Raised in Minnesota moved to Maine. I’ve been fishing the Croppie and pan fish out here for 30 years enjoying the habitat, and his true most true mainers won’t give the time of day crappie have been in Maine recorded in Maine 1916 in Sebago Lake.
My family has a lake house near where the chronicles were filming and WE smash on crappie all the time. Love em. I can be jerk-baiting for SMB & LMB and Crappie will smash on the jerk too. I wish someone would ask me to put them on some Crappie. So fun. And our waters are clean as F so… eat up!
That was really interesting to hear what a different sentiment they have on crappies. What an opportunity. Those perch look really cool, too. How is the water clarity and depth up there? I'm into freediving and this sounds like it could be a sneaky good spot that few have probably explored.
I'm curious as to why you locate fish with the livescope and then put Vexilars into the hole? I'm looking for a new unit and I'm curious about your recommendation.
Forward Facing sonar is made specifically for that, looking forward. Also, those units put out so much power they’re starting to create a “force field” and scare fish. Vexilar uses much less power and will never “lie” to you. Target Separation is much better, way easier to hole hop with. There’s a ton of reasons we do this, but that’s a few. If you’re getting a unit for fishing get a Vexilar, if you’re getting a unit to Scout get Mega Live.
Crappie are well established in a lot of Maine ponds and lakes. I know of many Mainers who love to target them, and prefer to catch and eat them over many other native species.

Saltwater fish, rainbow smelt, lobsters , crabs , oysters , clams, mussels. I don't think they care too much about the invasive.

Very interesting on how one of the midwests favorite species is held in much lower regard.
Depends on the lake but there’s a lot of clear water!
What are the specs on your finger? Medium Heavy - Fast Action 🤣🤣🤣
Would you give the names of those lakes to us here in Minnesota?

Would like to make a trip!
God damn, now I’m hungry…🤤 How much for delivery?
Name that lake🤣🤣 no way! Such a shame the way they treat that fishery. They just don't know what they have.
Wish they just try frying up some crappie. They’d change their minds! Maybe it’s the fish name? “CRAP” “IE” 💩
Can also let’s us know why you went from Kdrill to SM liteflite and Lazer? 😂 🎉😊
We use the Clam bit. Just wanted shaver blades this season, that’s the only reason.
Need to Doordash a breadbowl asap
What lake are you fishing in Maine?
Rice lake
I hope the Maine Fish And Game people are watching this and get their heads out of the sand! Listen up 🙏
We need to go ice fishing for crappies asap I got the spot
Name the lake part sounds like you guys are trying to cast a spell or something.
I think you guys need to practice speaking indian like American Indian before you go on your next trip so you can teach me
I love crappie. But ..Mainers just don't want a Crappie fishery. It's an invasive species...and they'd rather it was eliminated...or ignored

@@brianfeeney9493 I love crappie. Most Mainers do not... Pan fish is just a trash fish from warm water..
Changing times!
@@westernmaineoutdoors Southern Maine is changing some...
