2024 Winter Graduate Profile -- Lt. Col. Robert Gobrecht, U.S. Air Force

U. S. Air Force Lt. Col. Robert Gobrecht is the winner of the 2024 Winter Quarter U.S. Air Force Outstanding Student Award, graduating with a master’s degree in Space Systems Operations. As the U.S. moves toward a manned launch to the moon, along with a rapid increase in lunar aspirations among several nations worldwide, Gobrecht’s thesis research explores a gap in lunar surface remote sensing architecture to support possible future cislunar activities. He analyzes the technical and policy-related challenges of such an architecture and offers recommendations on constellation designs, all in support of the future of enduring human activity on the Moon.
On Mach 29, 2024, Gobrecht and more than 200 warrior-scholars and defense leaders cross the King Hall Auditorium stage in celebration of their graduation from the Naval Postgraduate School.
