Hey, thanks for the video. I have the same setup plus the ZHA4 amp, H6, sm58, and xlr cable are from Amazon basics. However, I have an issue with noise more specifically I can hear the radio in my monitors. The radio disappears when I turn on the PAD button but again there is a white noise that is very distracting.
Amazing!!! Thanks, Ryan!!! I am using SM7B and H6 have been trying to set them up...this gave me a good idea of where to adjust mine...still have some doubts about mic positioning I am using a RODE PSA1+ boom arm and given my camera I am in the constant battle to see where I should have it to look let's say not bad😃...thanks again for all the info...😀
The funny thing is that, yes I do have to turn up the pre, but I don’t introduce a lot of noise floor. I should get a signal booster. It’d probably make things easier.
That's great, Dave! I hope you do. It's a pretty good and versatile piece of equipment. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a MixPre or something a bit more high end, but the H6 is great! Thanks Dave!
Ryan, I'm still using my H6, I wanted to know how to use my H6 lineout into my iPhone 13+, I wanted to use my iPhone for my Facebook and UA-cam lives, any suggestions are greatly appreciated...
Hi Ryan, interesting! I have a question. When you were adjusting the levels, you where not doing it on the gain buttons but on an installation I assume. If you would be recording out in the field and don't have a mixer you would do it on the gains, don't you?
I think the idea Ryan is putting out is that have your settings done once in a while based on your recording area. If it's outside, I think maybe it's better you take some headphones with you and do some testing of how it sounds or how it grabs sounds based on that park/road and tune it on the go manual Gain I just tried to adjust them while recording sorry Ryan haha....and it gives this weird white noise of some sort while recording it...I am also new so figuring out things...Good luck!!!!
Ryan, would it be possible to use the H6 to get two seperate stereo ouputs (Mic 1 L, Mic 2 R, and Mic3 L, Mic4 R) into the ATEM Mini, splitting them there into four seperate mono channels? Basically, what I'm looking for is a compact mic preamp/mixer to hook 4 microphones up to the two ATEM Mini line/mic inputs so that I can switch them on/off with ATEM Software control individually. Hard to find in a compact form factor. Thanks for the great info BTW, keep it up.
Hi Ulli! Unfortunately I don't think that is possible. Because it only has the stereo line output you can only send a left and right channel. Plus the headphone output just mirrors the line output I believe. I'll look into it a little bit more, but from what I can see it isn't quite doable right now. Hopefully that helps!
@@RyanKnowsNothing Helpful, thanks Ryan! I can safely cross the H6 from my list of options. Looking at an RME Quadmic ||. Hopefully I can unbalance the 4 outputs into two stereo inputs, split them back in the Mini.
Unfortunately no. I think this was designed and released before Podcasts were such a big thing. You can get a small headphone splitter/amplifier, but that kind of defeats the compactness of it.
Great tutorial man.. I'm just jumping in in the world of recorders so thanks A LOT for your work...
Anytime! Thanks for watching my long-winded self.
I purchased over six months ago and just getting around to trying to use it. I appreciate the tutorial.
Thanks Ryan, I'm buying H6 this week. Good to see your channel.
wow ... what a great tutorial... thank you.
Your welcome!
that go button app is awesome, thanks for sharing!
thank you so much. Great tutorial. definitely trying all you mentioned
Great video! Now I understand how to record a pro podcast with two or more people in the same room.

Hi! Do you need Cloud lifter for the SM7B? Thanks!
Much appreciated Ryan, really surprised that you didnt mention using a cloud lifter/ mic preamp for the SM7B with H6. 👌🏿🙏🏿

Great tutorial Ryan, I have an H6 which hasn't been used for a while. I'm minded to get it out and have a play.

My is my zoom giving a hiss sound or floor noise when i connect my rod pod mic via xlr? 😢😢😢😢
The cable you had when using the ipad, did that go into the ipad or to the line out of the H6?
Hi Ryan, what's that stuff that you touch the screen beside the H6

Hi , what the name software you use?
Is there any software for Android?
Thanks
I usually use Pro Tools or Studio One, but it comes with a free "Lite" version of Cubase.
Can you have 4 headsets on it as well while mics are connected. And everyone can hear each other with the headsets?

Thank you. Very informative!
