Any of these done in a pot still? I don’t know what it is precisely, but there’s something hollow to me about liquors produced via column distillation. Thanks for the video!
Thanks. Not sure to be honest. I just know these taste fantastic. Yes they have added sugar and yes not traditionally made. But at the end of the day the only reason we drink these is because of the taste. Individual I know but everyone I’ve offered a glass too has always commented on how good they are.
I take it when you say “hot” you are referring to the alcohol? Rubullion is available as a 40% ABV which might suit you better. You could try adding ice to the high ABV rums and let it sit in the glass for a few minutes. Ron Zacapetta is rather good also
You just can’t beat a bit of floral. Mind you, my Wife wanted to leave me because of my obsession with flowers. I asked her “where did this all stem from petal”!
Clear or white rums tend to be used in cocktails and lack depth of flavour. The rums on test here are quite the opposite with bags of depth and many different tastes. These higher proof rums work well with a large chunk of ice, I just prefer them neat. For sipping, choose a quality dark aged rum.
That's completely false and a myth. There are good rums that are full of flavor. Most of those just go through a charcoal filtering process that removes color. Check out Rhum JM or Barbancourt white.
@@SHAPPGolfs Thanks Alex, well yes you are correct, there are lots of white/clear rums with bags of flavour but I was referring to most white rums. In my opinion a good aged rum should be naturally dark from the barrel. I suppose it doesn’t really matter as long as you enjoy it.👍🏻
Too good for you tube! You should be on the silver screen mate - very similar in style to early Spielberg with maybe a bit of Peter Jackson thrown in for good measure.
With all due respect, your saying "it would be absolute sacrilege" to put mixers in these Rums is sacrilegious in and of itself. Let the imbiber enjoy the rum however they want. I'm a Spirits nerd, expert, and professional (Bartender and educator; primarily whiskey) and nonsense like that is making my job harder! If I want to drink Rum and coke, then let me. Stop spreading this nonsense.
Thank you for your comment. Ok, if you must, I do use these rums in cocktails myself including a Pina Colada’s its far better than standard white rum and adds a lovely richness and better depth of flavour.
I love these but then again I do have a sweet tooth. Rum like whisky is subjective. I have tried a fair few including those from the recognised four square distillery but end up back with these. Appreciate the comments and thanks for taking the time 😀

Are there any dark sipping rums that is not so hot to the taste?

Big fan of rumbullion, straight and with ginger beer
Thanks Glen, never tried it straight with ginger beer so I will give it a go.
I have been reviewing rums for a year now and I have yet to review these rum. I need to start with the Plantation. I love that one.
Yes, Plantation rums are very good. My other recommendation would be the Guatemalan XO, yum yum
Don’t forget to subscribe.
This is fantastic Mr Tim bush.
Many thanks, happy to be of assistance
LOVE a man in floral print, like a young leslie jordan #Freethenipple

I’m now educated to go into the world of rum drinking. Aharrr
Ahhharr Jim lad. Your education is complete, you are a Rum Padawan no more.
Is there a clear rum that works well on the rocks?

3 terrible rums that barely qualify as rum - additives, sugar and continental aging. Try again.
