The Super Dreadnought is easily the best ship in the game. Capacity 2 makes carriers almost redundant as the dreads hold enough fighters to bring their own escort or infantry to take a world - you can get away with the minimal forces because Harrow makes ground combat devastating for your enemy. The only races that can really stand up to a Dread invasion are Yin as they steal a guy, or Sardakk with Valkyrie weave as you must have more numbers than them or you can’t win.
The flagship is overkill sometimes, but when it leads Dreads it can and will crack any planet.

Extremely strong race! Just played my first game with them. I lost, but it was a very close game and I could definitely play them better. Some tips for this faction:
First off, get the Inheritance Systems!!! If you're able to, get a planet with a yellow tech specialty and Sarween Tools. The very next tech you should be getting is either Warsun or Super Dreadnought 2. Warsuns are even better with the L1Z1x thanks to all the crazy bombarding.
Secondly, the flagship is not as strong as you might think. The buffs are awesome, but the 1 move stat makes it extremely difficult to use in more than 1 area of the board. If you want your flagship I recommend the Gravity Drive tech.
Third, your bombarding is second to none but never forget to bring ground troops! This was one of my biggest mistakes and is one of the reasons I lost. Got to 8 points though so not bad.
Fourth, take advantage of the capacity in the Super Dreadnoughts. And the War Sun. Get them early and use them as transports.
Fifth, beware of races that can auto assign hits. Yin being the obvious example.
Great video! I've loved the seeies so far!

I'm in the middle of a game with L1Z1X and my first round was extremely lucky/powerful. I picked Warfare and was able to secure a yellow tech planet next to Rex, grab the 2 in-between, one of which turned into a 5 influence planet after getting an attachment, and the Wormhole planet next to my Homebase. My first tech pick was extremely difficult because I wanted to get Inheritence systems ASAP, but the tech planet I got was a 3 resource planet and diplo hadnt been popped yet. I ended up going with Biostims and was able to produce at my home planet with 11 resources in the first round. Problem with having a great round is everyone notices and it scares them against you. I got Tech Round 2 and picked up I.S. but all the dreads I've built are stuck with one movement. I was able to pick up M.Rex though, but now have no tokens and a board of enemies.

They only start with one carrier... but the dreadnaught has capacity 2 so the Mindnet has just as much potential for early expansion as a faction starting with 2 carriers. I’m not sure what prompted your comment to the contrary.

I'd never thought of them in terms of the Nekro Virus, but that does make sense now you say it. I do like Inheritance Systems as a faction tech. It has been a while since I last played them, but this guide has got me itching to try them again!

Thanks for the video! Small clarification: You said the flagship "hits twice on a 5" which to me sounds like, "roll one die, if you get 5 or greater you get two hits". It made me go double check the rules (I've only played one game). The rules state that you roll two dice instead of just one (one for each burst symbol). Each die hits on a 5.

@2:44 You could not have picked a worse system to use in this example. HA!

What do you mean? How is this system different from the other?
