    Ted Dibiase Jr. should’ve been a solid guy in the mid card. I personally didn’t see him winning the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship, He should’ve at least won the US or IC Championship. It would be cool to see him return to WWE and maybe have Legacy reunion with Randy and Cody but he unfortunately retired back in 2017 and he’s in jail

    I think the main difference between Ted and Cody is perfectly illustrated by the aftermath of the their split. Ted floundered and was failing to recapture his father’s gimmick while Cody took a minor gimmick (dashing) and immediately ran with it making it interesting and continuing to grow and evolve.

      I think if they actually went all in with his push he would’ve been more successful. They had him in meaningless feuds that ultimately led to the fans feeling indifferent about him.
      Yes he didn’t have as much charisma, but that could’ve been worked on. The fans wanted him to succeed. Listen to those pops he was getting when they teased him turning face in Orton. Even after that with the Dibiase Posse.. which was stupid, but somehow kept him a top midcarder for what his given.
      WWE fumbled him as much as he did himself sadly.

I was going through a tough time due to the loss of my grandmother at the start of the school year and I wasn’t able to start actually playing for the school just yet. My coach was close with Ted because they were from the same outside of Jackson. So he gave Ted my number knowing I’m a huge wrestling fan. Ted called me, gave me words of wisdom, advice and prayer and continued to call and check up on me after that. He is one of my favorite mentors in aspect of life! I’m proud to call Ted Jr. a good brother and friend of mine regardless of what’s in the news or how his WWE career went. The Ted I knew will always be that Ted in my eyes. After Ted was left to fend for himself, he could’ve gone on the mic to solidify himself as a babyface by rooting for Cody’s success on SmackDown while also staying humble and choosing to not declare himself as a potential contender for the world championship just yet as he has a long road ahead of him. He could’ve received the money from his father albeit begrudgingly and picks a few insignificant wins here and there and comes close to being a contender for the US Championship but is unsuccessful. He’s consistently looking at his bank account and you can see the cogs turning in his head as he tries to stay on the straight and narrow with his father making it harder week after week until he eventually embraces the heel turn to win either the tag team championship or the US. His aggression and ego are only growing as he attacks people backstage and even puts hits out against his opponents to injure them.

    Another thing that bothered me about Ted Jr is that pretty much all his signature moves were some variation of the MIllion Dollar Dream, as if his famous father was his entire personality. I always thought the Dream Streets in particular was an awful finisher, with a Million Dollar Dream randomly and unsmoothly transitioning to a Uranage.

      @Wrestleology  Рік тому +1

      True but I also dont think all are set to fail. Sometimes its up to the actual 2nd generation star to do something notable or change their own trajectory. Kinda how Cody would’ve fizzled out if he had never asked for his release and became an indy star

    • @Rebelheart1985
      @Rebelheart1985 Рік тому

      No? If they were set to fail, then there wouldn’t be people like Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Bret Hart, Davey Boy Smith Jr, Eddie Guerrero, Chaco Guerrero, Roman Reigns, The Rock, Curt Hennig, Natalya, Bray Wyatt, and Charlotte Flair who either exceeded their fathers or carved out their own legacies in this business. He’ll probably definitely more. Dominic Mysterio is doing well.
      It’ll get them through the door, but it’s gonna take a lot of shit to keep them there.

    One thing with ted is he always was stuck with his dad's gimmick essentially. From the debut but also in legacy. Cody was very different from his father and brother while in legacy so them bringing it up didn't hurt Cody, but for ted he was still a heel using money to fund their plans (i swear i remember ted paying off randy's fines and bail money). Ted always was just a young rich kid that threw his money around. I think they should have hyped it up as "the best money could buy" where his dad paid for the best training in different fields so that his son was the perfect athlete. I am thinking villain batman here where Ted always has a way to counter people's skills because he trained agianst the best luchadors, giants, brawlers, etc.

    Ted didn’t become a failure to WWE or didn’t fail at all. He wanted to be father and husband to his family and wanted to be there for them then to travel the country, not seeing his family. I respect the man because he’s humble, and he knew that not all money. Is worth it. Just take a look at other super stars.. they can make $150k and up and they still think it’s not enough.
