest, and it's been fun so far 🥰
SotN is the most important one to play, and then after that it's a toss-up. All three DS games were good, and the final GBA game was good. NES 1/2/3 were classic but don't really hold up today. The first "metroidvania" in the series was Castlevania 2, while all others before SotN were a linear level by level genre that may feel strange today.

Oh hey Dex, it's me again, from 42 minutes ago. The four relics that looks similiar to each other unlock teleporter marks, permanently. So you can teleport to any teleporter point on the map, in any subsequent run in the future, so making progress will help with anything. i absolutely love castlevania and vampire survivors so this is a dream come true however the actual best thing about this dlc is the fact that we're about to get a shit ton of dex videos lol
Just like how you watched Hololive after playing Holocure, you should play various Castlevania games seeing as how so much is inspired from it for Vampire Survivors.
Love these collabs with game inspriations. Both this game and magic survival (the game that inspired the mechanic side of this one) have been absolutely cooking. Imagine how insane would be if those two collabed together!
I grew up playing all the old Castlevania games, it really is an excellent series. Castlvania 1, 3, Super Castlevania, Symphony of the Night, Circle of the Moon, Aria of Sorrow, Harmony of Dissonance, and if you're looking to go even further, Bloodstained Ritual of the Night as a legacy tie in. Skip Castlevania 2 unless you want the full experience, it's not terrible, just different. The term "Castle-roid" was coined because of the exploration/power up/backtracking style of level design in both Castlevania and Metroid. If you liked the "side scroller adventure" bit that was the room where you could jump around, you really owe it to yourself to at least check out the originals.
Forget Bloodstained. The OG NES games, Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, and Aria of Sorrow are the must-plays as far as I'm concerned. Lords of Shadow is definitely a bad place to start, as it's way too different from the rest.
damn what a nostalgia. I remember referring to your video on the more harder stuff to unlock when vampire survivor came out and was relatively new. You were my go to guide to watch vampire survivor stuff whenever there is an update, major one with secrets and stuff. Vaguely remember your modded videos, and how to mod vampire survivor. Fun times. I know as a content creator, you've got to branch out and find what sticks with you to grow, which obviously is working for you. But watching you playing vampire survivor again just feels so right you know. I still remember how you often pick "tiragisu" or saying something along the line "now what we need is tiragisu right"
Dex has never played a castlevania game? Recently they released a collection of the GBAvanias (Advance Collection) and even more recently a collection of the DSvanias (Dominus Collection) to steam and they're pretty much all banger games. Symphony of the Night is also rereleased on pretty much every platform that is not called Nintendo Switch or PC (though the copium is there since they've started releasing the collections I mentioned so maybe we will finally get a SOTN port for PC that does not involve emulation..) and that is arguably the best CV game ever released. I implore you to try them out and share your experiences with us! :D
i just finished getting all the characters, AAAND THEN THE GAME DECIDED TO GIVE YOU A NUTBUSTER AND ADDED IN 40 MORE CHARACTERS, THIS DLC LITERALLY HAS ALMOST THE SAME AMOUNT OF CHARACTERS AS THE BASE GAME WITH ALL THE OTHER DLCS COMBINED. They really made an insane dlc with this one
@33:40 Base Charm from Power-Ups doesn't even work on this map. Not sure if it's intended or a bug. The cool thing is these new passives should be available for all maps... so I'm just saying, we can go even further beyond on ridiculous Limit Break runs!
8:15 My brother in Belpasse, Hail from the Future exists. You can get every passive in like, 10 minutes in game. Real talk, though it was understandable going back to trying to use vanilla VS Weapon Combos after having all the DLC for so long and forgetting what used to be the meta was actually kind of refreshing, and I similarly went in to the Castlevania DLC with just Vanilla Weapons and had an amazing time.
You entered the mino boss room at exactly 22 minutes. Because in this room the timer is stopped the arcana pulls all items all the time, because it's on a 2 minute mark.
Got home after a long day to buy this dlc on my switch. So of course the time I get back is when the shop starts bugging out. Dlc looks great, I'm just frustrated.

Two useful bits of info from my own playing: 1. The teleport gate unlocks are permeant as they're granted by relics. Going through the gate outside the castle will take you to the first gate inside the castle you've unlocked. Going through any gate in the castle will take you to the next gate in the castle in the progression unless you haven't unlocked the next gate, in which case it will dump you back out outside the castle. 2. The angel things seem to be permeant pickups and i'm not 100% on this but i think they boost your damage. You start with dramatically reduced damage output on this map on a fresh start. it's only after i'd picked a load of those angels up i started getting kills and XP at anything approaching a normal rate. It could have been based on how many bosses i killed instead though, not 100%.
@@Myrdin90 I've dug into it a bit more, it's not the angels, might be boss kills related. Seems permanent. The angels give you temporary bonus health regen, (recovery stat to be specific).
