@@BLOODINMYHENNY he mentions the Inca right before and that it's not to be confused with the Aztecs. The Inca Empire was in Peru, the Aztecs were in Mexico, both ancient civilizations.

Sadly this one was the only German show for the foreseeable future. HOWEVER I’m aiming to do a European tour within a couple of years

Oh Hamburg! Whatta great city to be! I was travelling by car to Amsterdam from Berlin this summer, and planned a two day stop in Hamburg on the way. Guess what? I've spent whole two month in Hamburg and haven't got to Amsterdam instead, being happy to experience this beautiful hanseatic city.
So I'm really happy to know that Chris were there bcoz they are my 2 discoveries of the year!

i'm roughly 9 minutes in (haven't heard the rap yet) but I just want to say that all of the leading up to it, be it the vlog part and the whole comedic part leading to the rap has been really enjoyable, I generally like the other format of the video but this one is very nice and refreshing aswell, what I mean to say is that you're killing it in all fronts, great job Chris =)

I won't ever forget this day and I don't know were I should start this story. (I almost never write comments on YT.)
I came 1,5 hours too early, but I still felt the need to go and rush as if I had no time. At the beginning of that day I thought the show would be tomorrow and that I will have enough time the next morning to dress well and make a gift and so on and so forth.. However thanks to my cousin realized (by sheer luck) that I have "only" four hours left and that it is going to be 'today' I started going crazy.
(I am a guy that has no plan in and of life. I actually came one week before the actual date, because I thought the whole stuff was at another date. I was very prepared that day compared to the actual date. I was dressed very nicely I was smelling really good etc.. But on my way there I walked into dog shit. I made the glass of a picture frame unusable, which had a MF DOOM signature on it. I went back, got new shoes, and got a new picture with an old frame. This time I had to pick a plastic frame. And when I was there finally.. they told me that it is next week.. But that In turn made me get front row tickets!!)
I put a picture of Chris above a quote by MF DOOM. (Now I wish I had put more effort into it when I made it the second time.) The picture was loose.. so it was always moving around in the frame. I came around two hours too early to the show. So I started waiting In front of the gates with the picture in my hand. I was just Listening to some beats and moving around.. without realizing that the picture is moving around in the frame... At one point it was turned around by 180*. So I started going crazy once more. I needed to find a way to fix it. [Here is a picture of the picture: instagram.com/p/B5XhtfaoWCm/]
[In the first Vlog you can see some parts of Chris's car. I showed them to a car engineer and I asked him what car it could be. So he send me a couple of pictures of which car it might be. I didn’t see his car nearby. (I just realized what a creep I am..)]
A dude in the neighbourhood who told me that I can't sit behind the gates (someone just let me in) suggested me to go to the next bar to fix the picture in the frame. I didn't want to open up the plastic frame. (I almost broke that one and I already broke the one with real glass.) So I went to a Vietnamese Bar/Restaurant called 'BAN' that was just one minute away. I was sitting there.. and I was gently hitting the frame from each side in the hope that I would move the picture to the right spot and turn it around.
The waitress came over to me and I told her that I just wanted a cup of water. In the end she somehow made me buy two small meals.. I just bought the cheapest stuff, but it was still expensive. (4 Euros for a glass of tab water!?!?) Therefore, I ate my meal very slowly and then I still had half an hour left. I already fixed the picture.. So I went to the place... and Chris was just standing in the corner speaking casually to another fan (from now on I will call that fan “J”)..
I was walking up slowly. My heart was going crazy. My English skills dropped by 50%. I was freaking out. I was shy and I’ve never been this unconfident in speaking English. I couldn't concentrate anymore. I was blushing. I tried to be normal so badly...
I walked over.. like a weirdo (that is happy and about to go bigass crazy) ... showed the picture.. and Chris said 'this is my favourite quote' and that made me go even more crazy. He also thought that it would be a gift for him. I feelt kinda bad that I didn’t have a gift. And “J” told be I was extremely starstruck. He was right, I was smiling like a dork.
(For the whole night I felt like I was dreaming. So I tried a couple reality checks just to know if I am really dreaming or not. Holding your nose and trying to breathe with it is one RC. If you are asleep you can still breathe with it, but I couldn't.. so I knew was awake.. even if I didn’t feel like that.)
I felt like it was such a fitting quote for Chris and I just wanted to have two major life inspirations in one picture/object. I didn't even knew that this was his favourite quote by MF DOOM.
We both were kinda geeking over MF DOOM, although I am sure Chris knew more than me. (I knew that his brother died, but not that he stopped mceeing because of that. I thought that he just wanted a break.) Chris said that DOOM does what comedians are doing when they are telling prepared jokes.. It just made so much sense and I never really thought about it that way.
I kinda put Chris and DOOM in a contrast by saying that one raps with and the other against our intuition. Chris mentioned a couple talks [ ua-cam.com/video/jWYog0fiBxQ/v-deo.html or ua-cam.com/video/BtyszrybYEA/v-deo.html ] that you 'have to not think about it', when you are *freestyle* rapping. Kind of doing it intuitively on the spot like 'playing tennis' (and not like chess), totally unprepared.
MF DOOM on the other hand is playing with our intuition in innumerable ways. (To some ears MF DOOM makes himself sound offbeat and sometimes he leaves a word out and make us “fill in” the word in our own head while continuing with something new and sometimes he makes us think he is going to rhyme one really obvious thing while rhyming another word which sounds very similar. If you listen to him, you will certainly know what I mean.)
I think DOOM wants us listeners to be intuitive about it (when listening to his music) so that it has a stronger effect of amazement when we think about how he played with/against our intuitions afterwards (or how he was still able to 'keep things fluid'. That's how Chris described DOOM's style in a beautiful way to “J”). I really hope that what I am trying to explain here makes sense..
After having a short talk with Chris and “J”, a friend of mine came over and was just listening. Most of the time I was just listening to what they were saying. At one point I just started speaking with “J”. Chris was speaking to the other performer. And later on Chris pulled out a notebook, he looked very concentrated. I still ended up asking him something about his car, but after that I was just awkwardly walking around and talked with two other fans of Chris.
The first show was about to start so I sat down at the very front. The person introducing the first comedian on stage asked me if I was okay. I was very nervous and started sweating. I said “I am okay, just nervous.” I don’t know why but the comedian also interacted with me. He even wanted to make a girl sit down right next to me (it was free), because I came alone. In the end some cool random dude sat down next to me. That performer (Ori Halevy) even made me say that I didn’t want a girl to sit right next to me, but also that I am straight. >\\\<
I suddenly realized that I forgot my suggestion. So I started thinking of something new. I was thinking of Synthetic Aprior, Wittgensteins Beetle and Tomb Raider as an Archeology teacher. In the end I was just too shy to say anything, when Chris had his show going.
We spoke about many different things after the show. We made a couple pictures. (With that I mean the whole group.).. We spoke about some things that I would like to keep private. But at this point the reader might already be bored from reading.. if the reader actually came this far. If my comment will get responses, I might write more. :)
[P. S: Sorry for writing too much. I am bad at writing stories.. especially because I go into the details way too much. I even left out more than half of this text >.< ..
I was sitting at the front and I think Chris also recorded us at another the Pub (Brew Dog) after the show. That means that over a 10.000 people are probably going to see my face.. or the back of my head.. or both… even if that is just for a second. I can't even imagine the amount of faces sitting in front of their screen and seeing me for a of couple seconds. This is as famous as I will ever get. What a good thing that this is a recording of the best day of my life.. and I really mean it. Just thinking about these memories gives me joy even if it wasn’t as perfect as it could be.]

God, I love Germans. So literal and serious unlike most Americans. They really mean the words they use, and if they're being even slightly sarcastic, there's a major emphasis on that sarcasm factor to make it well understood that they're being cheeky. This is exactly how I express myself and most people in my country don't speak literal (or even satirical) English because, well.. they think it's "cool" to be ironically moronic which, in turn, makes them appear more stupid. Vicious cycles.

Great freestyle raps again Chris. Just watching these videos honestly makes me really happy. I can't get enough. Not only is your knowledge and word play and thought processing speed so great, you are a really good comedian. Going back to your younger stand up when you still had braces, It's so good. It makes me really wonder if this is all possible from just straight grinding & practicing from a very young age I presume, or, on top of the hard work and practice were you also naturally good and maybe born with something that gave you this ability to become sort of like a master at this suggestive freestyle rap you're crushing at? I have been drawn to music my entire life, and grew up around musicians, and I just find it very interesting. You are without a doubt one of my favorite human beings right now Keep it up bro.
