മുടിയേറ്റ് / ദാരികനിഗ്രഹകയായ കാളിയുടെ ഉടവാള്‍ ഭക്തന്റെ കഴുത്തിലമര്‍ന്നപ്പോള്‍ അമ്പരന്ന് ഭക്തജനങ്ങള്‍

മുടിയേറ്റ്
കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരു അനുഷ്ഠാനകലയാണ് മുടിയേറ്റ്
കുറുപ്പ്, മാരാർ എന്നീ വിഭാഗത്തിൽപെട്ടവർ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കലയാണിത്. ദാരികാവധമാണ് പ്രമേയം. 12 മുതൽ 20 വരെ ആളുകൾ വേണം ഈ കഥ അവതരിപ്പിക്കാൻ. കളമെഴുത്ത്, തിരിയുഴിച്ചിൽ, താലപ്പൊലി, പ്രതിഷ്ഠാപൂജ, കളം മായ്ക്കൽ എന്നിവയാണ് മുടിയേറ്റിലെ പ്രധാന ചടങ്ങുകൾ. അരങ്ങുകേളി, അരങ്ങുവാഴ്ത്തൽ, ദാരികന്റേയും കാളിയുടേയും പുറപ്പാട്, കാളിയും ദാരികനും തമ്മിലുള്ള യുദ്ധം ഇത്രയുമാണ് മുടിയേറ്റിലുള്ളത്. 2010 ഡിസംബറിൽ മുടിയേറ്റ് യുനസ്കോയുടെ പൈതൃക കലകളുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ ഇടം നേടി.

Mudiyettu is a traditional ritual theatre and folk dance drama from Kerala that enacts the mythological tale of a battle between the goddess Kali and the demon Darika. The ritual is a part of the bhagavathi or bhadrakali cult. The dance is performed in bhadrakali temples, the temples of the Mother Goddess, between February and May after the harvesting season.
In 2010 Mudiyettu was inscribed in the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, becoming the second art form from Kerala after Koodiyattam.
