@@scottrichards3587 The fact that it's the wizards tells us a lot considering we lost to them twice. 3 players who have never played a game with this team yet were able to perform somewhat effectively the way we wanted them to is a good thing. This trade doesn't raise our ceiling, but it raises our floor for sure.

@@zerobucketsYou putting too much optimism into it that team is bad and traded Kuzma for whatever that's worth then Quin almost tricked it off luckily he put Trae back in. Beat the Magic and the Knicks. The Bucks didn't have Giannis we have proved nothing man

    • @zerobuckets

@@Perkinstuffafro I don't think you understood what I said. Our ceiling at the start of the season was the play-in. Because of Dyson, JJ, and Dre's emergence, our ceiling raised to the playoffs. Now with everything that's happened, our ceiling went back down to the play-in. So I repeat, learn to understand, because of this trade, our ceiling remains the same, play-in. But our floor raises since we no longer have an unplayable player in Bogi, and we have more depth and better shooting with the new additions. Lavert plays a similar game and position as Hunter, but we won't expect him to be as good Hunter. He just needs to play decently while Trae and Dyson dictate the offense. Bonus if the rookie keeps balling out til the end of the year.

The Hawks had a eight game losing streak something had to change Hunter trade value is at it highest plus the Hawks are a few games winning the South they added three new players they had to do something different

To the people upset that we traded away Dre: Watch more basketball. If you have been watching the Hawks at all the past 6 years, you would have seen first hand how terrible Dre is and has been outside of this season. Selling high on him is 1000 percent correct. Especially when that's going to bolster our bench and strengthen non-Trae minutes which we are ATROCIOUS during.
This is a good trade for us, and anyone who doesn't think that just simply doesn't have a firm grasp on the sport. The team is in it's most promising spot it's been in in probably over a decade. After we pick up a competent center and let the younger guys develop a little more, we are going to be contenders.

@TrueDaturaMindNz at this point they are serviceable players and would come at the NBA veteran minimum. Your looking at it from the Hawks getting a top player. That's not going happen.
James Wiseman and Thon Maker both are 7 footers and can play the 5 or 4, can play at both ends of the court.
Quincy Olivari would be the perfect backup for Trae Young.
