PS: if you have sound for the animation go In the Animator, the transition between states you need to go to interruption source under the inspector and select Current State. Also allow exit time but leave at zero.
Do you need dynamic bones for it to work? I did everything in the video but when I come into contact the animation does not activate (The animation works correctly on its own and the fx layer I use is a new one)
So I tried this and I have all the settings like you do, but in play mode when I do the boop trigger, works fine but when I move the sphere away the face is still the animation for the boop and wont change even through the other gestures
I also have the exact same issue, even tho I did every step exactly the same as in the vid. I already did it once but this time its not working for some reason.
yes, you can do a material swap for an animation in replacement of the other animation. Pretty much anything you can do for an animation can be applied
just one thing to add, building animations on the main avatar is a bad idea as sometimes it'll break the avatar, always create a duplicate and work on that then delete when its no longer of any use
Is there a way to contact you somewhere else (like Discord or something)? I did all the steps you showed in this video (not nessecarily for a boop contact but it's with an audio source) and it just doesn't wanna turn on the audio source object and I'm out of ideas on how to fix it.
I have a problem with testing my contacts in Unity and nothing on google apparently has information on this issue so I've come back here to ask; My receivers and animations work fine ingame, but on Unity's side when testing with a Sphere that has a Sender with the proper values (finger, hand, etc) in it, it simply does not trigger the animation to play that's supposed to, even if the parameter itself changes from 0 to 1 in the inspector of the receiver object. I've tried with blank animator controller and also using the FX animator in the controller field, neither works. This makes testing receivers extremely hard since every time I make a slight change or something doesn't seem to work I have to tweak it, build the whole avatar, go ingame and try to find someone to press my buttons just to try them out. I've had this issue ever since the avatar dynamics update, could never get the sender test sphere to work in my avatar project. Does anyone have any way to fix this or any insights on what might cause this? If you need additional information I'll gladly provide it. Unity version 2019.4.31f1 with SDK ver 3.2.1.
I've done a lot of hunting around online to try and fix the boop I have for my avatar, and this is literally all I could find that actually explains it well. Thank you so much. One question I have: Are integer or float parameters required for contacts to work? I currently have mine set up using toggle params, and I'm wonder if that's why they don't work.
Make sure your integer is spelled correctly in the animator and contactor in the inspector tab. Also, make sure the contactor and reciever are set to the same trigger (like finger, for example)
how do i make toggleable contacts? been trying to make one for hours, when the contact is touched, it disappears right after it makes contact. been trying for like 3 - 4 hours, did the same thing i did with my bat with sound and contact and it doesnt work, probably because it has facial expressions and audio in it idk. if anyone can make a video that would be nice
I don't make comments often, but holy shit you saved me on this bro. Earned a subscriber and loved the tutorial.
Gotcha dude

Thanks for always making such great tutorials :D

i can not get it to work like the layer works fine, but i cant get the particles animation to show up upon contact
Bruh, good shit Burna.
This is amazing holy shit!

I have the same problem :/

check the parameters, Im pretty sure something in your fxlayer is not exactly has he has shown it
Same problem can not find a fix still :/
If i changed my textures/materials for the face in response to the boop would it work the same way?
yes, you can do a material swap for an animation in replacement of the other animation. Pretty much anything you can do for an animation can be applied
Very helpful, thank you!
i have run into another problem, I have the animation for headpats, followed this step by step but it doesn't seem to work now, no idea why

My animation plays on wake, as soon as I hit the play button... how do I fix that?

How do you add sounds with this?

I believe so, Ive done the same thing and it doesnt work either.
I have mine set up with a bool and it works fine when I test it. .o.
Is there a way to make it play a sound when triggered instead of an animation?
do you know how i would make it so when I touch a trigger it plays the animation until I touch it again?
Do you keep the sphere you used to test it?
No, you can delete it. Its not attached to the avatar so it has no affect if you delete it
@@burnaking9968 Thank you so much!
tried the exact same thing, going into edit mode does not let me test the contacts, nothing happens

nvm i managed to fix it @@burnaking9968
Is there any way to make it where when you get booped little particles come out?
If not, that's totally alright! Just a question ✨
You can, just include the particle effect to toggle on in the animation and it will play
ah ~ lost me at 3:47 :(
I use vrcfury and not sure how to make this work with it. :( Thanks anyways though.
Is there any way to make the contact a toggle instead of "when pressed"
I was wondering, if you have a particle system. How do you turn this off when the receiver isn't touching.
It should stop if its an animation
No sé que digas en el vídeo no hablo inglés pero tú vídeo me ayudó a impresionar a mis amigos con el bob así que muchas gracias
thank u burna kindg
