Yes please to Drukhari videos! Followed your Nids scheme and it was perfect! I have the mandrakes and my Drukhari army arrived in June so I need to pick a scheme
I’ve always wanted to paint a squad of these in that super black paint. The stuff that is like looking at a void. The skin in that, the hair white, the cloth in a dirty grey, and the eyes mouth and flames glowing in what ever color.
I had the same connecting thought to the samurai pants! I bought the previous Mandrakes when they were on Last-chance-to-buy and I've been *trying* to paint them as Sylvaneth Samurai (just for fun)
I was holding off getting these but had to after seeing this scheme... always loved the hellboy movies and it aslso has a World of Warcraft demon hunter vibe as well
I've been waiting soooo long for these since I learned what Mandrakes are. Love your paint scheme it reminds me of how some have used Idoneth deepkin as porxy for a while so him almost looking like a deepkin feels like a full circle, I'd love to see more Drukhari it would be grear to see :) Great video as always Andy
Really interesting video mate, another model I've no interest in painting myself, but was really taken in by you giving the lore and background as you went along 🙂 And as always by the end the model looks fantastic ❤
Thanks man, will try to do that more often with the lore, i always think it adds a lot to the model when you learn some background! Glad you liked the video, and the result!
Beautiful job. I'll definitely adopt the scheme. That Tantalus sounds like a wonderful multi-episode idea! Those sadistic Dark Eldar bastards are the best!!! My second favourite army (after my daemons).
Excellent tabletop work as always! A friend wants to paint some of those up for his Drukhari force. I dig the blue flames and The Ring style skin/hair tones over the black skin and white hair from the studio.
Hey great vid (as always)! I’d definitely like to see more! I just got a combat patrol about two weeks ago and have really fallen for their models! It isn’t the scheme I’m going for, but would definitely like to see more and see the big sail tantalus come to life in your scheme!
Really like the end colours all together, reminds me of a drowned soul coming to pull others into the abyss of death and their realm. O off topic in your 1500 point Bretonnian army for the tournament, you mentioned adding a banner to your men at arms but your friend said that gives points to the enemy. It doesn't as no opponent may claim victory points from captured banners that have the peasant keyword, so I say keep it for the extra combat res.
And behold there was one among them name Kheradruakh - He Who Hunts Heads - the Decapitator. A thousand skulls lined his lair; a thousand lives ended swiftly on his blades. None were safe from the Decapitator who moved through the shadows like the breeze through the air. No guard could mark his passing. No shield could ward his blows. None could stop him from seeking his prize. How could one name the price of certain death for any foe? I cannot say, but rumour tells of a hundred times a thousand given over in sacrifice, bartered for the death of a single enemy
That's a great paint scheme. I've pretty much switched to that priming method now apart from I use a white instead of grey. Car primers are so much cheaper and there's some really good brands for about six to seven quid a tin. Makes that hobby budget stretch a bit further. My new project is genestealer cults so there all getting the zenithal prime. Needed a change of pace from Custodes. Keep up the good work I'm hoping I can get the next kill team box with the GSC in it but will see what happens. Fomo can fomo off...
Hello! I want to achieve a similar skin effect for my angron, but with pale white and red/pink in the recesses instead! Do you think a wash with berserker bloodshade/thinned down flesh tearers red contrast paint followed by a drybrush/layering of rakarth flesh would achieve that kind of effect?
It looks good. In the fluff in the book I'm sure the flames etc is blue? If anything I think yours looks a bit more sinister. I'd like to do the black coloured skin with blue runes but then it would be the hair as I'm not overly fond of the white hair so I'd have to think about that. I do like your take on the trousers. Lots to think about there.
The pants are Hakama
Thank youuu! Need to write that down somewhere 😄
Yes please to Drukhari videos! Followed your Nids scheme and it was perfect! I have the mandrakes and my Drukhari army arrived in June so I need to pick a scheme
Will do my best!
That scheme really does work, very shadowy and sinister I like it.
Thanks so much man, they’d be so scary meet in the dark!
I’ve always wanted to paint a squad of these in that super black paint. The stuff that is like looking at a void. The skin in that, the hair white, the cloth in a dirty grey, and the eyes mouth and flames glowing in what ever color.
Oh. Ohhhh. Please do that, I need to see that happen!
I had the same connecting thought to the samurai pants! I bought the previous Mandrakes when they were on Last-chance-to-buy and I've been *trying* to paint them as Sylvaneth Samurai (just for fun)
That sounds awesome.
Just looked it up. It’s called a hakama. Basically a more formal kimono.
Thank you!!!
The Decapitator was a fantastic Lore! A model would be great
It really would.
Actually love that scheme, really like the pale skin rather than almost black. Prince Nuada was a dope antagonist.
He was awesome so sad we never got the third. Movie.
would love to see you do a tutorial for the night lords!
Already done :D
Amazing paint job. The runic tattoo things look awesome. ❤
Thanks so much!
Looks fantastic- Mandrakes are my favourite Drukhari option and one of my favourite in all 40k!
They are really
Good. I’m a big fan.
Nice work, your take on the terrain in nightmare as well would be great 👍
Will do my best but if I don't get around to it, I've done a lot of Kill Team videos that might help with painting that piece!
I was holding off getting these but had to after seeing this scheme... always loved the hellboy movies and it aslso has a World of Warcraft demon hunter vibe as well
Oh that’s a perfect way of describing it! Yes world of Warcraft demon vibes for sure
The pale skin and blue/green tones work fantastically well. Cracking job Andy
Thanks man, really happy with it
I've been waiting soooo long for these since I learned what Mandrakes are. Love your paint scheme it reminds me of how some have used Idoneth deepkin as porxy for a while so him almost looking like a deepkin feels like a full circle, I'd love to see more Drukhari it would be grear to see :)
Great video as always Andy
Oh there will be more don’t worry about that.

this is actually the coolest mandrake scheme ive seen, looks like the demon from sinister.
Very kind pal.
Beautiful job. I'll definitely adopt the scheme. That Tantalus sounds like a wonderful multi-episode idea! Those sadistic Dark Eldar bastards are the best!!! My second favourite army (after my daemons).
They are such a great range for sure.
Excellent tabletop work as always! A friend wants to paint some of those up for his Drukhari force. I dig the blue flames and The Ring style skin/hair tones over the black skin and white hair from the studio.
Cheers pal. Glad you liked it.
@@MediocreHobbies keep doing what you do!!

Ye i can’t wait to see that come to life.
I think the name of the pants you are looking for is 'M.C. Hammer pants'. 😋
You can't touch them...
😂😂
Great video as always.
always appreciate the kind comments man

Yep if learned that now pal. Cheers.

He is such a great character.
I love the subdued scheme, as you say, very appropriate for a shadow demon. Those pants are called hakama.
Ah cheers pal.
Look the scheme Andy!
Cheers John!
I love that colour scheme
Thanks so much!

Ye I get the need for a change of pace.
Very nice Andy.
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks cool. 👍
Thanks 👍

The flesh tearers will swallow the bloodhsade you won’t see it at all.

Wood elves!!!
Yes for sure.
If you look closely this fella is actually not a MANdrake at all. This kit has a mix of male and female bodies.
And yet they're still all called mandrakes :D
Hakama pants are what you are thinking of. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakama
Thank you!! Will try to remember that name
