I think the chair stacking puzzle is actually solved by getting the rocket turret to shoot the pipe above you, which would then drop a cube which you can use to get into the vent.

Dan, don't know if you'll see this or if someone has already mentioned it. I can't be bothered to go check. But in that bit where you piled the chairs to get into the vent thingy, you're supposed to set up the portals so that the rocket guy will destroy the tube above the vent, thus dropping a cube that you can climb on to access the vent. But chairs work to :P

The section where you "stack", is typically done by shooting the tube running above the opening with the rockets. A cube should fall, and you use that to jump up.
Typically as in second time through, the prop method is more common because the glass breaking method is only introduced once other than then, so players kinda go "FUCK IT" and make a prop pile because they are lost

at 1:17:15 you can destroy the tube with the cubes to get a cube to climb up.
It's actually a very obvious solution. You use the rocket turret to break the glass, that teaches you that glass can be broken by the rocket. You need a cube to stand on, glass pipe with cube in, very obvious.
It took me 15 minutes to figure that out xD.

Dan that bit where you're confused and just stack furniture, the trick is that there's a tube that has cubes in it above your head and you need to get the guy that fires missiles to break the tube open so that you can have a cube to stand on

You know that part where GLaDOS tells you you incinerated the companion cube quicker than anyone else? What if it's true? what if the minute or two people spend with the cube is nothing compared to the hours and hours test subjects might have spent with the cube, not wanting to destroy it?

You might have just seen it as a lifeless cube, or maybe you knew that there was nothing you could do about the fact that it had to be incinerated,and were just doing your duty. Maybe you thought it was what was best for the cube, or that the cube would be okay. I don't see a reason to believe you are heartless, you just saw the situation differently than the others did.

Dan, I always stack up things at that one part to crawl through the vent but you're actually supposed to use the rocket to break the pipe and a box falls out of it.
The proper way to get up into the fan bit that everyone stacks up furniture for is to put a portal on the floor underneath the tube, get a rocket to shoot through it, breaking the pipe. A cube drops in in a little while, which you use to stand on and climb in.

For the uninformed: After beating the game, radios will spawn in every test chamber (as well as the escape maps, I think) and, to get the transmission received achievement, you must put the radios into specific parts of each map, where they will play a transmission that can be turned into an image using a specific program, revealing concept art and other things for portal and portal 2. I'm not sure when they were added, but it was probably around the same update that extended the ending to being carried away by the party escort.

That circle thing is called Hoopy. The game designers created it figuring that it would become the "thing" that would become famous in portal but instead " the cake is a lie " took that spot. Now you know
