Deep level was the first one I ever went in back when I was a kid. Used to love exploring the different levels with my dad. Seeing this brought back some great memories, thank you!
Cheers for your message John. I love Coniston. Possibly my favourite place in the lakes. So much to explore, so much history and it’s great to see it all
It was a great effort to go inside this mine and explore the place. My question is did you have someone with you or you were alone? If you went alone then be careful going lone these places..nice video..
@@RamblingWithRitchie Trust me I was afraid of watching it and thinking you shouldn't have gone alone at this place. Glad to hear someone was with you👍👍👍
Been down it many times, few years back now mind you...if memory serves it was and still is an 'Adit' level which means drainage....you can abseil down to connect with the dead end from the old shaft above...all levels below this are now flooded as the water rose up when the mines were closed in early 1900s I think. Before water was pumped up to this level and drained off...
Arrgh, you bugger, I want to do these, but I'm the only one in my group that does srt! That water wheel used to live at Nenthead. I was told needed srt for all of them, dam. I've done 2 videos on the slate mines opposite, should meet up sometime to explore area!

Where do you live mate?
