Graham used the rowing club insignia on his helmet, it's not something Damon came up with on his own to honor his parents. He honored his family by running the by then well known family colors.
I watched Damon race in F1. The first thing that i noticed was the type of person he was and the way that he presented himself. Ever the sportsman to a fault. No insults were offered to fellow competitors to my knowledge whatever happened. Damons demeanour was from an era that his father Graham would have been very familiar with. Not only has Damon won a world championship, he has been both an ambassador for his sport and his country. World champions come and go. Maintaining style is a lifetime achievement that never allows you to slip from grace. Damon Hill should have received a knighthood in my personal opinion. You will always have that something that Michael could have never earned, bought or achieved in any circumstance.
Pretty sure Schumacher could live with not being knighted or been the perfect racing gentlemen but he's won more money more champions more fans outwith England
I respected his Dad for his gentlemanly approach in F1 and I respect Damon for the at same quality. Seems to me that once you have won a World Championship then what is the point of continuing, as all you can do is defend that and you will almost inevitably and eventually lose anyhow! A rather pointless ego-pursuit unless it is just for the money!
remember him driving for Brabham constantly off the pace even in the wet, right place right family friends and no threat to Senna his stars came into line for that drive. We all deserve luck but that was a miracle I'm sure he'd agree.
It was the left side suspension that broke not the right side as Damon entered the left corner seeing Micheal Schumacher checking his car in the middle of the track and Damon Hill shoots on the inside of the right corner and Michael Schumacher turned in all of the sudden it was disaster for both drivers as this was not the first time Michael Schumacher done this by turning in on someone on track
6:30 "Schumacher's win at Adelaide..." What the *F* are you talking about?!? MSC crashed in Adelade and took out Hill. The race was won by Nigel Mansell. I am so tired of clueless F1 'creators' that don't know jack sh!t about the stuff they talk....
An absolute gentleman and much underrated driver. He sorted the Williams car out and almost won the Hungarian G.P. in a TWR but for a fifty pence piece of rubber letting go at the last moment. Williams was bonkers to have sacked Damon.
In that moment, they only saw a driver with poor, or at least not that big, psychological strength to get a WDC, and the finances, for a driver that was still rough around the edges is cheaper than an actual champion. Not to forget, everyone considered the Williams cars were so above the rest lots of people thought a monkey or an orangutan could drive them and be champions, so Sir Franck Williams and Patrick Head thought they could sack a driver without much consequences. Speaking of which, their staff managing was not exactly the most brilliant either: the same way they sacked Damon Hill, they only saw Adrian Newey as yet another engineer in aerodynamics who contributed fairly to their success, but not more than other employees, and not the recognized engineer we know now, who contributed to McLaren Mercedes champion titles with Häkkinen and Coulthard as drivers, and to all RedBull F1 team WCCs and WDCs so far
Despite the fact with the memorable memory issues during the Trial of Senna’s accident he is a good human being ! I think it’s time now to share the truth about Williams!!!
Damon Hill is massively underrated F1 driver. By fact, he was the same good driver as Michael Schumacher. Even better. Behind Schumi was the brilliant Ross Brawn, the wizzard of refueling pit stop strategy. Hill did not have anything like.
You forgot Sir Williams and Mr Head were neither exactly the best judges of character nor tactful towards whoever drivers they employed, even Prost or Mansell, hence the probability Hill did not felt that morally encouraged
Schumacher a 'tough and risky' driver is a rather understated way of describing him. He had learned from Ayrton Senna a ruthlessness way beyond the normal winner mentality of the greats. It really was a case of making people yield because they knew he was willing to take them out with him if they didn't.
A long video, but it doesn't contain anything new. Yes, Schumacher turned into Hill in 1994 to secure the championship. He was really lucky Hill couldn't continue either. I really don't know why Williams didn't try harder to get Schumacher disqualified (as would happen in 1997) in order to end a horrible season on a positive note. After this, Hill was at a psychological disadvantage, which led to his poor 1995 season. Williams then decided to drop him at the end of 1996, which meant he had only one more chance to win the title. However, what if he'd chosen McLaren instead of Arrows in 1997? He might have won the title in 1998 or 1999. Perhaps driving a championship-winning car would have prolonged his career. Hill's F1 career was short, but he was already 39 by the time he retired, which is older than most drivers.
Adelaide had been forming in Schumachers mind for a while. I don't fully blame him for it as a result. The FIA have to take a lot of the blame for the way they dealt with Prost starting that tactic in 89. That, as we all know, led to Senna doing what he did in 90. That told Schumacher it was a legitimate tactic, and he probably hadn't even considered that thought till then. Then, as we know, Schumacher made a rare mistake in Adelaide, and used that tactic that the FIA had effectively legitimised in 89 and 90 as his only chance of winning.
Schumacher's first title belongs to Hill. So, in my mind Schumacher has 6 titles and Hill 2. That collision was done on deliberately. From that moment on I've started to dislike Schumacher.
At the time I couldn't believe Schumacher was not disqualified, but I have to admire his determination, even if it was cheating. The guy had so much bottle, and the other drivers knew they would lose their nerve first, that gave him an edge, even if it lowered the qualiry sport in this race where he just took out Hill
Front LEFT damage to hills car. Great video though👍 Of course Schumacher turned into hill on purpose! If they both didn’t finish, he knew he wins the championship!
I watched it and supported Hill however I think Schumacher deserved that championship regardless of Australia for pure driving as he was banned from two races that season and had six points stripped from him at Silverstone and also the Belgium Grand Prix otherwise he would’ve walked that championship!
granted but to me those words of yours matters little. such an action, deserves more punishment and a further reducement of points, or maybe disqualify his whole season for that. whether the rule is there or not. sometimes judges needs to set new prejudicates. it isnt OK to win with methods like that. unsportsmanlike.
That has happened to 9nother driver that who're the blame for someone else's mistake and I think that still plays on him to day plus all the put downs don't help a driver come back people are so f. G judgenial
"...Damon Hill’s Family Reveals the SHOCKING Truth… " That shocking revelation hat yet to come, I think, could be in one of the next episodes, but more likely, never.👴👎🧐🤷♂
There is nothing to discuss about the ugly thing that Schumacher did. In the pictures, it becomes so obvious that it was intentional. He did all too often ugly things on the track, so maybe there is a god after all... No! Hardly! But in my opinion, there were far too many embarrassing incidents involving Schumacher and he was never punished much enough.😊
And the biggest loser was the FIA, With No Further Action. Even the Dutch commentator said that Schumacher do this on purpose. And tries to take himself and Hill out of the race.
Hill was seen by some as journeyman driver without a Natural racers instinct.I thought better of him.Even in a good car a world championship does not come easy, ask Sergio Perez
Schumacher was arrogant, just like Verstappen.Shumacher was good enough to win without cheating.Karma got him,and it will get Verstappen.Remember how he walked away from Lewis Hamilton after Verstappen parked his car on top of Hamilton’s, pure arrogance and a total disregard for a fellow driver.
As normal with these videos Hills early years racing bikes are glossed over bike racing is very much about finesse you risk hurting yourself if you knock overs off and no doubt Damon would have continued with this atitude in cars and why he was seen as a safe pair of hands , Ironicaly Schumacher started to ride bikes as a hobby competing in Germany but spent quite a bit of time falling off .
Why not allow the man to talk... your voice is not what I tuned in for... joker thinking narration is more important than the man himself... I think you don't have the rights to show his interview so you rattle on with vague nonsense...
Damon is very much a gentleman I’ve met him a few times and has always stoped and chatted with him also met a number of other drivers always chatted

Damon hill, what a gent.
Damon i such a brilliantly introspective person. Always wears his feelings on his shirt .No BS.
No ‘SHOCKING truth from Damon’s family’ here. 0/10. 🤔👎
He will always be rememberd for that happy tune you hear under funny videos of people running.
Schumacher didn’t win in Adelaide.
He won the championship!
Pure Gentleman!

F1 ICONS! Still no answer to what the shocking truth is? The last 4 letters of your YT channel really hit the nail on the head as to how you work.

YES it runs in the family ,.His Dad was the same calm personality
Despite the fact with the memorable memory issues during the Trial of Senna’s accident he is a good human being ! I think it’s time now to share the truth about Williams!!!

Yup, Hill is very underrated.

Hill should be awarded that race that was stolen by a cheater not wanting to loose a championship.
Yes, absolutely true.
"LOSE"!!
i was gutted when that happened , all he needed to do was finish the race , schumacher go his karma
Even in modern F1 , it’s a repeating event.
2x WC in my books.
Schumacher a 'tough and risky' driver is a rather understated way of describing him. He had learned from Ayrton Senna a ruthlessness way beyond the normal winner mentality of the greats. It really was a case of making people yield because they knew he was willing to take them out with him if they didn't.
When Schumacher started in F1 he complained about Senna's driving. He was told to "shut up and get on with it".
A cheater. But I hope he and his family will get better. Sad accident
If this was unjust, which it was, then came the season end race of 2021!
2021 season end race still hurts
Was there for his debut at Silverstone.
Damon the number one man
A long video, but it doesn't contain anything new.

I didn't realise all Damon Hill's family were that old.
I think he has a disabled child ?
@@CaymanIslandsCatWalks That's not a question.

Your opinion
He knew how to drive to be the best in a car that wasn’t as good as hills
@@derekkingsford4778 Yes.
He won 22 gp actually winning Jordan f1's first race
Front LEFT damage to hills car. Great video though👍

Surtees?? Surtees wasn't friends with anyone!
Schumacher, and Verstappen - two of a kind. Ungentlemanly behaviour in order to find a way to win.
So... what was the "shocking truth"?
There is no shocking truth, it’s how this F1 Icons lot work by using pathetic clickbait to get views.
‘Villa-nerve’ ???😂😂😂
Neither deserved the 94 title. Schumacher for being a dirty f***er, Hill for being so stupid to wait for a better opportunity.
Bette is pronounced Betty fyi
Michael S was a cheat throughout his career and would do absolutely anything to win and so can never be seen as the best ever.
It was a heated rivalry for sure
Couldn't cheat the ski slopes though
That has happened to 9nother driver that who're the blame for someone else's mistake and I think that still plays on him to day plus all the put downs don't help a driver come back people are so f. G judgenial

You're right, that was poor sportsmanship. All thanks to the halo, Hamilton was safe.
Click bait and bad pronunciation of certain words make this video poor quality…
Been duped again by clickbait. There is no Shocking Truth. Annoying.
I am disappointed about him. The way he all te time talks about Max Verstappen is horrible!!😮
Schumacher ruined Ceccoto''s DTM Championship.
Click bait rubbish, what shocking truth?
Hated Schumacher....
He's not that bad :P
You turned this into a bashing Schumacher video! How pathetic!
Schumacher deliberately took Hill out.
Schumacher was a dirty player. Not a good sportsman.
Schumacher was a cheat he is not as great a driver as people say he should've of had points deducted titke was Hills
I think Damon was a very lucky F1 champion. And Schumacher a very dirty racer….. he is not my kind of Champion.

Schumacher cheated on more than on occasions and given his current health situation everyone is too polite to call it for what it is
