Terius Nash's pen is UNDEFEATED! I remember falling in love with his music when I was younger and then discovering he was behind so many hits! Been a fan ever since. Keep the interviews coming Noah!
I still remember going on break at a warehouse job and falling asleep in the car, but woke up because I heard Shawty is a 10 on the radio and was like what is this - this different. I always check for The Dream from that night on.
I live for interviews with songwriters and producers. The-Dream has so much more that could be discussed. I love to hear him talk about Bey and Rih, but I don’t see enough talk about his work with Mariah, Jay-Z, Mary J and Kanye.
This man is single handily giving us the best interviews of industry moguls! These are truly inspiring for a creative coming up. I want to create a custom piece of apparel or something as tribute to what you’re doing here with idea generation🙏
I was making a record at Germano Studios in New York with a new artist. Every few days this man would pull up in a Maybach and would come running out of the car up the stairs and into the studio. It seemed like within minutes he’d be making a beat and creating a song. It was just an MPC and two Roland Fantoms sitting there. He would make a beat and then immediately start playing keyboards, then he would fly into the studio and start spit balling hooks, stacking vocals and making up verses. I was in the next room wondering what the hell is this guy doing?!?! and then he would do it again and again and again. he was a legend at Germano, he probably still is. Germano is a studio that caters to the royalty of the music industry, and among them, this guy was a creative king. I would ask the assistant engineers who he was, how he worked, I wanted to know everything. reluctant to give me information, I was just able to pick up bits and pieces here and there, but this guys legend was formed in my head. An absolutely unrelenting work ethic, coupled with passion, enthusiasm, and an almost unlimited source of creativity. It doesn’t surprise me at all to see him nominated alongside Beyoncé and many of the greats in the industry in 2022. he’s a force of nature, a force of inspiration, of creativity, and of course an incredible inspiration for going after what it is you want with reckless abandon. This is an amazing interview, and long overdue! thank you idea generation and thank you The-Dream!!! ⭐️🙏⭐️🙏
27:38 is fascinating because I remember the HitBoy interview this very topic coming up and HitBoy regretting that he didn't have a tag at the beginning of the songs he produced - which would become some of the most seminal in hiphop, and tbh music, history - N****s in Paris, Trophies, etc. Brilliant interviews man, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels / muse outlets
@25:13 thank you for the background on “Thique” ever since I saw the track list for “Renaissance” I knew it was going to be my favorite track on the album just based on the title alone. It’s honestly one of my favorite Beyoncé songs across all of her albums.
His mother must have been an incredible and beautiful woman. I can't even imagine the loss he must have felt losing her. And his grandpa.. losing this beautiful daughter and having to pull it together for her and her son

What sort of stupid question was asking that The Dream wasnt 'hot'?! Did he do his research? Thats not how music or the industry works... a song can go off anytime or it might not be
His story is so inspiring. Makes me not want to give up on songwriting!
SAME❤
Keep going! 🙏🏽
If your older find some young people to get your music to, Because they are looking for young talent
Do it!!
This man broke through in an industry that doesn't let people who don't fit the mold break through.
Undeniable talent.

I love the fact that he’s confident but nowhere near arrogant
He’s certainly shown and proven that he is who he is
Just when I thought y’all couldn’t get anyone more prolific….. You go and do this.
I had no idea Love On Top was his song for years and years and only found out recently. He actually knows me, wtf. That’s insight. Wow.
THE DREAM AND. NEYO ARE THE. GOATS OF THEIR GENERATION

I’m really thankful to be born in the age of The Dream. He’s a big deal.
My favorite overall artist hands down. Most versatile.
Check out his album Terius Nash: 1977. It’s one of the dopest RnB albums of all time.

…and I want to understand why he changed his name.
You mean that new long name with Diamanté in it?
@@wolfsisterhowls Yes. I didn’t start seeing that name until this year.
@@virtuoso8642 same. It's a little weird but I'm sure he'll get into it at some point
He did one of B2K big records too

To be around people to hear the most consistent thought is a hit. . . Need to be around more people

As a singer songwriter he has the career I've dreamed
U wrote for bey and rih
Thank you for sharing that is good to know
I just found out he wrote bed. Crazy how he mentions that towards the end
One of the guys that was that he was in the group with was my vocal coach
I like his voice.
I lost my Mom so I understand this interview all too well
Maan, I need a full song of that intro music.
I agree with another comment on this video. I want to hear about his hits with other artists besides Beyonce and Rih

He needs his flowers now!! But it is crazy that a man wrote single ladies. They know what we want 😂
