I'm back here after 3 months and I cut my bangs too!!! And what can I say, I love it so so so much, now I love wearing ponytails and buns (I have never liked the shape of my face without bangs), and I think I look cuter. This video has been so helpful!!! ^^

I finally decided to cut my bangs after many months of contemplating and it looks so good!! I was a nervous wreck throughout but it was so worth it. Any tips for anyone trying to cut their bangs in this style, or cut their bangs period, GO SLOW. Take all the time you need in order to prepare yourself mentally and make sure that, as she mentioned in this video, cut your hair longer than usual and cut slowly to get your desired length. Also have confidence. I know it may be hard because a lot of emotions are going through your head whilst doing this, but try to envision your final product. I also suggest consulting with family/friends that may have had their bangs cut (successfully) and their tips or do it with them in the process of cutting your bangs. If you’re gonna cut your bangs, now is the time to do it given the quarantine.
This is a good representation of the phases of cutting your own bangs
1) “I don’t know what I’m doing, but who cares”
2) “pause, am I doing this right?”
3) “ok whatever just do it.”
4) *cuts hair*
5) adrenaline starts to rush because one realizes what they had just done
6) Gets all jittery and have nerves and chills radiating from the body
7) “wait.. omg wait.. I actually kinda like this.”
8) this only happens if one does the procedure correctly

If anybody does NEVER pull on the hair. Hold it loosely and cut it longer than you want. You can always fix it up
@@rileybrown5890 I tried this to my lil twin sisters, it was way too short than I expected and it looked terrible (fortunately my mom forgave me), after a month the bangs grew longer and my sistas looks cute with it. Phew!
If anyone is trying to do their own bangs, PLEASE make sure you cut it longer than you think! Its so much better to make it too long and trim more off, than too short and not be able to do anything about it.

You're probably watching this video out of context. I have a hair tutorial channel, and I always ask my viewers what they think before I make a change to my hair. Many of my viewers were worried that they wouldn't be able to use my hair tutorials anymore or that I wouldn't be able to do the historical/fantasy hairstyles I do if I get bangs, so yes, being able to hide them is very important to me ;)

If anyone is thinking abt cutting their own bangs but are too scared, just do it. I went to a high end hair salon and my stylist butchered my bangs. They start almost half way through my head and there’s no way to hide this atrocity. My stylist never went to cosmetology school, she just didn’t courses in high school and she just turned 18... barely any experience and she didn’t know how to do bangs. I showed her a picture of idol IU’s bangs and she didn’t even take it into consideration. So much of my hair has been cut off, the bangs r like a curtain.
Sorry you had a bad experience. However, in the USA, it is against the law for someone to touch your hair and cut your hair unless they have a license. Perhaps you should consider suing the salon that let someone cut your hair when they did not have a license to do so?

Maybe they're straight across bangs. Her bangs kind of make a /\ shape, it's very subtle so it's not noticeable and she didn't use too much hair for it, really depends on how thick your hair is, how much hair is divided between bangs and etc.

I finally did it at 4 in the morning and believe me this looks so adorable...i am in a bun 24/7 which makes my hair look so flat from front but i hope now i'll look much better...no regrets...loving it😚
Some things to keep in mind:
1. Do not twist your hair as shown in other tutorials. That is where everything goes wrong.
2. Go slowly. Do not cut a great length all at once.
3. Do not pull your hair while cutting as it will bounce up after the cut and you may end up with very short length.
4. Do not keep your hair way too away from your face as it can give you wrong estimate of length you are about to cut.
5. The two long strands at each end can mess up with you. Keep it reasonably long.
Ps: Quarantine can make you do some really cute things.😜
Edit: Never trust a hairdresser for bangs ( experienced ). And also it usually looks good on a small face.

@@swethas928 I dont say all hairdressers are bad at it but as for my experience i trusted 2 hairdressers and both of them left me looking weird. And anyway i liked it better when i did it myself...good luck😊 hope you dont end up like me.
@@swethas928 if you go to a hairdresser make sure to *overexplain* what you want. Don't be afraid to talk too much - best to have LOADS of reference photos. Lots of times what goes wrong is that they can't figure out what you want from what you're saying haha

Flora Hime Idk if this will make sense, but try making mock bangs--grabbing some front hair as if you're going to cut hair but instead of cutting, put the extra hair on top of your head and clip it. It might look silly with the big loop but it can give you a little idea of how you may look with bangs. Either that or give it a shot and cut yourself some bangs, slowly inch up to the bang length you want incase you think they look bad so you can easily disguise what you cut c: There are also some nice videos that show how to disguise bangs or to even make fake bangs.
