Excelente serie de ciencia ficción!! de joven (12 años) no me perdía ningún capitulo por la tv. y ahora con 55 me sigue gustando!! Feliz año!! saludos desde Mar del Plata (Arg)
One of the better episodes with a happy ending to it. The main reason why UFO failed after one season (1969-70) was because there were episodes that had potential to have their plots improved upon, or have background info on some of the leading characters, and the m.o. of the aliens, but released as they were, they left a lot to be desired. Nonetheless, some episodes still hold up well after 53 years. I used to watch this show back in the early 90s. Still gripping after all this time. 👽🛸🛸🛸
It is the only episode in which Barry Gray's soundtrack introduces a slow and disturbing guitar, it is also the episode that contains more location shots than the episode "the long sleep" filmed on a farm
I remember watching this episode when a teenager, I can recall it from the scenes when the alien is lurking in the underwood and later when the vehicles muster around the pond to flush the spaceship out and destroy it. It gives a weird feeling thus being able to revisit one’s memories. By the way, they dealt rather rashly with hostage-taking in those days 😅. They weren’t quite used to it yet. Have we made progress ? Unfortunately we’ve had to….
Showing its age ! Streaker to female Skydiver crew member ; "How's about some of that Skydiver coffee" 😂 Like space 1999 this show had many different writers, script writers and directors. This made some episodes much better than others.. That said they all had just 45 minutes to build a plot and then wind it all up so a few holes here and there and some unlikely scenario's were inevitable .. A a kid I was glued to these shows when they first aired.. Great memories
THE BATTLE SHADO MOBILES VS. UFO, IS VERY COOL! SPETTACOLARI LE SCENE IN CUI UN SHADO MOBILE CENTRATO, ZOMPA LETTERALMENTE X ARIA!!! ANCHE IL TITOLO DELL 'EPISODIO, E' AZZECCATO IN PIENO... BISHOP, COL.FOSTER, ETC.. VERY GOOD R.I.P. ALL!!!🌤🌥🌀🏅🏆🎖🪄🎱🎯🧿🎲🧸♠♦♣🀄♟🪖⛑🗡⚔🔫🏹🛡⚖📡🔭💉🗿♐⚜🔱〽✴‼🎌😀😃😄😁😅🙂😉😊😚😇😶🌫
I’m calling “Fake”! There’s no those horses jumping hurdles in the opening credit scene could have stopped in midair like that! What? Are they magical horses??? 🤨
GERROFF MY LAAAAND very British ....Especialy in these troubled times. Not a bad series I did preffer the moon one, memories going, it was so long ago was it moonbase alpha?
SHADO would have been far more effective in thwarting the aliens if they have more attack craft. Only 3 moonbase intercept craft? And only 1 sub-and-jetcraft? Ridiculous given how those armorments need regular repair and maintenance!
@@Writ3r_Dude And because of the governments’ half-ass financial commitment to SHADO, we now have the majority of the Republican Party infected with the Trump/MAGA virus! Very SAD!
There was more than 1 sub-and-jet craft. In the episode "Ordeal", there is a mention of a "replacement Sky 1" when Colonel Foster is flying off in the regular Sky 1. Then there's "Psychobombs" which features a Sky 3, I think, and I'm sure there is a Sky 4 in one other episode.
@@grahamspragg7494 But only a replacement in case the Sky 1 was out of commission. Any fighter pilot knows that 2 aircraft are way more effective in patrolling the sky and attacking enemy aircraft than a single one!
Come now, when did science ever feature strongly in Gerry's shows? Cf. Space 1999 - the moon 'blasted' out of Earth orbit at huge velocity, but could orbit leisurely around other planets as an episode required.... Great stuff, all the same!
This used to be my Saturday morning viewing. Thanks for bringing back memories!
Loved this on a Thursday night (I think) as a kid in the 70s. I've still got the annual from 1970.

Best episode of the series!
I loved watching this series as a teenager but this particular episode gave me nightmares

Fifty-odd years after it was made, and this thing is still scarier than anything Hollywood is producing today.

The plot of this show is just so weird, but I love it.

In top 3 of best episodes 😊
This episode is in the Top five of the series.
Brilliant!
RIP Michael Jayston (1935-2024)
I remember him in Emmerdale, he was also the jingle voice-over man on the BBC Essex music brandings in 2003 by S2Blue - great days!.
That little red dress is quite something.
It was used again on another actress in the Psychbombs episode. 😅
my eyes popped out, that leather? in public? in Britain??
@roadgent7921 In the psychobombs, the dress was pink, and wasn't made of leather.
@grahamspragg7494 Seems to be the same dress, and red leather.

Although he had few lines, that dog was an excellent actor.
Very amusing, my dear fellow earthling.
Still the best tune to this day

The amnesia drug was so effective Russ forgot that Bluey was the grey mare, not the chestnut one. 🙂
Indeed! Pity that I can't find any others - even the episode involving HMS Glamorgan as a guest on this episode.
Where are you viewing? In the UK the entire series streams for free on ITVX.
All that computer gubins but no one can shoot straight.
Paul used a line in one episode, Love's better the second time around. They used the memory drug & he got a second "encounter". 😊
This show was so "wigged out", even more so now to be able to watch it in color.
That dog sounds like a human is barking for it.
You’d think the Aliens would send 4 ships.
but they only had two space suits among them!

Se ne vedono pure ricascare i rottami e tutti imperterriti a sorridere compiaciuti. I veri aliens sono quelli della Shado !
il cocaina sta molto bene no?
Back in the days before a Land Rover became a yuppified status symbol......when it was still a real workhorse.
Q how did the occupant of the UFO leave and enter the craft from under water without getting wet?.
True Story!

They dubbed someone doing dog noises over the dog.
Le prélude à Cosmos 1999😊… Je suppose… 😊
i agree

They were government-subsidized. Very low budget.

It didn't matter because the aliens only had 2 suits between them and sent one craft at a time. They must have been underfunded too! 😄
Is that a youn mocheal jayston or just his voice? The lips don't quite sync to the voice
Have you ever met michael?
Yes! I told the story of how I met Michael when I interviewed him on my Jane Eyre podcast earlier this year ua-cam.com/video/LwfIGiN7Nqk/v-deo.html

Attractive actors and actresses in this series….most of them are gone today….I was about 12 years old….and loved this series too😊👍👍
At 8:09 I know Black Park when I see it. 😂
0:55 UFO has just completed a run on Legend (Freeview 41)
i don't mean to be picky how can you have engine noise in space when there is no oxygen in space, space is a vacuum.....jt

Well would you look at that... Women who are actually feminine
Great times
Since the UFOspaceships burn up in Earths atmosphere after 24 hours they must land in water
Colonel Lake❤
Ahhh yes! Stacked women, muscular men wearing nets as shirts, hot guys in tight polyester pants with bulges and the list goes on

Ms. Jameson played an ill-fated Ultra Probe crewmember on "Space 1999". Mr. Vernon was in "A Hard Day's Night".
