I have the same bike in Ti and am thinking about changing to a Geoff bar for added comfort. What stem length did you go for to compensate for the bar reach, 70 or 90mm? The Broken Road is an awesome bike!
I have Geoff and original Jones bars , they are more or less identical side by side and I can't discern a difference in changing between bikes. I run a 50mm stem for a nice short reach. HTH 👍
How tall are you, if I may ask, and what is the size of the frame? I have similar setup - Kona Unit with jones bars and a carbon fork. Fits comfy but feels like driving a bus. Not a fan of this modern super extended geometry, as it turns out.
@@Cycling366 That's interesting, maybe even assuring. I'm 6 ft with large Kona as well. Both bikes have practically the same TTH. But I use the shortest stem available. And frankly, if the back sweep alt-bars didn’t exist, I would have to go for Medium frame, just to achieve maximum upright, relaxed position, which I came to prefer with age
Ie q/r release I use 10yr Old Vaaru 27.5 and have just purchased a set of non- boost Hope Pro 5 fortus 23 wheelset they never let you down , q/r , bolt thru adaptors all include🇬🇧
It’s not essential, but thru axles are stronger than QR and therefore more robust and allow you to carry more weight, plus they won’t come loose. Other point as well, a lot of rack systems use thru axle adapters to secure to the bike so if you want it to be futureproofed I’d go for the thru axles if possible!
Yes I did! But you can place an order for a suspension fork version in your chosen spec and request rigid forks in the order notes if you don’t want to do what I’ve done 👍
Congrats on the growing family. The bike and setup looks great, I'm sure it will work well :)
"Growing family"
The bikes or the kid? 😊
Haha that made me chuckle. Thanks for the kind words as well @wiltshireman!
That looks like a great set up, beast of a bike, may you have many miles of fun on it!
Cheers Simon!
Bike looks superb.. been toying with this bike for a few months now, also with the rigid forks and looks like I’ll be trying these bars..
Thanks Marc! Yeah the bars are great actually. Got them on the Frontier too and very comfy!
Beautiful Bike. Looks perfect.
Thank you!
Interesting! Thanks
Thanks for watching!

Go for it! 70mm for me 🙏

Hi there. What made you go for the Broken Road and not the Santiago?

6 ft and it’s a size large. It’s not too slack with a short stem

hey dude just curious why you prefer thru axles over QR was about to get a surly but cancelled my order when i saw it didnt have thru axles

@@Cycling366 thats what i was thinking thanks for the answers your videos are great keep up the good work!
Did you buy the frame and build it up yourself? I can't see the option to buy this bike with a solid fork?
Yes I did! But you can place an order for a suspension fork version in your chosen spec and request rigid forks in the order notes if you don’t want to do what I’ve done 👍
And the Hope component colours match your hair 😂
