Thanks, Marek, for inspiring my wife and I to get back into walking. Neither of us is at 100% health wise at the moment so we did the ‘Red Squirrel Trail’ from Cowes back to Newport today. Just over 4 miles. We had lunch at the excellent vegan restaurant ‘Peach’. I had burger and chips with onion rings like a good cool dude. We scored 44 in the ‘Spotter’s Handbook. Cool walk, Marek! And what a treat to have Rowan back. It's tough to beat that space music question - mine would be a mix of classic rock, 80s tunes, and a bit of classical: Led Zeppelin, Talking Heads, Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel and Beethoven . Let's see more Rowan cameos in future walks!
Up until recently I had only really fallen in love with two people, my wife and my daughter. Mareks cool dudes walking club popped up in my life and I’m head over heels!!
Nice one cool dude. The cd's I would take are Ceiling Demons, Stanley Odd, The Beastie Boys, Ceschi and Rancid. I'm just getting over a foot injury where I nearly lost my foot and I did a walk today, it was only around the block but I didn't use a stick and it didn't hurt too much. I'm so bored after 4 months that because I did a little walk I'm thinking of booking a holiday to celebrate.
Beastie Boys are criminally underrated. Am not a hip-hop/rap fan, in general, but I listen to the BBs' studio albums very often, especially when needing a boost of positivity.
I have only walked from Newport to Cowes with my parents and sister as a teenager, my sister moaned the whole way because there weren’t any shops 😂. I would take Level 42, Fleetwood Mac, Human League, Lightning Seeds and Beautiful South 😊

Yes! Marek & Rowan: the Dream Team! When I worked in Our Price (now defunct) we had a CD player with places for 6 CDs and those 6 played on rotation in the shop throughout the day. I'm imagining the spaceship has much the same set-up (with space only for 5 cos the 6th one got chewing gum in it or something)? I'll choose 5 from my 90s Our Price days: Blur, New Order, Pulp, Pavement and the Flaming Lips.

Tough choices for 4 and 5. First three were easy. Jeff Buckley - Grace Radiohead - Kid A Marvin Gaye - What’s Going On Stravinsky - Rite Of Spring/Persephone Sigur Rós - ()
I could just watch these for your calming piano tunes! The ones in the middle of the video, less those for the gallery tbh. Has sunglasses Marek ever met Rowan? They could have a shades-off! CD#123
Nearly 10k subscribers, nice one 👍🏻 5 artists I'd definitely take on bumz1 = 1. QUEEN, although odds are someone else would bring them, so I might say 2CELLOS. 2. BabyMetal (don't let the name fool you, I'm told "baby" sounds like the Japanese word for heavy) 3. Pentatonix 4. Pink 5. There's a salsa song I really love called Me Enamore De Ti Y Que by Grupo Extra. Not sure if they wrote it or covered it, but I'd happily sit in a corner and listen to that on a loop.
I think this is the least angry you've got with Rowen on a walk with her. It's mostly very straight because it's mostly closed railway lines. My space CDs, Talking Heads, John Coltrane, New Order, the Kinks and Beethoven
Nice one . However, used to be a time when this channel had proper facts: 8:26 'We are carrying on to the floating bridge to catch the bus back to Sandown' hmmm, this seems like a falsehood to me . Just off to Carlos's channel to get some real facts (albeit about 12th Century Churches).
Five artists for space? - The Aristocrats (Govan / Beller / Minnemann) - Hiromi Uehara (her Trio, w. Anthony Jackson & Simon Phillips) - Red Fang - Boards of Canada - Kronos Quartet. Rowen's Nik Kershaw pick was definitely a surprise. A synthy blast from the 80s! 😊
@@cdwc Hiromi is a phenomenal jazz pianist and composer. If you want something very heavy and saturated (but not depressing), Red Fang's Prehistoric Dog is unbeatable. And Kronos Quartet is the perfect string quartet if you enjoy modern chamber music and want it played without pretension.
Five CDs! 1. Tapestry by Carole King 2. Soundtrack to the movie Amadeus 3. Dirt by Alice in Chains 4. Appetite for Destruction - Guns n Roses 5. Automatic for the People - REM
Here are my 5 cds that I would take with me to space Cool Dude. ; No.1. ELO's Greatest Hits. No 2. Phil Collins So Serious Album, No. 3. Enya The very best of. ,No. 4. Manfred Manns Earth Band Watch album and finally no.5 Queen Night at the Opera.
Hey Marek. 👍😃 I thought that walk was absolutely fine. Probably not as picturesque as some of the other walks you've done, but Newport is an interesting place with some nice unusual shops & stunning architecture. And who doesn't love Cowes? Such a beautiful place. That floating bridge from East Cowes to Cowes is really expensive now ! 😲 Used to be free for foot passengers ! 😳 How lovely is Rowen? A really nice CDWC guest, & welcome anytime. Great chemistry between you pair, like a double act. 😄👍 Am I allowed to say how pretty she is? Not sure if we're allowed to say stuff like that anymore. It's a crazy world we live in now. 🤨 Where's Sunglasses Marek? Have you coshed him over the head & buried him under the Patio? I thought you said at the start you're walking on a Psychopath. Must get my ears cleaned out. 😳 Keep up with the great videos mate. 👍
I think it's always been absolutely fine to say that someone is attractive. It's when people are creepy with it that there is a problem. So it's fine to say to someone, "Oh you're a good looking person." but it's not ok to say that whilst drooling a bit, staring intensely or trying to lick that person.
Was that Rowan suggesting another new emoji there....Burger Face Marek!? I think i heard. Re the music question...Can't I just take my guitar and see what inspiration hits. I'd hate to be stuck with same tunes on repeat however much I loved them. Ta :-)
Standing on the bridge in the Dodnor Nature Reserve you can look down on ducks, Coots and Moorhens and see shoals of fish moving around often with a Little Egret after them and many marshland birds like Warblers and Buntings are to be seen in the area also, while Long Tailed tits are very common there, and you can look across to the Medina nearby, the bridge is a great viewpoint to watch wildlife.....and you call it "boring".
I was saying the walk was boring in comparison with other walks as it was just along a straight cement path. I did not say the view from that bridge is boring. Also the tone of the video is was that I was winding up Rowan. Obviously you have taken it the wrong way. If you watched any of my other videos you would know I find wildlife interesting.
@@cdwc Had you turned right before getting to the bridge it would have taken you to the Dodnor Causeway beside the Medina River and then led you back to the cycle track. I passed over the bridge a few days ago and there was so much wildlife activity going on, but the nature reserve in the middle of winter is pretty bleak and lifeless, which was when you and Rowan went there. I'll shut up now, lol.
@@cdwc is that because your keyboard sings as you write borderline poetry with each email or did you leave it too close to the fire one night and its melted slightly?
The Red Squirrel should be the national animal of England. Currently it's the Lion, seems outdated to me? Yet, the humble Red Squirrel is a symbol of resilience, overcoming the aggressive attacks invading its natural surroundings, but somehow slowly making a comeback. #RedSquirrelForUK

Looks like a good walk but where are the red squirrels??? 😊 My favourites could be (I have too many favourites...) The Beatles, Queens of the Stone Age, Queen, George Michael and Beethoven.
Possibly the most boring walk on the I.O.W. 😂 Definitely a cycle path. The five albums I'd take into space are David Bowie's Hunky Dory. The Beatles No.1 Hits. Best of The Police. The Jam All Mod Cons. The Wonder Stuff Hup. I hope your next walk has more excitement! 😎👍🏻🐮🐸🦊🐿️🦆🦢🐓🐣🦅

I was born there, and my Dad's side of the family has been traced back to the 12th Century, but I moved away when I was two, and then to the Isle of Wight when I was six.
Beatles and Bowie of course. Sticking with the B’s Bix Beiderbecke (tempted to say Dave Brubeck, another B), does Can count as a B? It’s only just a C. Just remembered it’s not about B’s! Frank Black, oh no another B! And finally the Breeders 🤯

Tough choices for 4 and 5. First three were easy.
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Radiohead - Kid A
Marvin Gaye - What’s Going On
Stravinsky - Rite Of Spring/Persephone
Sigur Rós - ()
You can have an entire back catalogue of five artists cool dude.
Any squirrels?
Zero. They should change the name to 'Boring No Squirrels Trail'.
Does Rowen have a channel as well ,
No cool dude
I would have to take all Cardiacs albums
You still have four artists left cool dude.
@@cdwc True :) Manic Street Preachers, King Crimson, Billy Joel and Trail of the Dead :)
I could just watch these for your calming piano tunes! The ones in the middle of the video, less those for the gallery tbh. Has sunglasses Marek ever met Rowan? They could have a shades-off! CD#123
Rowan killed sunglasses Marek when she snapped the sunglasses in the Chalkhill Blue episode.
@@cdwc So sad. He lives on in keyrings....
Nearly 10k subscribers, nice one 👍🏻
5 artists I'd definitely take on bumz1 =
1. QUEEN, although odds are someone else would bring them, so I might say 2CELLOS.
2. BabyMetal (don't let the name fool you, I'm told "baby" sounds like the Japanese word for heavy)
3. Pentatonix
4. Pink
5. There's a salsa song I really love called Me Enamore De Ti Y Que by Grupo Extra. Not sure if they wrote it or covered it, but I'd happily sit in a corner and listen to that on a loop.
Cool choices. I am glad someone noticed Bumz1. This is what they will call spaceships in the future.
I think this is the least angry you've got with Rowen on a walk with her. It's mostly very straight because it's mostly closed railway lines. My space CDs, Talking Heads, John Coltrane, New Order, the Kinks and Beethoven
I like Talking Heads too.
Probably because she didnt break anything in this vid
@@cdwc30 dpm is amateurish!
I thought me and my immature mates invented the game 'speed nob'!! Great minds think alike
Can't beat a round of Speedc**k, especially in a Maths class.
Sorry 😮Have to correct you but the school is no longer an academy. Its the Bay CE Secondary school 😁 love your video's dude your a talented chap 😘
I think they should just rename it Sandown High and get rid of the Bay bull
@@cdwc 🤣
I went there in the sixties when it was Sandown Grammar School and scary Bill Northover was in charge.
- The Aristocrats (Govan / Beller / Minnemann)
- Hiromi Uehara (her Trio, w. Anthony Jackson & Simon Phillips)
- Red Fang
- Boards of Canada
- Kronos Quartet.
Rowen's Nik Kershaw pick was definitely a surprise. A synthy blast from the 80s! 😊
I have not heard of any of these. I will check them out cool dude.
My 5 are
Philip Glass
Chet Baker
Miles Davis
Vivaldi
Sting
Excellent choices. Philip Glass would be in my top ten.
My Cd’s
1) Black Sands by Bonobo
2) the best of O.M.D
3) fast love by George Michael
4) Dummy by Portishead
5) Calliph by The Verbrilli Sound 😎
You can have entire back catalogues of artists cool dude.
Great to watch rather than do 14.9 miles and errrrrr where were these and no frogs..and not one Rowan is one funny girl 👍
Five CDs!
1. Tapestry by Carole King
2. Soundtrack to the movie Amadeus
3. Dirt by Alice in Chains
4. Appetite for Destruction - Guns n Roses
5. Automatic for the People - REM
You can have entire artists. Cool choices though dude.
I’d take, Pulp, Prodigy, Rat Pack, echo belly, Lilly Allen. Nice little mix of stuff I think.
For the retro space ship I would take Ennio Morricone, The Hollies, Hans Zimmer, The Beatles and Vangelis
Ennio Morricone would sound epic in space.
Does the Winebulance go ‘Glug glug glug glug’ etc
Here are my 5 cds that I would take with me to space Cool Dude. ; No.1. ELO's Greatest Hits. No 2. Phil Collins So Serious Album, No. 3. Enya The very best of. ,No. 4. Manfred Manns Earth Band Watch album and finally no.5 Queen Night at the Opera.
You can gave the complete works cool dude. Queen almost made my list.
Lisa has put this excellently.
Chill out cool dude
@@cdwc I'm cool, but I'll speak up when people don't know what they're talking about. Capiche?
Now thats what i call music vol 24-27 & barry manilows greatest hits
Can't beat a bit of Barry. I have named my keyboard 'Manilow'.
@@cdwc is that because your keyboard sings as you write borderline poetry with each email or did you leave it too close to the fire one night and its melted slightly?
I'd take some Rachmaninov. Queen. Fleetwood Mac. Chopin. And the soundtrack to the Sound of Music.
Good choices cool dude.
My music choices would be as followers. The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Peter Gabriel, The Prodigy, Nirvana
Welcome to the Isle of Wight - Derek Sandy. Can’t think of any others. Use Highdown for the rocket launch?
The Red Squirrel should be the national animal of England. Currently it's the Lion, seems outdated to me? Yet, the humble Red Squirrel is a symbol of resilience, overcoming the aggressive attacks invading its natural surroundings, but somehow slowly making a comeback. #RedSquirrelForUK
I always wondered why the Lion was chosen, as there were never any Lions in England.
Is it true that The Isle of Wight is the only place in the UK that has Red Squirrels? 🐿️
I think there are a few other places cool dude, like up in Scotland. If they come into contact with grey squirrels they contract some awful disease.
@@cdwc thxs for your reply, I just found out courtesy of The Chase yesterday that in 2021, Longleat successfully started breeding the red squirrel. Hopefully the lions dont eat em! 😊
12 stops and home by The Feeling was unfortunately ruined by the addition of Mc Fly.
5 artists was really tough (assuming it's not limited to an album or CD)
The Burning Hell
Quiet Marauder
Fountains of Wayne
Half man half biscuit
They might be giants
Please thank you very much
I only know 'They Might be giants' out of this list. I will have to check the others out.
Rowen''s admission brought a frog to my throat :( ribbit ribbit :(
Looks like a good walk but where are the red squirrels??? 😊
My favourites could be (I have too many favourites...) The Beatles, Queens of the Stone Age, Queen, George Michael and Beethoven.
Probably a better trail to cycle than walk, but another excellent ramble. Kate Bush, Jethro Tull, Beatles, Fairport Convention, Frank Zappa. Oh dear.
Uh oh. The spaceship is overloaded.
Great albums cool dude
It's a tedious walk, until probably Blackwater lol even worse to cycle. I did get lost once, near peddlars, walking back from the bestival
I think it is the most boring walk on the Island cool dude.
@@cdwc definitely, although if it wasn't for the scenery, Shepherds Chine to Blackgang along the evil shingle is up there. Cliff one side, sea the other 😴
Also the Shanklin to Wroxall part of the red squirrel. I think you should do a boring walks of the island section
Blue Oyster Cult, Kate Bush, Steely Dan, De La Soul, Depeche Mode.
As someone else said, the list would probably be different tomorrow.
It is very difficult to guess what future mood you might be in.
Cool walk. Interesting to see you using a cycle route. Were there any cyclists there on the day?
A few maybe 25 to 30 but not busy.
I thought you were a Norfolk boy who originated from Norwich, but you spoke of your school in this video, perhaps I'm wrong!? 👍✌️🖖
I was born there, and my Dad's side of the family has been traced back to the 12th Century, but I moved away when I was two, and then to the Isle of Wight when I was six.
@@cdwc I see, learn something new every day! 👍✌️🖖
The best thing about the graffiti willy is that its clearly painted over a cover up of another one.
my 5 artists would definitely be
1. The Beatles (obv.)
2. KISS (what got me into classic rock at all)
3. Alice in Chains (for when Im feeling gloomy)
4. Puddle of Mudd (they helped me through the worst experience of my life so I wouldnt want to leave them behind.)
5. this is a tough one....hmmmmm...gonna have to go with..some sort of internet jazz, live vaporwave or something, or something odd ball like weirdcore. Maybe Jack Stauber. Hes got veriety.
Moody Blues, Rachmaninov, Joni Mitchell, Genesis and Magnum.
The Magnum soundtrack? I love that.
Pan Flute Instrumental World Hits Volume 1, 2 and 3. The Best of Pan Flute - Leo Rojas & Gheorghe Zamfir Greatest Hits Full Album 2021 and The most beautiful Pan Flute Music ever 2007 Various Artists.
Zero pigeon abuse in several videos now. I have obviously worn you down. Are you ready to admit defeat and love for Pigeons? Or do you want some more!
For some reason my replies to this keep disappearing. Unlike my hatred of
@@cdwc I suggest you listen to some Pan Flute instrumental hits. May help with this Pigeon focused aggression.
By the way we need a Bach emoji for every time you play Prelude in C!
DJ Krush, MF DOOM, Dälek, Radiohead and Max Roach to pretend I have a bit of class about me. Pretty tough to whittle your musical tastes to just five, but here we are.
I only know Radiohead out of those. My music knowledge ended around 1997.
Any zeppelin album, Siamese dreams by smashing pumpkins, moving pictures by Rush, Alice n Chains unplugged, and Billy Breathes by Phish.
You can have entire artist's catalogues cool dude.
I enjoyed the walk, very calming.
I also like seeing what you have for your lunch and how you share food with Rowan 😊
The 5 cd artists to take into Space ... this is beyond difficult.
But for the first week l would have :
David Bowie ( I''d have to choose him every week.)
Cat Stevens
Gustav Holst
The Damned
Level 42
Holst is a good call!
Cool Baby
My space CD´s would be Michael Jackson, Queen, Elton John, Celine Dion and Hollywood Vampires.
Strong choices cool dude.
