    Good info there Louie. My spark plug tops are a little loose, but fortunately the sled runs perfect. I'll probably get some new plugs soon though just in case.

    Its funny that u mentioned the spark plug tops un screwing themselves, at the start of this season i couldnt figure out why I could never get consistant full throttle out of my ol kawasaki drifter, turns out it was the plug tops. Replaced them with solid top plugs and it runs like new, ill never buy non solid tops again.

    I took possession of my 69 399 Olympic and ran the hell out of it for 3 years. Blew one belt and cleaned out the Tillotson carb a dozen times because of water fouling (gas tank cap vent let in snow). I remember putting in new plugs and adjusting the track for stretch every season, and greasing the boggys once every month during the season. I had no issues, no electronics to maintain or worry about, no altitude sensors, belt never got loose, chain never needed adjustment, no air box's, no plugs, no clutch tool. Tools I carried - vicegrips, extra cotter keys, extra washers, a few feet of vinyl tubing/gas line tubing, a set of spark plugs and a spark plug wrench, Philips and flat blade screwdrivers, pliers, a couple of rags, an extra fuel filter, maybe an assortment of nuts/bolts/screws, an extra drive belt and an extra cooling fan belt, a roll of gasket material, a can of starting fluid, a pocket knife and a nail file. But what we took extra care in was survival equipment - Sterno, extra food, extra water, emergency shelter, mirror, string or twine, rope, rubber straps (the predecessor to bungies)

    You said something about getting the timing curve changed. Is there a controller software out there for these or is there someone who does computer tuning on an 03 rev 800?

    Thanks for all the help on these sleds. I just went to pull over my sled and found it wouldn't turn over. I pulled the carbs and the sump was full of 2 stoke oil. Any idea what would cause this 2004 skidoo 800 summit stat for the summer with half a tank of oil.

    Is it possible to get the far side carb boot to air box clamp without that extremely long screw driver?
    Btw sorry to hear about your rev blowing up, I'm excited to watch the install videos for the big bore though, it's more motivation to do a big bore on mine ;p

    Ha what model belt do you use and have the best luck with
    XS 821 or XS 803 ?

    • @PowerModzOfficial
      @PowerModzOfficial  10 років тому +1

      we've been using the 803 - how well does the 821 work? we find that the doo belt doesnt grab as well on take off.

    • @rotaxrules100
      @rotaxrules100 10 років тому

      PowerModz I like the 821 it grabs really good on take off but it does squeak at a idle. I was thinking of trying the 803 and see how it does throw

    • @PowerModzOfficial
      @PowerModzOfficial  10 років тому +1

      rotaxrules100 i think the 821 is a little wider - that's probably why you are getting the rubbing.
