Units responding to a working dwelling fire on South Market in Shamokin were met with heavy fire conditions to the rear of the structure. A Second Alarm was immediately struck bringing mutual aid companies from area communities to assist. A Third Alarm was struck to fill in empty city firehouses.
To my knowledge at the time of this posting there were no injuries. The fire is under investigation as to cause ...

This was my good friend Jeff's home he lived there alone his wife passed from cancer back in 98 i believe he never got remarried and he battled back and leg problems for a long time but still got up everyday and went to work. It's hard to even watch this video he is a very good man who lost everything he had in remembering his wife. Say a prayer for him and his son. 🙏✝️♥️

I just wanted to add this, there's people standing talking and laughing as a man's house burns the only one he has lived in for over 20 years wth is wrong with people this is no place or time to meet up and and act like this i hope someday whoever it is they realize the home owner is right by you listening. Whoever is filming you should know better yourself about laughing you've covered a lot of these and you was always sympathetic. 🤐🤐🤐
I was not and would NOT laugh at someone else's tragedy ... We as FF sometimes make light to keep our own sanity due to the things we've seen, but never on the scene. I can't control what other people do around me though. I hope things turned out okay for your friend. Message me if there is anything I can do to help.
@@FDNY8231 believe me i understand the need to be able to make time for the lighter side of life i have family in law enforcement sorry if i thought it was you , people just don't seem to understand stand the situation. In July of last year my niece died in that house fire on Franklin Street 7/31/19 it was the most horrible day of our life's. I guess maybe that made my comment a little strong. I apologise for that. Keep doing what you do i have followed you on UA-cam for over a year now stay safe and take care ✌️

Did not seem to attack it from the back side .
They did but that was before my arrival. The fire broke through the roof just after I got there.
If you watch carefully, you can see a stream of water shoot over the roof from the back, occasionally.
Surprised they didn't utilise the ladder line earlier as it was very effective when they did!
Command was attempting to minimize the damage by not using the big guns, but they realized later it was going to be necessary to put out the fire ...
