    I am currently searching for a cardio thoracic surgeon at Penn Medicine who accepts Aetna Better Health. Dr. Szeto has a wonderful sense of empathy and brilliance about him. I feel hopeful.

      Great to hear Audrey! We would encourage to contact your insurance provider to figure out all of your options. Here is something I learned about Penn Medicine and Aetna Better Health - www.pennmedicine.org/for-patients-and-visitors/patient-information/insurance-and-billing/accepted-health-plans.

    I had seen a surgeon in Jan. 2019 who suggested a mechanical for aortic stenosis. After watching some youtube videos, I came to realise I had a choice of prostheses and I would prefer the bio over mechanical. Saw the same surgeon again in Sept 2019 and asked about the Edwards inspira resilia and was told there was not enough data on it. Right now, have not had surgery yet, but leaning towards wanting TAVR over SAVR. Am 56 and otherwise relatively healthy

    How long should tenderness last after robotic valve surgery?

    • @HeartValveSurgery
      @HeartValveSurgery  3 роки тому

      That's a great question Ray! Everybody heals at different rates. How long ago was your surgery? Have you contacted your surgeon to discuss the tenderness?

      @@rhlang11 Hey Ray, It might no be a bad idea to give your surgeon a call. That's what I did when I was sore after my surgery. Are you in any form of cardiac rehab?

    • @rhlang11
      @rhlang11 3 роки тому

      @@HeartValveSurgery no. I had robotic and fairing pretty well. But a portion of my chest is fairly numb. Not completely but a tendernes or numbness. It is more bothersome than painful. No. I've not done any cardiac rehab. My chest is looser or more relaxed but the mini numbness remains. Thanks.
