@@foodood8895 well of course it's like that. But nah they didn't steal it. Only thing I know is that Mega Construx are more action figure based and LEGO is more on customizability. Trust me I'm all in for LEGO. But Mega Construx ain't half bad either.

I had one a long ass time ago, I think it was a ferris wheel or something. At the time i didn't watch the show, as the set was a gift I didn't care to much about it. I do remember having a birthday party at a waterpark (which is where I got the set) I kinda remember it vividly. Anywho, kinda wish I still had it, it's one of the earliest lego sets I can think of me owning.

Star Wars is like the MAIN THEME of Lego. It lasted for like atleast 15 years nows.
I don't think they will ever loose their Star Wars license. They've made so much money from it, I think Disney is quite happy with that.

I gotta say, the one License that Lego lost that hurt the most for me, was Spider-Man 3. One thing I looked forward to the most about that movie, was getting Lego Sets based on them; a Beautiful Symbiote Spider-Man Minifigure, as well as a Venom Figure - in addition to some black webbing and what not.
I waited for so long, but I never found any. I got my hopes up when I saw some youtube videos that seemed to feature EXACTLY what I was looking for in terms of Minifigures. But as it turns out, those figs were 100% custom decals...And when I saw the Dreaded Megablox versions of the toys, I knew all hope was lost.
Personally I feel whenever mega bloks ever has a theme after LEGO did they mske the figures so much better
I'm glad they now go by mega construx they no longer sound like a knock off but the only thing i like about mega blocks is the halo figures

I love their Pokemon and Halo sets, they are awesome!
They also have some badass Pokémon sets like the really well done Scyther, Gengar, electabuzz Greninja 2 pack, and Tytanitar sets.
Destiny, halo, game of thrones, and call of duty are the only good mega construx sets

I don't see Megablocks and LEGO as rivals. I see MB as the best friend who helps Lego when they can't continue a license. Like the friend who always has your back. That's how I always saw it.

Hardly helping. More like letting LEGO develop interest in construction toys based around a theme, then when the partnering company ends its partnership with LEGO, swoop in offering more sets for cheaper costs. Not that it matters too much, Megabloks have always felt and looked cheaper than LEGO, and the fact they can churn out so many sets (in such a short period) just shows A. how cheaply they make those sets and B. how little screening goes on during the set designing process.

hey. I had that giant build-able lego spongebob. he was partially hollow, with an open back, which let you position a buildable plankton (who was actually to scale, as far as I could tell by comparing him to SB's shoes) to mess around with the computers and machinery that was put inside the bigbob. he even had a catapult in his mouth.
Lego will always be number 1.. But i admit Megabloks makes characters better and in detail.

I prefer Lego because it stays with an iconic shape and it pieces are just more clean and have better quality.

I think LEGO’s minifigures were meant to have less detail.
I really think LEGO should make a detailed minifigures series though.
@a_right_hand Megabloks figures can't be customised, whereas LEGO figures have countless possible combinations of Heads, Torsos, Legs and Accessories. Even specialised figures (excluding Big Figs) have some level of adaptability to them.

Basically, any franchise that would look bad in Lego would go to Mega Blocks
To me the building block doesn't belong to LEGO, so I'm fine with clone companies doing similar bricks, moreso if they are different kinds of bricks altogether. What I'm NOT okay with are those chinese pirates which outright copy set designs (as amusing as they are).
I understand where you're coming from, I've just always preferred lego. They always have more of a push to be creative and the parts are easier to be used universally, where mega bloks makes way too many custom pieces. Also, lego invented the original building brick so I hate seeing companies riding along copying their core product.
I understand your point, but in previous lawsuits of MB and Lego before, the court claims that Lego's brick-to-brick system isn't Lego's trademark, but just a function in which any company can replicate.

Well actually Lego stole the brick idea from another company (the name escapes me atm). Also megabloks has made tons of amazing pieces that Lego hasn't made for whatever reason (such as plates with studs on both sides, SO cool!). As for creativity and set design, Mega has made leaps and bounds, I honestly find Lego to be a little lazy right now with a lot of its sets (don't get me wrong, I love Lego, I'm just glad to see someone else is getting a chance to shine. I haven't bought a Lego set in years, but I still collect Megabloks Halo to this day).

Mega Brands was owned by Mattel, THAT'S MAKES ALOT OF SENSE SINCE THERE WAS BARBIE AND MONSTER HIGH MEGA BLOKS SETS
I'm glad Lego has competition. Honestly their seeming hike in prices, along with their apparent lack of interest in creating good sets (at times) has made me appreciate Mega Bloks (now Mega Construx) much more. The super articulated figures that Mega makes blow Lego's out of the water (although Lego Minifigures are certainly nostalgic and I hope they don't change). Mega consistently gives you more bang for your buck, and doesn't override asthetics in favor of "play features".
They need to make more Lego games called Lego transformers, Lego fast and furious, Lego 007, Lego the hunger games, Lego the mummy, Lego gi joe, Lego thundercats, Lego he man and the masters of the universe, Lego Battlestar Galactica, Lego star trek, Lego pokemon, Lego sonic the hedgehog, Lego super Mario bros, Lego legend of Zelda, Lego Dexter's laboratory, Lego Powerpuff girls, Lego DC games, Lego Ghostbusters, Lego avengers 2, Lego marvel superheroes 3, Lego Jurassic world 2, and Lego Indiana Jones 3, and Lego digimon, and Lego tmnt.

I never liked Mega Bloks, because their product is made of an inferior-quality plastic than the ABS plastic used by LEGO. Something about Mega Bloks' plastic feeling a bit 'off' after playing with LEGO.

I wish Lego had the license for How to train your dragon, those sets would be super good, they would introduce tons of new super cool new parts while reusing parts from the vikings line, but some company called Ionix, who no one has ever heard of, currently has the lisense, and Lego would do a way better job than them. Well, hopefully by 2018 we will have some how to train your dragon three sets

I just found my build a bob in pieces in my closet. I rebuilt him and it brought back a bunch of memories. I have the Krusty crab and spongebob, Patrick and sauidwards house too I just need to rebuild them. I’m thinking about making a UA-cam channel where I rebuild all my legos. I still have all the manuals.

well I must disagree on this. lego keeps on offering new parts with a huge potential for builders while megabloks only sales basic blocs +very specific parts. I would never spend a dime on someone who thinks his products that way.

I grew up with TMNT 2012 Lego sets. I have a couple, the turtle lair, Shellrasier, Stealth Bike, Shreders bike, and so on and so forth

While mega blocks does make some nice looking sets, I've generally found the actual bricks to be inferior in quality and the builds more likely to fall apart. So for me there's just no real competition for Lego.

Yeah Lego should have made way more sets though, the 2005 line wasen't very good because we only got Victor and like three versions of Harry. Two of those Harry minifigures could have easily been replaced with Cendric, and that girl from that other wizarding school minifigures
