It was a hard thing for me to go anywhere but where I've been catching the fire out of the Speckled Trout lately, but I had a chance to bring my best fishing buddy and we decided to play it safe and hang close to the marina in Hopedale. My expectations were just to have fun hanging with Destin the Destroyer and maybe catch a few fish, but we had a some unexpected bites that made the trip before the storms ran us off. I don't normally catch trout this big in this area this time of year.

I fish artificial lures and mostly in the marshes and lakes on the east side of the Mississippi River in South Louisiana for Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Largemouth Bass. These videos are rough edited so I can show them within a few days of the trip and because I don't know how to edit videos. If you fish in the same areas I do, this might give you some idea of current conditions and fish activity. If you have a similar channel, leave me a comment so I can check it out.
How to fish artificial lures. Speckled trout fishing. Red drum redfish fishing. Inshore fishing. Louisiana fishing. Twitch baits. Jerk baits. Jig fishing. Fishing baitcasters. soft plastic lures
Great job dad, we need to teach them young ones how to do it and he has a great teacher.
@@youroutdoors5453 Thanks!
Look forward to all your vids! Representing South LA the right way!
Your little man is impressive! Good job Dad!
@@dallaslassalle2190 thank you! I love taking him. I didn’t know that world existed until I was older so it’s cool seeing him experience it.
@@Jar_Fishing I came up fishing with my father and little brother. We fished Empire, Buras, and Pointe a la Hache back in 1971 and later. There isn’t a morning that comes when I am running to my first spot with the sun rising that I always think of my father. It was definitely a special time in my life. I was lucky to have such a great father.
@@dallaslassalle2190 that’s really cool
Nothing better than seeing young rascals enjoying the outdoors. Great work!
Love seeing a Dad taking a kid fishing. They will repay you in the future.
Great time when Dad can turn the youngster on to some hard fighting red warriors!!! Had to have made his day. Great video as always ! Go to see you closer to my fishing grounds.

I literally took my son almost everyday fishing. Fresh water as a child. As he got older we would go to Louisiana often. The memories and video and pictures I have are a blessing as he’s not with us anymore. He had such a passion for fishing and that came from me taking him so much. Good time. Watching you with a child sure brought back some memories. Good for you spending that time together. Great video. Always enjoy your videos. I fish Shell beach and Hopedale area often. Come there from Mississippi. When was this trip? Some really nice trout there for real. Thanks again.
@@chadwilson6550 Thanks Chad! Life goes by so fast. I’m glad you made those memories.
Trip on July 12

Some good company and great, big catches.
Enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing and good luck continuing ahead.
@@ThePentUpAngler Thanks Mark! Means a lot. My son Destin wanted me to tell you hey. He and I have been watching your videos for a long time. We always enjoy. Thanks for making them. Anybody that fishes in Louisiana should be subscribed to your channel.
@@Jar_FishingPlease send a hello to Destin and thanks for watching! He is already a very good fisherman! Teaching him well! So cool.
Hope y’all keep enjoying.
Awesome video. Dad starting taking us young too. First with zebco spin cast but had us on the old red Ambassaduer 5000 by about 10 years old. Early years he would outfish my brother and I combined by at least 5 to 1. We caught him by our early teens and he couldn't have been any prouder.
@@glenchatelain3067 good stuff! Destin will probably be teaching me stuff in no time lol
Awesome! Looking forward to your next one!
@@MikeHempen Thanks Mike!
Haven’t gone back to hopedale in a while, big problem launching by ya self , and keeping an eye out on gear in boat
Awesome fishing..
Wow! That far inside already!?
Hello!
Wondering if you’ll get back on the water soon.
Fall fishing in Hopedale is getting good!
@@terrybuquoi My boat is almost finished and I plan to be back very soon. It’s been really tough not having a boat. Trust me, I’ll make up for lost time lol. Have you been out there recently? What are you seeing?
We’ve seen lots of bait and lots of 12.5 inch specks. They should be keeper size very soon!
Jar, glad to see you and your son fishin together, I grew up that way and my children grew up fishin with me, nothing better! Awesome video video! Question, do you fish for reds with a crank bait? If so,which lure and which color is your go to? I know that water clarity dictates lure color, would like to know your go to color? Thanks for any information
Jar should've let your boy pull the trout-zilla in the boat.
Great video as always. Hey do ya think the big trout are working their way back into the marsh.
@@terryalley1850 Thanks Terry. To be honest I didn’t expect any that big. If the water is getting saltier it would make sense.
