People focus too much on whether they're 1st part or not. Good games are good games no matter what and where it came from. People are just mad because they don't do this "hype" train anymore for games that don't come out for 10 years.
I'm not interested in the "pro" model of the ps5. I think is petty for console makers to rip people off by giving us a sub par system and then some time later give us the pro or "complete " version of the same console. It's a bunch of crap and greedy. I'm glad Xbox stuck to their series x and felt no need to do a "mid gen refresh ".
The problem occurs when they decided from the start that they would even have a mid-generation refresh model. That purposely limits the lifecycle and consequently the value of the hardware. People who want pro will wait for Pro. People who want inexpensive will get regular. It really is that simple.
Who gives a shit about a PS5 Pro? Im so sick of hearing about it. We haven't even seen these consoles that already exist reach their full potential and capabilities especially as far as 1st party is concerned, so why should anyone be interested in an even more expensive console, when we still cant get 1st party games for the one we already got that show the power of the hardware. Fuck PS5 Pro, tbh. I'll stick with my PS5 and PSVR2 that Sony barely supports.
I am looking forward to Wolverine, Santa Monica, and Naughty Dog new IPs, Ghost of Tsushima 2. I also want to see what Bluepoint has cooking up as well. PS5 Pro if it is as good as they say I might upgrade asap.
Well I don't really think we'd see whether it's truly a meaningful difference/upgrade for a bit, so I don't think asap is a thing unless you're okay with just some decent changes and updates! Also I wonder how long it world be on the market for before full next gen consoles (ps6)

There will be upcoming games that get a PS5 Pro Enhanced label, apparently, like the PS4 Pro Enhanced labels. Not every game will get this, so it's for the gamer who wants a top tier experience, not the casual or the content gamer. Same with Playstation VR. It's a peripheral not for casuals, and not for most gamers, but it's a great peripheral if you have some extra cash & wish to expand your library. But these things take time to develope for. Stay tuned.

Pssr for the ps5 pro specifically is almost irrelevant seeing that MS has been developing ways for developers on PC to use tools that help enable "auto" fsr, I think they're working on a dsr tool as well, and isn't fsr going to be workable on current gen consoles if not already ?? Without the need to buy a mid-gen refresh/upgrade console. For example, there were reports mentioning One of Xboxs first big games releasing to take advantage of fsr is Indiana Jones in order to hit 60fps and some kind of upscale res. Does anyone think Sony would prevent things like fsr being used on base PS5's to promote PS5 Pro sales and advertise fsr/ pssr being only available on the pro model?? I love how SE and CBU3 does their MMOs with story first and the mmo parts second lol. They hooked me with that approach 20 years ago! And because of that, it just don’t leave room for any other GaaS game, and that’s how it should be. I just can’t imagine how people can handle 3+ GaaS games at a time, especially with how most modern GaaS games tend to bloat and develop their gameplay around sucking up the most time possible out of us with mechanics and gameplay meant to waste our time rather use that time meaningfully towards something.

This is 100% true. What we do know is Silent Hill, Phantom Blade, Wolverine & Death Stranding 2 are all cookin & nearing end of development. Beyond that we can speculate because we know what studios Sony owns. I'm more excited for 3rd party VR atm cuz some great games are coming in 2024 / 2025

This machine can't accomplish ANY of that, the whole generation is a sham & a money grab. & to prove what huge liar Cerny really is he even said the tech was so advanced Ratchet would only work with their extra special ssd...which they then ported to PC & it easily plays on an HD. This has nothing to do with # of games. This has to do with Sony stealing our $ for an underpowered piece of crap console.

Sony really needs to step it up with games and with the Ps5 Pro/ Trinity. We want full backward compatibility. Such as inserting discs and downloads for ALL PlayStation titles across ALL platforms. @davidleyva3006 TBH, the only big first party game that I'd see dropping next year with such little announcement in advance would be Ghost 2 and then something that might be a little smaller in scale but still be fairly big in terms of sales and desire from folks is that alleged/ leaked venom game. Actually ... now that I think about it, that Horizon remaster, and then that rumored Uncharted remake/reboot If we do get a fairly decent size show coming up for the PS5 Pro, I could see all those games I mentioned dropping next year. Would have over a year (1.5 years) to market and talk about the games. And Death Stranding 2 does seem likely to be dropping dropping next year, but of course that's 2nd party, but still!

I have absolutely 0 faith that Sonys studios can put out quality products anymore. Hard disagree 🙅♂️ Those games hit a high quality mark. Miles Morales had 120 hz, 60 FPS & Raytracing modes. Last of Us Part 2 even earned Game of the Year with numerous other awards & nominations.

I didn’t buy Spider-Man 2 for a black history museum, bipoc artists(why even say bipoc just to be exclusionary of white people, why not just say artists), asking a gay guy coming to homecoming, encouraging a black deaf girl to illegally spray paint on buildings. Spider-Man Miles Morales gave Miles an actual good Spider-Man story arch. Miles in SM2 was just the DEI guy and totally butchered half the game for me. As for the last of us part 2. Ellie and Abby were perfectly fine heartlessly killing tons of other people but both stop when they meet their actual targets? Abby had full intentions of killing Ellie in the theatre, Ellie is beaten and then just because her friend didn’t want her to kill Dina because she’s pregnant, she just leaves Ellie alive as well? And then the cycle repeats with Ellie almost killing Abby this time. Horrible story

This is a reflection of Joel's decision when he betrays the Fireflies. Abby betrays the WLFs to save Lev. As for Ellie, she was consumed by hate & revenge, killing all of Abby's friends. Ellie even chose to leave her wife & child behind to pursue death. When she has the chance to kill Abby, Ellie realizes this isn't about her vengeance. It is about the fact she never forgave Joel for his actions to save her. In the 1st game, Ellie says she's afraid of being alone. That's how Part 2 ends, she's alone. There is a theme in Part 2, it is expressed in song at the beginning, sung by Joel. If I ever were to lose you 🎶 🎶 I'd surely lose myself
In terms of first-party Sony stuff... about the only thing I'm looking forward to is Astro Bot. Nothing else really interests or intrigues me sorry. This continued GaaS push for things like Concord and Fairgames is still garbage to me. But obviously that's just me. If you are excited for this (I don't see or understand why you would be but...) then I'm happy for you I guess. Unless one of these new IPs intrigue me (which seems incredibly unlikely but obviously only time will tell) then nothing else really interests or intrigues me. I'm still waiting on the reveal for things like FF9 Remake and Persona 6. But these are obviously third-party things. So yeah. But just me obviously.
Idc who owns what, I care about good games. Phantom Blade, Silent Hill 2, Wolverine all look great to me. I'm sure something Resident Evil related will pop up. Terminator Survivors looks promising. I even think Outlaws looks good. More games will be announced as we inch closer to the new year. There's some great VR Games coming so I'm not even worried about it.

What 1st party games have we seen that aren't remakes/remasters or Insomniac games from 1st party. A console that will soon sell more then 100 million units, will always take precedence over a peripheral that will be LUCKY to sell 10 million units this decade, & has sold maybe 2 million units or less. I love VR too, but let's be realistic, the market has always been full of indie & cartoons, with an OK amount of AA games, & the very rare drop of a AAA game, & that's not going to change. Sony gave you 7 Exclusives in 2023. Luckily, Alien, Metro, Wanderer all confirmed 2024 & arengreat lookin AA games, top end AA games in fact, & Behemoth, Low-Fi, Zombie Army & Aces of Thunder all for 2025, with 2 first party games in development. I wouldn't worry too much about the hit piece articles paid by Meta. Just enjoy Wanderer in September & Alien & Metro will be here in no time.
I think realistically the development times are long so when they give us big games years back to back there has to be time for the next game to cook. Look at Xbox, they finally are in a place where their development teams are ready but how long did that take? If you look at it logically it all makes sense.

Think about it, Xbox has all of these new games coming, they have the marketing rights for CoD now, and they’re putting CoD into Game Pass day one. If there was ever a good time for Sony to have a showcase, now would be the time. Why would anyone buy a PlayStation over an Xbox at this point, when Sony has no roadmap? I’m a PlayStation fan, and I can’t really think of good reason why someone should buy a PlayStation over a Xbox at this point in time. This just shows that Sony needs to have a showcase sooner rather than later, because things can get ugly for Sony if they think they can keep coasting on previous success. It makes no sense, and it’s a slap in the face to the people who invested in a PS5 that Sony is planning to release a PS5 pro this year, but don’t plan to show any new games alongside it. You won’t see Bend Studio till at least 2026, and it’s a live service game so it’s a 50/50 shot whether people will even care.

I didn’t buy Spider-Man 2 for a black history museum, bipoc artists(why even say bipoc just to be exclusionary of white people, why not just say artists), asking a gay guy coming to homecoming, encouraging a black deaf girl to illegally spray paint on buildings. Spider-Man Miles Morales gave Miles an actual good Spider-Man story arch. Miles in SM2 was just the DEI guy and totally butchered half the game for me.
As for the last of us part 2. Ellie and Abby were perfectly fine heartlessly killing tons of other people but both stop when they meet their actual targets? Abby had full intentions of killing Ellie in the theatre, Ellie is beaten and then just because her friend didn’t want her to kill Dina because she’s pregnant, she just leaves Ellie alive as well? And then the cycle repeats with Ellie almost killing Abby this time. Horrible story

In TLOU 1, Joel escorts Ellie across the country because she is the key to a cure.
Instead, he kills the Fireflies & dooms the world.
It's because Joel is a father & he cannot go through the trauma of losing another daughter again. The bond he's built with Ellie.

Abby cannot bring herself to kill Ellie because Abby is haunted & disturbed by the revenge she took on Joel.
She expresses this in subtle dialogue & in her dreams, Abby knows her father does not approve of her vengeful actions.
Abby decides to let go of that hate because she's been down that dark road before.
She only really starts to feel at peace, when she helps Lev & Yara.
This is a reflection of Joel's decision when he betrays the Fireflies.
Abby betrays the WLFs to save Lev.
As for Ellie, she was consumed by hate & revenge, killing all of Abby's friends.
Ellie even chose to leave her wife & child behind to pursue death.
When she has the chance to kill Abby, Ellie realizes this isn't about her vengeance.
It is about the fact she never forgave Joel for his actions to save her.
In the 1st game, Ellie says she's afraid of being alone.
That's how Part 2 ends, she's alone.
There is a theme in Part 2, it is expressed in song at the beginning, sung by Joel.

In terms of first-party Sony stuff... about the only thing I'm looking forward to is Astro Bot. Nothing else really interests or intrigues me sorry. This continued GaaS push for things like Concord and Fairgames is still garbage to me. But obviously that's just me. If you are excited for this (I don't see or understand why you would be but...) then I'm happy for you I guess. Unless one of these new IPs intrigue me (which seems incredibly unlikely but obviously only time will tell) then nothing else really interests or intrigues me. I'm still waiting on the reveal for things like FF9 Remake and Persona 6. But these are obviously third-party things. So yeah.
But just me obviously.
Idc who owns what, I care about good games. Phantom Blade, Silent Hill 2, Wolverine all look great to me. I'm sure something Resident Evil related will pop up. Terminator Survivors looks promising. I even think Outlaws looks good. More games will be announced as we inch closer to the new year. There's some great VR Games coming so I'm not even worried about it.

Exactly! I'm so tired of hearing about a pro when they haven't even come close to even tapping into the consoles potential that we already own, but now I'm supposed to care about a pro? What 1st party games have we seen that aren't remakes/remasters or Insomniac games from 1st party. Same thing with PSVR2.... they're saying they're already cutting back funding when they haven't really invested anything in it to begin outside 1 1st party game and 3rd party stuff. Sony keeps wanting to pump out all this hardware and do nothing for any of them. It's a bit frustrating.
Nobody cares if you're not buying it, or your rant. 15 million of us bought a PS4 Pro. We understand that casuals won't buy it, & we understand at least half of gamers won't buy it. The 15 million of us who want a top tier Playstation experience are the target audience, & that's OK, play on what you want, I'll play on what i want.

PS is only system putting out good games and hardware, PS5 pro still not announced by PS, I don't trust leaks and rumors, PS always has games why its number 1, PS needs to stop porting to PC amd shift to porting to PSvr2, keep exclusives while increasing 1st party PSvr2 library
A console that will soon sell more then 100 million units, will always take precedence over a peripheral that will be LUCKY to sell 10 million units this decade, & has sold maybe 2 million units or less. I love VR too, but let's be realistic, the market has always been full of indie & cartoons, with an OK amount of AA games, & the very rare drop of a AAA game, & that's not going to change. Sony gave you 7 Exclusives in 2023. Luckily, Alien, Metro, Wanderer all confirmed 2024 & arengreat lookin AA games, top end AA games in fact, & Behemoth, Low-Fi, Zombie Army & Aces of Thunder all for 2025, with 2 first party games in development. I wouldn't worry too much about the hit piece articles paid by Meta. Just enjoy Wanderer in September & Alien & Metro will be here in no time.

I think realistically the development times are long so when they give us big games years back to back there has to be time for the next game to cook. Look at Xbox, they finally are in a place where their development teams are ready but how long did that take?

@@NIXNE There’s still no excuse for lack of new first party announcements. Think about it, Xbox has all of these new games coming, they have the marketing rights for CoD now, and they’re putting CoD into Game Pass day one. If there was ever a good time for Sony to have a showcase, now would be the time.
Why would anyone buy a PlayStation over an Xbox at this point, when Sony has no roadmap? I’m a PlayStation fan, and I can’t really think of good reason why someone should buy a PlayStation over a Xbox at this point in time. This just shows that Sony needs to have a showcase sooner rather than later, because things can get ugly for Sony if they think they can keep coasting on previous success. It makes no sense, and it’s a slap in the face to the people who invested in a PS5 that Sony is planning to release a PS5 pro this year, but don’t plan to show any new games alongside it.
That being said, I expect Sony to have a showcase in September, because if they don’t Sony is playing a dangerous game, and at that point they need to be humbled

Pretty disappointed with the games so far, horizon, god of war and SM2 were okay but they felt more like ps4 games. I bought a beefy PC to compliment my ps5 and I’ve been having a blast with it
