I was admiring the suits at the start, but it wasn't until the end when I noticed the ruby red shoes that I realized they were each wearing a suit to represent the characters from the Wizard of Oz.
Someones gotta bring up the suits- theyre so good for this set. On top of the performance, this set is one for the history books. Very refreshing to hear a new arrangement of this staple
This is genuinely one of the greatest barbershop performances I have seen in my entire life. The barbershop IQ both in this arrangement and those performing it is unlike anything I've heard in years, absolutely mind boggling. I was already really into 3.5 Men after the Quarterfinals, but this set, and especially this performance, has turned me into a devoted fan for life. Unbelievably amazing.
@@tomcuran8354 Its gotta be LS for me next year, they just have to finally win. Having said that if 3.5 men win i wouldnt be mad at all, they are that good
I loved every song they did in contest, but this one was my favorite! They all sing with such incredible tenderness! 0:56-1:20 is an absolute masterclass of ballad singing, the entrance at 3:47 is serene, Josh's post at 4:39 is absolutely beautiful, etc. This quartet is doing some incredible things and this is only their first year competing!
Love seeing the third generation barbershop doing his dad proud - WHILE singing with his dad. Go JoJo! My new favorite quartet for sure - you all were amazing .. cant wait to see how you do next year!
What a performance.......rung every chord. A lot has to be said about the arrangements. Clay you've always been at the top of my list when it comes to arranging, but you outdid yourself on everything this quartet sang. Just Wow!
What is crazy is this isn't even there primary singing style!! All of them are performers for Disney and not Barbershop style. SO GOOD !!!! GREAT performance !!! should have won GOLD !!!
I went and watched the other performances for the groups above this one. Those judges were wrong! This is the best performance and should have won gold IMO!! Looking forward to following this group!! Thanks for the music!
Wow control! Amazing! And, love the costumes. First thought: Dr. Who, Prom King, Space Man, and...Zoologist(?). Then, I got it! Their music is as clever and stylish as their wardrobe!
Question for someone who doesn't follow barbershop outside of NF4. The guy on the right, he was in Main Street right? What happened to them or did he leave?
They already won back in 2017, and they cannot compete again, since it's the rules, but it's fine to compete by forming a new quartet with different members, sometimes completely different members!
@@lucimusicPH Oh wow. That seems harsh from someone not in this world. Surely that breaks up quartets. I'd be gutted if NF4 had to disband because they're the best aha.
@@Charlie-mr9cn There's nothing to worry about, they won't disband after winning the competition, or forming a new one. They just can't compete anymore, but they still perform!
It's worth noting that this is the 5th Quartet that Tony DeRosa has got to the 10 in. The previous 4 all won gold. (Somebody correct me if he's been in more)
That suit game though...the more you look, the better it gets. The Most Happy Fellows would be proud!

@TheBobbyONeill I think my favorite detail is the straw pocket square and cuffs on the tenor
Tony is about to collect his 5th gold! If not this summer, it will be next.
These guys and the NF4 are the groups that got me interested in barbershop, they’re just so good 😭
Check out Signature too! Those boys send me to the moon
And lemon squeezey too!
And forefront!

It’s the scarecrow Dorthy Tin Man and the cowardly lion
One of the best basses I've never heard!
The resonance from the bass. Wow
Oh! theyre the Wizard of Oz themed! Thats so sweet
I didn't realize that until you said that!😮

im calling it gold next year. (knock on wood) Absolutely immaculate group!!

Also a good pick, but I think they'll get another top three@@superduty4823
Tinfoil guy literally give me shivers man. What a voice.
Oh wait I just realised their suits are wizard of oz themed. That's sick.
@@Charlie-mr9cn Haha I realized that too
There’s GOLD IN THEIR VERY NEAR FUTURE.
These fellas sing with an incredible resonance. Absolutely top notch and that is one rockstar lead.

3:33 THAT OCTAVE
Chris Keough is just insaneeeeee
1:02 for one of the greatest baritone tiddlies of all time.
Tony Derosa showing why he's still a world class baritone!
Incredible arrangement and performance!
This song is a clinic to show that emotional impact has nothing to do with excessive volume. That tag is perfect!
This performance is too good for this earth
This is one of the most musical quartets of all time. So excited for their future. This set will go down in history.
Chris Keough ftw!
Wow! The more I listen to this song, the more I hear how amazing this performance truly is!
Okay what the hell tell me these guys won that was AMAZING. What a perfect performance, and that arrangement is killer too.
they got 4th unfortunately. But I'm rooting for them next year!
The overtones at 1:16 OMG
Such a perfect sound
Is 1:59 an actual note or an OVERTONE because HOLY SMOKES
damn that bassists resonance is out of this world
what a bass!
The laughing at 2:25 is because of the bass jump and the immediate ring afterwards of all four voices. These guys know how to lock in!
Very Clay Hine'ish touch there.
Tears, every time I listen to this.
This is genuinely one of the greatest barbershop performances I have seen in my entire life.
One of my favourites of the contest! ❤
Yeah great arrengment great bass great tenor great lead great baritone...what harmony
how is it so when Josh starts holding the note at 1:00 the tone and control is so damn perfect!?
My heart song, November 27, 2024. ❤😢❤
4:49 HOLY 5th!!!
This was my absolute favorite performance of the entire convention! And one of my favorites of all time!
BRAVO!!!
The first somewhere had me REWINDING!!! So good, so juicy and I just gobbled that up. Excellent all around.
4:10 insane overtone
Wondeful version (that arr.!) great quartet!!!
Absolutely LOVED it!!!

Unbelieveably Beautiful ! Loved the blend and gorgeous arrangement. Great Costumes enhanced the performance ...Loved this !
OMG!!!
omg!! 😮 wowza!!!!
What, and these 3.5 men did not win? How is that even possible?? Who was better than this???? Made me cry, every single chord was so perfect.
Midtown broke 2 records in this contest, it’s hard to beat that
at 3:52 , you really could have heard a pin drop!
wow
Wow that was amazing! And I love how they dressed the part….tin man lion, scarecrow? Bluebird? ❤❤
Dorothy
This is magnificent!
What a wonderful arrangement!
2:36 Obsessed...
hot DAAAAMN!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just wow! That tag
Transcendent!!❤
These guys are really good
Awesome!
Dynamic

impressive singing
Geez it took me a moment to figure out the outfits match the Wizard of Oz characters, lol!
Anyone notice the laughing at 2:32?
It’s because in the live performance the camera zoomed in on the lead’s ruby slippers.
That tag…
If this was the first barbershop tag I’d ever heard, I would not have a 30 yr BHS card.
Day. Um.
Killer.
Hauntingly beautiful, gentlemen -- but your long "oo" sounds are all bottled up :)
