My dog Zeke loved wrestling other dogs to the ground, letting them up, and taking them down again. Big strong Lab. Zero aggression, but man, he could really get a group of dogs riled up. We tried to “teach him a lesson” by putting him in a fenced-in area with a dog person and her really big male tough guy Rotty. He was about 20 pounds bigger than Zeke. Zeke wrestled him to the ground twice with his mouth over the dog’s throat. Finally she pulled her dog out of the enclosure and said we can’t keep going. We were hoping he’d learn to moderate his behavior but that didn’t work. Nothing to do. Zeke just loved wrestling and he was too big and good at it. He was the Brock Lesnar of dogs. Had some real dog buddies who also loved wrestling. They’d grapple until they got tired, rested, wrestled again. Like 100 pound puppies. He finally died of cancer. It wrestled him to the ground, unfortunately. I cried for days after putting him down.
Bark Lesner. Zeke found a pack of boys just as rowdy as him before he passed so he lived his life to the fullest. RIP

@@travismcnasty4239 Pure Lab. Hunting genes. His breeder developed specialty Labs and Zeke was a line dedicated to hunting geese. So he was really big, muscular, and really resistant to cold. People around here generally hunt geese with Chesapeakes, who can be difficult around people. Labs like Zeke are just happy and not aggressive to people or dogs. Zeke was a very tall, long, chesty American Lab with a longish snout and superior nose. Best nose on any dog I’ve ever had.

Matt has totally misinterpreted Cesar Milan's advice lmao. I don't know where he got the idea that you should let dogs snap at each other. Cesar's entire show is about how to make sure your dog is calm and balanced and submissive to humans. At no point in the dog whisperer would Cesar see a dog biting another dog and be like "alright let's see where this is going," he'd jump right in and end it.

yeah Matt is in the wrong here. Pits and similar breeds need ALOT more hands on training than other dogs. He should go to the park with a training collar.
I always thought people like this at dog parks were just oblivious assholes but hearing this knowing there’s a bunch of Matt’s at the dog park knowing their dog is terrorizing the family dog is hilarious now.

My uncle used to basically keep dogs as alarms, he'd tie them up to a tree around his property and they'd live their entire lives there. One time I was taunting one and it gave me a nice bite on the shoulder that drew blood. I deserved it, but he went out and shot the dog when I was in the hospital getting stitched up.
One of his free-roaming dogs got hit by a car and had a giant gash on its side. I asked if they were gonna help it and he said "he'll be fine". I could see muscle tissue. The dog sat down in water puddles for a few months and it ended up healing but I can't imagine all the parasites in it's body.
One time I saw one of their chihuahuas humping it's mother and I knew it was fucked up, but I was such a naive kid I asked "is that allowed? are they married?" I didn't know it was her son until after I asked, but then I knew it was even more wrong.
Some people just shouldn't be allowed to own animals.

My uncle had a Chow (known for being extremely mean) and it bit my cousin (his son) so he took the dog out to the barn, hung the dog by the neck and while it was squirming to get away, he beheaded it with a machete.

When I worked at rent a center I was surprised how many people did the old chain the dog for their entire life to a tree technique. Thought only my pos family did that.

I felt terrible about taunting that dog, getting bit, then my uncle killing it, but maybe it was actually a good thing, to put the poor dog out of its misery instead of being a prisoner to a tree its whole life

There's a news story out of Broomfield, CO where a dude was letting his pit run wild at the dog park and it attacked another dog. The owner of the attacked dog pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the pit in the back several times. When it didn't let go he slit it's fucking throat. Sooo sick. I wonder how the Shaman would handle that sitch.
I mean, the pit would have been put down for attacking another dog anyway and people treat their pets like children these days… I would feel worse if I had the knife but didn’t use it and my dog died. He made what I think is the right decision and quickly. That is a harsh situation though. Damn

Jon Bernthal tells this story about how gets really annoyed by people who don't have control over their dogs in public. I think Bernthal is big on Pitbulls too, but he was on some old podcast where he goes in on bad dog owners. He said one time, some dude lost control of his Pitbull and it started attacking some woman's poodle or whatever. He said the woman really didn't have a chance and the dude was just some little dork who was ineffectively yanking on his Pitbull's collar. According to Bernthal. he felt that the Pittie was eventually gonna kill the other dog, so he ran over and drove his thumb up the Pitbull's butt to get it to release. Personally, I have never heard of this technique but The Punisher knows what he is doing, so I'll defer to his expertise. He just better hope he doesn't get a #MeToo charge.

BUT, unless everyone in the dog park is on the board, you shouldn't let your dog do this. You're just making everyone uncomfortable. Plus the other dogs are trained to socialize the wrong way, so your dog is confusing to them
