I’ll be starting my radtech journey in college soon! Knowing as much information as I can. I’m so excited to be a future radtech like you someday! Great video 😁👍
Congratulations! I’m older…lol..I’m literally going to my campus tour today regarding entering the program…I’m quite nervous still wondering if I should do this. I’m doing as much research here. There’s a lot of good videos
@kishareynolds1854 Same! I'm 38 abd been bouncing from CNA to manufacturing the last 16 years. I do not want to be a nurse at all so rad tech will be my next goal. If there was a cardiac sonography school near me, I'd consider that too.
i might choose this career path but i’m scared it will be really hard or i wont like it. how many schooling did you do and what was your experience? i’m really nervous since i don’t know what to be.
In total I went to school for 4 years. 2 years of prerequisite classes & 2 years of radiology school. It definitely is a challenging program, but as is any career path that you decide to take in life. Sometimes it is hard trying to figure out what we want to be in life, but I would recommend talking to a college counselor to help you decide which path is best for you!
I’m considering to switch my major from teaching to Rad tech . Is being short a problem to reach and extend limbs to use the machines and all???? Because I’m on the shorter side 😞. Btw I’m been watching your videos and enjoying the content and information
Hi there! In my opinion it’s not! We have step stools & the hospital, as well as exam room beds are usually adjustable (: Also thanks sm for your support 🫶🏽
Unfortunately no, they do not pay students. However, our program director did mention that they are trying to pass a bill that will start paying students in the future (hopefully) 😬🤞🏽
I personally never have, nor do I know any techs who have! There is a venipuncture class that you’ll have to take in the program, where you’ll learn to draw blood & inject contrast “just in case”! Injections are mainly used in CT & MRI.
Nice! I would say that it’s pretty straightforward & organized, there’s different classes that you’ll take & a clinical internship part where you actually work in different hospitals/clinics as a student, under the direct supervision of a technologist. Just make sure to study the material that your professors will give you & try NOT to fall behind, it can be very hard to catch up because the program covers A LOT of material & moves at a good pace. Other than that just try your hardest, do your hw, & if you ever have any questions or need help don’t hesitate to ask your professors and/ or program director.
loveddd the vid!! LMAOO @ the sope , not you thinking it was soup
I’m so happy for you 💙!! I plan on becoming a rad tech as well

It’s ok I’m 37 and I’m literally thinking about being a X-ray tech, I’ve been a CNA for 3 years and it’s just not fulfilling anymore!
Are you planning on documenting your journey, I hope so. I'm also older and considering this field once my daughter graduates next year.

Did you get paid during hospital clinicals in college (if you did them)?
Unfortunately no, they do not pay students. However, our program director did mention that they are trying to pass a bill that will start paying students in the future (hopefully) 😬🤞🏽
do you ever have to give injections? I really want to do this but I know I can’t do that
