thank you sooooo much my freind!!!!! im looking one steering wheel for a long time...and i cant get one just because its to heavy... and now you save me!!! THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO MUCH
Great tutorial, I'm dropping 400 on my TMX setup! Just ordered the same reinforced adapter, & a wheel rim ! I may modify and mount the original box into as I've seen in another video! Also ordered new Moza Handbrake and the New TH8S shifter!!
Hey thanks for the video brother! I just ordered the adapter 5 minutes ago! I have to wait about a month to get it and it was just under $40.00! I’m very excited to finally do this, I’ve had my TMX for about 6 months already and I already have my NRG sim wheel in my hands 🤩 Now I just need to order a shifter and I also need to do an E Brake! Closer and closer and closer 🙏🤩
You’re gonna love it! If you’re on PC, I have links to my shifter and ebrake in the description of my most recent couple of videos, including this one! They’re very affordable and work perfectly
Ahhhhhh, dang, yeah, shifter you’re looking at either the Logitech or Thrustmaster shifter depending on your wheel. Ebrake is very tricky and VERY limited. You’re pretty much restricted to buying a cheap handbrake and wiring it to a button the board inside the wheel. Only plug and play option is the Thrustmaster handbrake and you have to have a TX or higher. Biggest downside to console is the restrictions sadly. I was blessed to get the PC I did for the price or I wouldn’t have one either
haha i like you game controller mount!! i have a speedlink arcade joystick with a joytokey mapper, for shift lever and button HB. I want to try the logitech farming sim stick as a cheap handbrake and button board.
Did you have any issues after putting the wheel on for some reason all the buttons work on the old wheel but the pedals and be wheel won’t read anything
Hey man, do you notice the wheel not centering/calibrating properly? I’d love to use my aftermarket wheel and adapter but I keep having to re centre my wheel.
I don’t, it sounds like it’s skipping teeth when it’s calibrating. What kind of wheel do you have? If it’s not a sim purpose wheel, the weight of the aftermarket wheel mixed with some slightly worn teeth might cause it to jump during calibration. I HIGHLY recommend the NRG sim wheel, it weighs the exact same as my base TMX rim, but obviously feels much more accurate to what I’m used to
@@Kouki413 I’ve got a real NRG steering wheel, took it out of my daily when I swapped to a vertex. Guess it might be the extra weight. Also, I have a t300 which is belt driven not gear driven.
The extra weight might play a part, but being on a T300 I wouldn’t think it to be much of an issue, unless it was pre existing and the new wheel brought it out. Definitely sounds like something is slipping 😥
Unfortunately no, that’s the only downside with doing this to the TMX. Only solution is to either disassemble/cut up the base wheel and mount it behind an aftermarket wheel, or do like I did and leave it plugged in and just lay it right behind the base somehow where they’re still accessible. I still use one of my paddles for reset to pit, but if I’m doing any GT racing with sequential paddle shift transmissions, I have to use my sequential trans button map and just use my sequential setting on my shifter in place of paddles. I very very rarely and doing anything besides drifting, so it didn’t bother me losing them. Jumping up to a T300 will allow you to utilize their quick release system worse comes to worse
@@Kouki413 Thank you for your answer. Indeed the ideal solution is to take a new steering wheel as you say. I do a lot of drifting too but sometimes I also like to play RBR. and I need paddle shifters. Good video anyway.
@@Kouki413 for me definitely a good option with -90 € an old microphone stand, wood and some screws...i had to take the entire wheel apart just for that one R3 button but it was worth I think 🤔 (I left the wheel stock cuz -90€...
I would refrain from that heavy of a wheel unless you’re using a much stronger servo. I’m using a sim specific wheel by NRG Innovations that actually weighs less than the base TMX Pro wheel.
I’m going to be honest man. I wouldn’t bother getting that TMX. The difference between it and the G29 is negligible. If you want an upgrade, save a little more and get a TX/T300RS

You’re very welcome!! ✌🏻
Super tutorial thanks. I made an adapter for my 3D printer so I just bought a new steering wheel and it's really an improvement.

If you want to use both wheels (stock TMX and 6 bolts wheel) by swapping between them, take a look at my Quick Release solution too.

I printed mine for $0.20 and 1 hour of time :)
15:55 now would be a good time to add some mounting screws to fix it to a desk better.
It doesn’t need them. The Thrustmaster clamp is extremely strong. I can lift my entire desk with my servo without the servo moving.

Yup! Controller did me well until I got my setup done on my PC
Thanks I’m gonna buy the parts and get a wheel thanks for getting in detail
This is awesome. Thank you again kind Sir.
Could you not plug the coil cord in and run the wheel without using the buttons?
does it "work" without connecting the wheel back to the board or can you run it as just a wheel and no buttons?
If I remember correctly, if you’re on console, you HAVE TO reconnect it. If you’re on PC, you don’t
can i do this with the t150 and if i do will it work?
Did you have any issues after putting the wheel on for some reason all the buttons work on the old wheel but the pedals and be wheel won’t read anything
Ordered one for t300/t500/tx by mistake. They are not compatible with the tmx 🤦 hopefully the one from action raceworks doesn't take long
Lmao you must not have very good reading comprehension
can u like use the steering wheel from a irl car on a wheel for pc? asking if it is possible...
If there was a mount for it yes, but wouldn’t be logical as they’re very heavy

can i change wheel on thrustmaster t150 pro
Yup, exact same servo base 🙂
Hello.
The steering wheel paddles are condemned with this modification.
Any tips for keeping them?

U can use the old wheel and build a handbrake out of it
Technically yes, but being on PC it isn’t necessary. I use a USB handbrake.

Hello will the motor strain if I put a wheel that weights around 2.2 lbs or will it damage the wheel and how much does your wheel weigh
