    What a great guy and musician ... Great admiration from good old Germany and chapeau :-) He wanted to run a little bit, but the background music slowed him down ^^ So good!!

    Nice ligato interpretation of A part of John Ryan's, better suited to real dancing than the more common staccato beat when performed just instrumentally. Lovely smooth Dennis Murphy's with the link bits too, and overall more relaxed pace suits your style well, thanks.

      Being a fiddler who chiefly plays for dancers, I guess that's where I draw my inspiration.

    I don't play myself I wish I did but I grew up among those that could. I really enjoy all your UA-cam videos as I sit and listen and enjoy them. It's hard to keep still when you are playing but who want's to keep still! I know you said that you play mostly for dancers, if you haven't already done so. Do take yourself to Co Clare sometime, they have enormous respect for great fiddlers, which you are! There is an old saying in Co Clare when dancers have a poor dance, they blame the Fiddler for sticking their feet to the floor! In your case if you played for them, they would keep you with them forever and i can't say I would blame them! I love all your stuff and I am really delighted to have discovered you here on UA-cam. Very best wishes, don't ever stop!

      Thanks for the information John, I was planning another trip to Ireland, as I wanted to check out where my family roots were based prior to the potato famine, in Tipperary. Once lockdown and things are safer, I'll probably get the ferry from Holyhead, which is not far and drive across, stay there a while and check out some good music sessions at the same time.

      If you play whistle & mandolin you gotta check out Radim Zenkl. He plays both on a world class level. He lost his home in Paradise Ca. Trying to promote him. Hope you don't mind.

    where can i find the tab/sheet music for the version you play here?

    • @peakfiddler
      @peakfiddler  4 роки тому +2

      I just had a good search through my abc collection and couldn't find either of these tunes, so I'm guessing that I never spent the time working out exactly what it is that I play, as these tunes are on so many different websites. However, given that time is less of an issue atm, I will try to figure out what I actually play and work out the notation. Give me a day or so and I should have it sorted.
