As a auto OEM employee I can say only say that a lot of brains are applied when oroduct variants and features are decided. So the car should only be kept in stock condition. The only accessory that can be bought are mud flaps and floor mats.
In this case there are a few things that are red flags.
1: The ecu software of this variant is not tuned to take command for fixed acceleration and command is being fed through OBD port which is not possible.
2: OBD port is designed to only give error codes and used for software updates. In this case the devise is messing up the original software.
3: MIL light only glows when there is a hardware glitch and not software glitch.
4: ECU is forcefully getting the command for fixed speed but in. ase of emergency braking your forced cruise control will not get disconnected.
5: Your external device is creating extra load on wiring and battery. Your model is not designed to handle that.
6: In case of caliper to caliper fitting also your warranty is nul and void because you have inserted external hardware and software.
I rest my case.
Point 4 is absolutely wrong .. I've tested it. So is point 6, next cruise team fits this device on car to car basis. It doesn't tamper with the signal generated by the race peddle , it simply mimics it
It only gives input to accelerator paddle and reads the input from OBD port
1. So you mean to say in lower models we can't force ecu for a fixed value of throttle even with accelerator pedal
2. Live data can also be collected from obd port so it's not like that it is only designed to show errors and all
3. I didn't understand your 3rd point so I'm ignoring it
4. It's not how things work brother if the device senses sudden de-acceleration it'll go off that how things are made
5. Another invalid point car manufacturers know what people will do and how things can go wrong so they choose wiring like that only
6. Warranty only gets void when you tamper with wiring cause there is no extra voltage or excessive current going in ecu to fry it warranty won't go void. Companies put stickers where warranty will be voided and if those stickers are even tampered with warranty then will go void .

Instead of dial, they should give a steering wheel stick like some old OEMs like fortuner which cost less 👍🏻and the led light strip should be black colour to be inconspicuous
Steering wheel of every car is different that’s why it is not universal

This type of installation requires alteration of steering wheel cover also this may be easy to install in every car
I agree, they could integrate everything into a stalk(even lights), also I wouldn't mind making a hole in the plastic trim to accommodate this arrangement. Will look very clean and stock IMO

Cruise control comes mainly in costly variants
Now I feel they can bring ADAS features also like this by adding 360 cameras and controlling brakes and steering.

There are many companies like Bosch and many automobile startups offers Adas system for cars and trucks. It's upto the user who wants to buy it. ADAS is not new technology. Hyundai had adas 1.0 features in Sonata first model itself. Those days Indian roads were not suitable. It was a failure. Now we have good highways Mahindra came up with XUV 700 with Adas the market highlighted with features , young generation wanted it as style mouth to mouth talks helped to gain interest in cruise control, adas systems like auto headlight , self reverse parking, auto brakes , speed sign reader, object identification. now all brands with Adas features. 😂
