Thank you for taking the time to post this experience. I'm looking for videos on how to disassemble the interior of my 2012 to look for bad wiring, and have only found a few videos, with yours being one of the few. So, again, thank you.
With your help, I removed the trim panel, forced the lock rod several times, now it works properly. I will leave the trim panel open and make sure if I need to replace the lock module. Thanks again!
Hey Joe, I just had to Thankyou for your instructional video on how to remove and replace my passenger side door actuator in my 2016 town & country. I bought the actuator when it started buzzing. After about a year it crapped out and locked in the closed position and wouldn’t operate. I watched all the videos but yours was the most comprehensive. I got a price of at least $750 from the Chrysler dealer so I said screw it let’s get it done. Well I don’t know how long it took you but it took me about 12.5 man hours. Plus I needed the help of my wife to get the door latch unit back into place and rear window guide. I guess if you have a procedure guide from Chrysler it’s smoother but, what a bitch if a job. You guys who have older dodge/Chrysler vans with no rear window have it made. I probably made every mistake I could make but I got her done and it’s working perfectly. Thanks again for going through the trouble Joe - If you are ever in Phoenix please let me buy you a few beers. Thanks brother.
Hi I have the same buzzing sound on 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan left sliding door. It is the basic trim and it doesn’t have a power window and door is a manual. I wonder if it is the same procedure to replace that buzzing actuator. If that requires a 12 hour job i cannot do that I think. Thank you.
@@r.a.5625 if you ‘Don’t’ have power windows in your sliding door than it’s a piece of cake and shouldn’t take more than 1-2 hrs. You can probably remove and replace the actuator (bought mine on amazon - make sure you have an exact match and the right side. Definitely DIY. Check some of the other videos and you may find your exact vehicle.
You saved me money and stress. Thanks so much! This also works on 2016 TandC for anyone wondering. Lock would not disengage. Got the panel off and pulled back and forth on the rod enough where it all works fine again. Under an hour total in and out!
I'm working on a 2011 & everything was just as you showed it except there seem to be plastic clips in the middle of the door panel and know way to get them apart.
Mine had no clips just velcro in the center. Could you post a photo of your panel? There may be a hidden screw somewhere but I doubt it. If not PULL HARDER!
Try disconnecting both battery leads for 5 minutes. Reconnect and see if that resets the door lock. If not then remove the outter panel and wiggle that latch back and forth to unlock then try pulling the release cables to pop the door open. Good luck.
@@josephsopala7642 I'll check that out. Butt I've looked all around for another screw. I've ordered she actual plastic pry bars made for the job. See how that works
My door is stuck closed though and stuck in the lock position I have tried everything they said it's the actuator ....and that there are pieces that break easily when taking this apart....no clue what they are talking about honestly....this video would be super helpful...if I could open it....so I'll give it at thumbs up...if you have any advice send it my way
Once you get the cover panel off there is a long latch link that you can move with your hand manually to unlock the door. Follow the first steps of the video until you see all the cables. Good luck.

How did you get the panel off without the door being able to open? We are in the same position.

Thanks, yes I was wondering!!!

What if you can't get the door open? Our door is locked shut and the lock is stuck. Is there way to manually get it open?

Great video thanks
Yours just popped right off. Mine won't pop off at all. Pretty sure one of the clips broke, the rest won't budge.
Some models have another screw under the center door handle. Check that out

Have you tried to manually unlock the door from the inside?

I kept hitting the unlock button on the key fob and pushing the manual unlock button on the door till it unlocked.
Is this the way to do it if the door won’t open at all?
If the door doesn't open because it is locked. Try resetting the relay by disconnecting (wait 4 minutes) and reconnecting the battery. Good luck.
