After all these years since you made this review which one would you pick between Y&Y and T&E? I’m leaning towards Y&Y but I haven’t made up my mind yet
T&E is easily one of my favorite games ever. The differences here for Y&Y seem to be more than enough to justify giving this a shot. PLUS, hexes! I think that alone will really open up the dynamics of this game. Thanks a ton, Joel.
Really enjoyed your review/rules run through. Really helped, recently picked up. Now to wait for social distancing to finish to get it played. I’m aware it’s digitally available but that’s not for me. Great videos, thank you.
Off topic, but is that a copy of Nightvault I see on your shelf? Can we expect a review any time soon? As to the actual review, well done. I wonder how Y&Y would have been received if T&E did not exist. We need a control player, someone who is deep in the hobby but has never heard of T&E. Get their take.
I just got Y&Y in the sales, your final discussion of the play sounded more encouraging because at least for the next longest of whiles I can only play this with my wife. If the game play would be less dynamic is there a way to shorten the game.I.e using less tiles or would that be catastrophic; don’t know if my wife would be as interested if it lacked some type of effective interesting interaction or challenge, or am I thinking too deep?
I don't think you should reduce the tiles. Honestly, it feels specifically balanced for the count it has. You might ask over on BoardGameGeek.com's page for the game. I'm sure people have come up with variants and discussions like this. (I'd be surprised if no one had).

I settled on T&E but only just. :) Completely unhelpful I know.

Great. Hope you enjoy it.
I feel like Y&Y is an interesting twist, but the strategic depth and thematic feel of T&E will stand the test of time much better.
Hard to say. You might be right though. Every time I think that I find some interesting bit in Y&Y.
Could you tell me the name of the outtro song you use in your videos? Great review!
You bet. Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/zbyXjXtgK24/v-deo.html
