- I sat down with this very talented, professional and humble guitarist at Hellfest. Teemu is the new soloist of Megadeth. we discussed his signature guitar from @IbanezOfficial , his favorite guitar pickups. We also talked about his and Dave Mustain's live gear, they use @NeuralDSP 's Quad Cortex and @seymourduncan Powerstage in addition to @marshallamps cabs.
We talked about Finland and his fave Finnish bands and the bands who influenced him @StratovariusChannel @amorphisofficial @nightwish @apocalyptica @sonataarctica @ironmaiden @RonnieJamesDio @childrenofbodom @insomniumofficial . @WintersunJari and other projects. His guitar methods to learn and practice Deth's solos. if he is thinking of doing a solo project like @JoeSatriani @SteveVaiHimself @OfficialRainbowBand @officialyngwiemalmsteen622 and many other issues.

Nice hearing him talk about Wintersun. Kiko never mentionned Angra a single time when he was with Megadeth!
I think it has to do with questions brought to him. I brought up the Wintersun thing...so maybe Kiko didnt have the chance.
And say word even Smackbound. That project would have good future, pity that Megadeath would take so much time at Teemu now 🤪😅
he plays marty solos so accurate
I'm more impressed with how he nails Poland's solos, TBH. Every 'deth guitarist except for him seemed to have trouble with Poland's leads.
One thing I gotta say, he definitely captures the vibe. I've been watching the shows lately and he seems to get in the inflections of each of the previous guitarists. It will be interesting to see if he records any new tracks and plays his own solos.

I know that Kiko was Great in Megadeth just like every other guitar player will be but Kiko left us conquer or die most definitely the best instrumental 🎸 so far on a Megadeth album besides into the lungs of hell 🎸

I didn't like the idea of Kiko leaving, but if anybody were to fill all previous guitarist's shoes, (while still wearing his own) It's Teemu. I haven't heard Marty's parts played so well since he laid the tracks!

Small correction here just for clarity since i feel there was A little bit of misunderstanding between Rudi and Teemu. Teemu did music oriented high school which is different from Sibelius Academy (university level music education). My point is not that Teemu would need it😂😂
@markusn.2539 so there is Sibelius high school and Sibelius college? Anyway as you said he doesnt need that.
@Rudimessiah, yeah there’s Sibelius high school and Sibelius Academy, both really difficult to get into. However, we have many great musicians who didn’t go to either of those 😄

21:05 The hockey player was Teemu Selänne, the subtitles spell the surname a couple of different ways wrong. Yes, Finnish is hard because words can have -nne and -nen endings which are not interchangeable.

I really hope that he stays with Megadeth for the long haul. But I highly doubt he will. They never do.... If the band stays as it is, I will be content. But I'm sure he, along with Dirk will leave within the next few years.
Yeah for better or worse Megadeth is a revolving door of members, Dave can never keep anybody for the long haul.
@@rodbelding9523a lot of that is also that all of these guys eventually will want to go solo because of their talent...Kiko was the same as Temu, but in the last year or two he started to express some artistic differences...Drovers, Lomenzo and Broderick went bcoz Dave wanted rust in peace lineup and Risk ended Megadeth, from which Marty woukd leave either way because he wanted something else entirely. In the 80s they were drug fiends, its a miracle they even got to do more than 3 albums....

I think at this point, the question is more like, how long can dave keep it going with his health/aging. His voice keeps going worse and worse year by year and i doubt his ego will let hiring a new singer in the band. There is a possibility, that Teemu will be the last lead guitarist in Megadeth's history.
