    Great vid. Dont agree about statement at 6:40 about things being dangerous. A big wave that is feathering is way easier to ride than that chop you are trying to catch. Must say its quite impressive that you are catching that wind chop at all. Send it.

      Thanks man! And I agreed windswell is pretty hard to stay up on, but the main reason foiling is so awesome is the fact we can ride these tiny bumps that we could not catch on a surf board or downwind board. But Easy vs hard is not the same as safe vs dangerous. The reality is in 2024 the majority of people buying efoils have basically no surf background. Navigating surf break with no knowledge or experience is dangerous period, It might not be you who gets injured but the risk of a collision is there. Especially in California where there is always a crowded in the line up, wiping out on your fliteboard and sending it tumbling in a wave is a recipe for disaster

    Great video on ultra 2 with carbon mast
    Is there any chance you could do a review with the mn board there really isn't much out about it just promoting videos cheers keep up the good work 👍

      Unfortunately we can't purchase just the boards to review, we would have to buy a complete set up which is a little to expensive. I can't justify buying one for the purpose of making a video as then we'd have to sell it as a used item which is not awesome for a limited series product. If we start getting 10's of thousands of views and subs maybe we'll consider. However I've ridden MN boards and they are awesome. The Ultra high Modulus carbon (UHM) used in the construction is super stiff and light. They feel so much better to ride the standard carbon boards, the MN60 is just as light as an UL2 and it has handles and can take an explorer battery. Definitely a great option for someone who wants the lightness and performance of an ultra but the option to run an explorer battery!

      @@BayFoilswell put! I own an Ultra L and MN60 Wave. I prefer the size of the Wave for riding into chop/waves.

    Can you help me understand the best angle to ride boat wake waves? I have had some success at a 90 degree angle but it doesn’t last long.

    • @BayFoils
      @BayFoils  4 місяці тому

      Unless the wave is very uniform you constantly have to change your angle especially when you have boat wake, wind swell, current all going in different directions. I'm honestly not a big boat wake surfer as my background is regular ocean wave surfing. But every wave is different they all takes different positioning, what works on one wave doesnt always work for another and you have to adapt on the fly and just practice.

    There’s a bug with the Flite software: waves do not show up in Sessions in the app. They don’t match what the controller says.

    • @BayFoils
      @BayFoils  4 місяці тому

      I noticed, I did another session with the standard controller and I registered more of my waves.

      @@BayFoils interesting. I have let Fliteboard know but so far they haven’t responded. If you can let them know as well, it will help. The MN controller stats don’t match the in app Session stats for waves.

    Hi, I’m 220lbs, currently riding an ultra with cruiserjet 1500, Flow1300S and Flow 1100. I can’t go unpowered on swell with the 1500 and Nano, do you think the L2 alone would help ? Or should I consider another wing, like cruiserjet 1800, or try the MN mast with a MN1300, or ?
    Thanks !

    • @BayFoils
      @BayFoils  3 місяці тому

      Yes a UL2 and carbon mast will help. Yes a bigger wing will make it easier. But remember gear will not replace skill/experience and the ultimately the wave you're trying ride is what matters the most. If you're trying to surf really small and slow you're going to have a bad time compared to trying to ride a faster cleaner wave. I'm like 210 with my wetsuit and all my gear and can ride an AIR pro with a flow s 1300 unpowered easy, so it can be done but I also have alot of surf experience and we have good downwind waves out here in CA. I would reccommend sending an email to info@bayfoils.com with more information like where your located, what type of condition your going out in, how long your been riding and we can help you out more!

    How is the L2 board in comparison to the Ultra L board?

    • @BayFoils
      @BayFoils  Місяць тому

      Lighter, easier to plane and better looking all around upgrade.

      Depends on how many tacos and pacifico''s I crushed last night 🤣. With wetsuit pfd ect probably 190-195?

      @@BayFoils That's funny. Thanks, I'm 160, I think it makes a difference. I might just get the big batt.

    • @BayFoils
      @BayFoils  4 місяці тому +1

      It's a 12lb difference for x2 the ride time. I'm catching waves with a sport, I think you'll be fine unless you want it lighter to carry. Use our link if you order direct on Flite's website: fliteboard.com/mike-wang

    Why are you trying to ride unpowered with this wing set?! Try the Wave 1000 or 850C and you will be amazed.

    • @BayFoils
      @BayFoils  4 місяці тому

      Cause I'm fat and wind swell is really weak lol. I've tested the wave 1000 and 850 they have great glide but you really need a "true" wave which we don't really get until north west swells start hitting next month

    • @Fluterra
      @Fluterra 4 місяці тому

      @@BayFoils I get great glide (~10 seconds, and I don’t really know what I’m doing) on a 1000C on lakes.
